Honestly I was screaming at the player saying “The thrusters move you to the direction you look” then there’s also the fact that you don’t really need that much fuel to move forward if you’re already high up into orbit
Clearly the BBC and the creators fail to realise that you can see the milky way and all the stars from Earth orbit, or on the lunar surface far more brilliantly than on Earth's surface. so the space around the station should be filled with stars, even in direct sunlight in space, the brightest stars are visible. Research is a wonderful thing.
@@kenzobankz4490 i agree but in this short experience they seem to focus more on the space walk and the journey u r going through. If it was a longer version where its worth the effort in the accuracy department then i can see them going all out.
@@fieldg100 I agree with Kenzo. The whole purpose of this experience is to try showing how a space walk would look like. So the view that one has in such a VR space walk is the very most important part to get right.
The Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) is a self-contained astronaut backpack propulsion device that allows astronauts to venture untethered from an orbiting spacecraft. The unit is powered by 24 nitrogen gas thrusters, and its main structure is aluminum. Other elements include two 16.8-volt silver zinc batteries, a control electronics assembly, and two hand controllers. Two aluminum tanks with Kevlar wrappings contained 5.9 kilograms of nitrogen each, enough propellant for a six-hour Extravehicular activity (EVA) depending on the amount of maneuvering done. (Not ONE MINUTE only!!) This simulation is not very accurate regarding MMU usage. The MMU was used on three Shuttle missions in 1984. And retired in 1998 for being too dangerous and "risky".
Tried this yesterday... after 10 minutes of playing I had vertigo for a next hour. Its cool, but its not for everyone. There is a warning im the game. Twice!
I think this is meant to be for people new to VR, or just having a one-time experience. Being completely surrounded by motion wouldn't be very beginner-friendly.
yes it is free, if you go into your oculus app and go to the store and should be a tab called top free and it will be in there. Just downloaded it as my rift s is on its way in a couple days
can't imagine what this stuff will be like in 5 10 years.

or maybe they were focus on the virtual experience than actual accuracy

You think BBC was crazy enough to have a doctor who reference in the space VR game? Like maybe the Tardis in the distance?
So close! Thanks for sharing.
First experience that actually gave ma a bit of motion sickness
Made me super sick lol

Is it possible to make it back to the airlock?
I’ve done like 5 tries and I finally made it, I might be stupid but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t let you back in
Very cool , i died too :( but you can survive at the end :) cheers Ekos :)
Can you just keep floating into the void deeper and deeper?
yeah you can but your oxygen would eventually go out and then you’d die lol

Why are the soyuz‘s turned around while docked?
only in virtual reality!!
This is so unrealistic, why isn't the earth flat?!?!
