Thanks to this video I was able to understand and see something that was bothering me that I was doing but didn’t know how to fix it and thanks to this I fixed for good , thank you
I have tried shallowing before without the wrist tip. Looking forward to see if I get a good strike after I put that tip to use. Tried it in the garage and watched what it did to my clubface. It put it in the right position. Thanks David!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes absolutely same thing happened to me years ago when I first tried and thought it wasn’t working. Digging into it more and learning more I realised it was the club face. Pretty complex move but so good when you get it . Let me know how it goes 👌
Very good explanation, definitely a feel I will try! The 150 yard lob wedge joke legitimately made me laugh! From southern Illinois USA, I’m not the best ball striker in the world, spray the driver everywhere, wedge game is alright though, but 3 putts are a problem on the course for me.
Hi David, Nice video and great recommendation, especially with driver. Can I recommend that you look at Monte Scheinblum's (and Hack Motion's) latest videos on this exact move with the addition of moving from radial to ulna deviation at the same time? A couple of people have asked how to release in the comments here and this is a great feel to add to the wrist move you've demonstrated. Cheers Mark
Hey Mark, thanks so much for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, hack motion is something I've actually used in the last few weeks, and definitely with the addition of the ulnar deviation of the wrist can certainly help. And really, once you get that feeling, it's amazing what the body does in reaction to that. I will discuss this in more detail in further videos
Having watched your previous video of arm or body release, are you looking for the same position at P6 for the 2 types of release pattern ? Also, what do you do if you start pulling the ball left as this what I started to do with my irons. Thanks
Hey Mark, thanks for watching the content. Great question. So in the body release, we will favour a slightly more toed down position to where the leading edge matches your spine. In the arm release, it will favour a little more of a toe up position. If you're currently pulling the ball, it's one of two things. Either the club is more toe up at P6, and you're a bit active with the release, or it's more toe down at P6, and you're not using the body enough. Hopefully this helps.
A bit late to the party but i have a quick question. To prevent coming over the top we are often told to aim the butt of the club at the ball as part of the downswing, if we aim the but in front of the ball instead will this this shallow the club sufficiently.
I understand where you're coming from with that, and I have seen people advocating it. Now, I don't love it, because what a lot of people tend to do is they throw the grip towards the ball or outside it. This can get the club working very much away from the body and often lead to shanks. If you want to do that, but make sure the arms are falling straight down and the shaft is lying down, that tends to shallow it much better, and it's a safer way to do it.
Thanks for the comment. 100% I actually have it in my notes to discuss this in a video. When you can this position the body will feel the need to rotate as the body tends to orientate itself around what the club is doing. But I will go into more detail on how to achieve the correct rotation in another video
Also if you can elaborate exactly when the release is initiated. Some RUclipsrs say they start release very early in the down swing but I don’t understand exactly how and not chunk it. 🤔. Thx in advance.
Hi Nathan, thanks for the comment about the video, glad you enjoyed it. You're absolutely right, the handle does work back to the left, but by shallowing and getting the clubface in this position, as soon as you add the body rotation, that will pull the handle back into the left, and potentially that is for another video to go into more depth.
@@dlgolftips that would be great. I got the shallowing and how important it is. But kept blocking it. Then I started rotating back to the inside things started working but thought I was crazy for swinging that far left. More clarification on this would be great.

People really underestimate how much hands and arms need to move and focus on “athletic” body movements trying to hit the ball. It’s a disaster. Pros on TV we see every week are moving their hands at the start of the downswing twice as early and twice as far as amateurs. Amateurs should be focusing on the hand and arm movements your showing and mastering them before ever thinking rotating the body open.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I 100% agree and focus a lot of my instruction around what the hands and arms are doing. At the end of the day, that is what controls the golf club. And by and large, when they behave and control the club, the body reacts the way that it should. I think far too many golfers focus on body movements and less about the hands and arms, which, as I say, control the golf club ⛳️
Outstanding.
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m watching from Glasgow and enjoying the guidance. Playing tomorrow so will give it a go. 🏴
Brilliant, welcome to the channel. Not too far away from me 👌 good luck and let me know how it goes ⛳️

nice breaking down the details
Thank you glad you enjoyed it 👌
Brilliant! The best description/ help yet to shallow the club - easy to understand- Thanks. Weather I can do it???
Awesome really glad you enjoyed it. Lots of reps then slow swings and you’ll get there. Let me know how it goes 👌
Good video! 🙏 ❤
Thank you Paddy glad you enjoyed it ⛳️
I like the Logo on the wall👍, good lessons too!
Thank you very much Michael, the studio is a bit of a work in progress. Glad you enjoyed it ⛳️

lol glad you found that funny 🤣 welcome to the channel. Definitely give this a go, as I say it can be tricky but really great when you get it 👌

Good video but how do you release it. Don't you have to swing the handle back to left so the clubhead will fire out to the ball?
