- Health Minister Veena George has dubbed the denial of political clearance by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for her planned visit to Kuwait as the official representative of the State government in the wake of the inferno that claimed the lives of 23 Malayalis as unfortunate.

Don't know what Veena George wanted to do in Kuwait. Go all the way to Kuwait to shed crocodile tears? instead she should visit the families of all the victims of Kuwait tragedy and console them. I would also like Veena George to visit the family of Sidharthan who was killed by SFI thugs and show remorse.

Veena Minister's service was needed as a bridge between the Kerala Govt administration and the coordinators of disaster operations. If the matter has to be reported as a first hand information to Govt of Kerala, while the Govt is in touch with each of the bereaved familles, there should be a Kerala govt representative at the mission spot. Please understand.

Unnecessary drama by the CPM minister to create publicity for the love it has for the KERALA public after the drubbing it got at the elections . Plight of Indian Citizens outside INDIA their responsibility lies with the Central government . All this would have been ok , if this had been a genuine effort . She cant fullfill her duties and responsibilities , in her own constituency or state , yet wanted to be in the midst of her own drama in Kuwait. She has been repeatedly asked to help for the last 8 years on matters of poison and toxins from a badly run Hotmix plant ( a heal health issue ) to close to residences in Kadapra, Kumbanad Koipurum , where the victims have been seeking her help .. but she instead ignores the gneral lot of people / Victims and stands on the side of single Polluter who has donated to her and party instead . So Keralites and Indian need to know a drama artiste when they see one like this .

The central govt ministers are already there at kuwait. The central govt is doing everything for the victims. Veena George wanted to make a show off which the central government understood. That’s why it asked her to go on her on expense.
@@anju2882 kuwait is a country where the majority of kerala people work like uae, saudi. So there is nothing wrong in visiting accident spot, where Kerala abroad workers suffering mentally.
This is not the first time the central govt is doing this, during flood time the central govt rejected the money coming from gulf countries who tried to help kerala financially. We are happy with the blockade..

She had no reason to go there, to Kuwait - when all that was needed was nearly complete in that end in Kuwait, handled by the minister of foreign affairs. what did she do in kerala instead ? Nothing of value either.

Why she was keen on going Kuwit? Was not she should visit the family of those who lost lives. External affairs is not a state subject so declination if her travel is justified.
