"He got married..."
He MIGHT be one, also incels become incels after girl breaks their heart
@@Skullgal0 The fact is you don't know what an incel is. Incel is shorthand for involuntary celibate.
Celibate:
A person who abstains from sexual relations.
A person who remains unmarried, especially for religious reasons.
So a person who got married and then had a kid is not an Incel. Liberals like to ascribe political positions to Incels and it's really fucking stupid when it happens. Saying someone becomes an incel after someone breaks their heart is comically misinformed! Incels have trouble even getting into relationships in the first place. Dumb, stupid, misinformed!
You didn’t watch past that, did you?

Yeah I don't know about this one chief.

Honestly I think I've always liked it, from the first time I played it. I was also at an age where I sort of just expected to like it, which was hilarious considering I actually did.

Yeah! I don't think he is as bad of a person as people say he is! He is still kinda bad and he did do some bad things but this video is blowing it way out of proportion!
bro just called a dude who literally had a kid an incel lol
Ever since I was a kid I wanted Minecraft but my parents didn’t allow it. I begged them for so many days but then eventually gave up. But nowadays seeing how much hurt that it could have done to me as a kid I’m somewhat glad that my parents didn’t allow me. I watched Minecraft videos all the time when they were starting to get to their peak and remembered being so jealous of all the friends that they had made on there but now, seeing how many friends they truly had and how many “friends” that they manipulated to stay really puts a perspective on things. Not everything is a fine line between good and evil and sometimes it’s hard to see what’s good and what’s not online especially when people have facades that they turn to for virtual innocence. I’m so glad you covered this topic because to be honest I wanna go back to those days of mostly good people and just laughs, cool mods, and transparent content.

Thank you my friend it’s an honor 🙏🏽
I would like to mention that it does seem like large parts of what you said about MC Java 1.19.1 is untrue or slightly twisted.
Signs would never get censored on Java. That only happens on Bedrock, and it had been like that for a long while before Java 1.19.1.
Mojang never monitored or planned to monitor the chat. They specifically put a system in place where people could select messages to report, which _then_ Mojang would see.
The chat would never be censored, except for their own Realms services, where you can easily turn that setting off for your own Realm with no caveats.
Most of the issues which could cause abuse of chat reports were fixed. There are some ways to get around it, but it seems to be a lot more difficult than it initially was.
Censorship of "bad words" would largely only happen on Bedrock, and, as I said, it had been happening for a while before Java 1.19.1.
I've been a massive fan of Minecraft since I think 2013, so basically 10 years ago, 2 years after its full release, but seeing minecraft turn into something very messed up honestly made me lose my respect. The report system, and most notably the stans because I was thinking they're the main reason why Minecraft's reputation is being destroyed by these intoxicated people. They're everywhere, even on Twitter where there's so many of them. They have the power and audacity to trend anything on Twitter that's related to Minecraft, such as the DreamSMP for example which they are mostly super obsessed with. For example, Dream, Tommyinnit, and more Minecraft content creators. And let's not forget that they can cancel them for the ridiculous reasons you could ever possibly imagine. Dream has been canceled countless times. If Minecraft was a truly improvement change to literally prevent these types of things from happening, then they need to respond to their community, but they still turn on a blind eye. Even though I'm excited for the Minecraft 1.20 Trails And Tales update, we still have to be cautious and aware of what Minecraft's doing.
So true
Bro Just play modded 1.12.2 or 1.7.10 those communities are about half the reason i play the game anymore.
wasnt he "cancelled" because of underage grooming allegations? that's not the most ridiculous reason imaginable by far.
Ah yes, trending things on Twitter. Truly the most heinous crime.
dream actually has some good reasons to be cancelled but pretty much everyone else is totally unwarranted
oh my gosh, thank you for adressing this!! while a lot of the minecraft community is fine, there is a definite dark side to it, which most people don't really talk about. we love you, visual venture! i can't wait.

Yeah, I don't think Notch is a very great person but this video is over exaggerating everything he said and did. He isn't as bad of a person as the video implies. Twitter tends to think that being racist towards white people is ok and that if they talk back they are bad.
Saying Notch is an incel is such a giant stretch
anything to slander him. nothing new
Yeah! I used to think Notch was bad but now I don't think he is as bad. Don't get me wrong he still did some bad things but this video is overeggagerating a lot!

@@TheOneTrueMarHe had somewhat anti-feminist tweet, but who know what happened exactly with him around gamergate.
@@patriciaszabo8015Yeah, but I don't really think having an anti-feminist tweet is really "incel" behavior. I'm not trying to be rude about this, I'm just saying that calling him an incel in this video was kinda a stretch.
really hurt watching the part with Sky, I viewed him as a hero when I was younger, even after he slowly faded out I believed him to be a good guy and had no clue about this whole thing about him until now.
2:16 so you called him a incel because he’s rightfully unhappy about divorce his words weren’t even that harsh
The start of why notch wanted to sell minecraft is completely incorrect. In fact its linked to one of the darkest parts of minecraft that Notch wanted to address, the private servers built to scam/pay2win players. a lot of these private servers were raking in decent money. Mojang put out new Terms of Services to combat this toxic part of minecraft, so you can see why there was massive efforts to ramp up the backlash, people making big money dont want to let go of that. He was tired of it because of the massive backlash for putting out new legal terms of services for exactly these private servers. It was at this point he made that tweet. Not because he just wanted to make prototypes. Notch stepped away from Minecraft dev and gave that to Jeb while he worked on prototypes, by the time Notch sold he hasnt worked on minecraft for years. I played a few of them and they just that, a bunch of prototype. Also that incel part was horrific speculation, Notch is a billionaire who threw lavish huge parties in his hollywood mansion with celebrities attending regularly. That is about as far from incel as anyone can get, he needed no effort to get laid. He traveled and visited the biggest party islands out there. I'm sure if you ever have a look at Notch's inbox, you will see tons of women wanting to worm themselves into his life.
Throwing huge parties whilst also feeling the most alone he's ever been lol
@ReXiRa787
There difference is there are people who are there for you or people there for your parties and your money.
@@ReXiRa787This is bullshit, he later tweeted his words were misunderstood. Of coursez the followup tweet got barely any attention because eocial media promotes toxicity. That basically happened with all his "controversial" tweets - he later clarifies something or apologises, but barely anyone knows about that. That's why the whole "downfall of Notch" is bullshit
@@dimitrifake53thats irrelevant
@@oooooba8343 You're irrelevant.
This is one reason I never save passwords to my computer. And Notch is a great guy.
Yeah! I don't think Notch is nearly as bad as the video says he is. He isn't exactly great but I don't think he is an incel. He has his problems but Twitter is taking this too far.
I wouldnt call Notch an incel. Incels are people who cant even get laid, let alone get married and have a kid. I just think it was Notch venting his sadness and displeasure with the divorce. Its common for men and women to do that. As i said before, an incel is an 'involuntary celibate' or a person who feels they are not attractive and take their anger out on the women who reject them. Notch is quite the opposite. Unlike incels, Notch actually got a woman and a kid. Something incels cannot do.

The larger something is, the more likely it is to have controversies surrounding it, and if you consider Minecraft is _the_ most sold game in the world by a pretty large margin, it's no surprise there's so many cases like this. Honestly I'm surprised you haven't covered the elsagate-like mess that is Monster School, what once was an innocent series made by a passionate creator was taken by twisted people and turned into a horrible mockery designed to farm ad revenue.

Absolutely. I acknowledge that there are good and bad sides to everything. I would never encourage anyone to stop playing a game or not going on a specific platform, unless of course it’s PURE evil haha. But yeah Minecraft goes much deeper than what’s on the surface just like most platforms :)

Personally when Tommy (Innit) was on the grill on twitter that's when the colors really shined through for me.
I believe that this all roots back to the day Minecraft went live, when Notch left, he was pushed out and that was the first sign of toxicity which was overshadowed by notch's political opinions, from there the people though the community was nice but those same people were like a part of hive mind in which they cannot self reflect on their own action, unknowingly becoming a monster in disguise kinda like that movie "The Thing" where the monster assimilates people without their knowledge becoming something of a mindless slave, except the monster itself was also in the mind that it is human.
it's really cool to hear familiar stories by a channel out of the community, really enjoyed this

9:32 - Minecraft's Criminal Underworld Jokes on you, I dont know how to install mods!
In playing this game for over 10 years I’ve seen entire organized crime rings in this game who carry out various cyber crimes. This game has a huge amount of money to be made in various forms. From Minecraft servers to rare accounts its possible to make hundreds of thousands on this game alone. Minecraft is probably the single most culturally significant video game in history and with something as big and open ended as the game nobody could predict anything.
Another dark side of minecraft is the p*d3philia issue. I had never incountered many on roblox, but minecraft was different. They go onto servers to disguise their intent as "making friends", then groom you. I was groomed by one and he even almost made me plan my entire future around him. It's extremely gross. On another server I used to be on, people got banned for it constantly. They manage to get you talking outside if the game through discord, skype, kik, snap, or other social media. Always targetting games with children. Remember to stay safe.

@highbahamut6188 well, if he has the respect of such an ignorant bigot, then he must be pretty cool
Minecraft nerd here with some notes:
1:33 he actually tweeted this as a joke, but after getting the unexpected response he actually agreed which is kinda funny.
3:53 mojang was already under fire for plenty of reasons at around the same time, which made the whole ordeal even more controversial. Also, it's worth mentioning, there was some censorship before already (mostly in bedrock edition if I recall) but it took things to the extreme.
5:03 I've experienced it first hand, and let me tell you, it's BAD. Sometimes I couldn't even tell why I was getting censored (one notable example being "some diamonds" iirc, something COMPLETELY innocent), and almost every other message I sent had to be rephrased multiple times.
7:23 I don't know FOR SURE you're wrong, but I heavily doubt this is the first. The first POPULAR one maybe, but not the overall first recording of any SMP.
8:08 pretty sure he did that as a joke
10:15 when he says often, he means OFTEN. I've had my account stolen once (luckily I was able to get it back with no losses, my dad mostly handled it so I don't remember the specifics), and I've known many others that had the same happen to them. This is not a rare phenomena, it's just another Tuesday.

Everything said in this video is why I stopped playing public Minecraft servers. Toxicity, pay to win, account stealing are not what I want to deal with, so I either play singleplayer or on smaller SMPs that people I know are hosting.
I believe that the Minecraft community is large enough to replicate that of society: most people are neutral and are just there to exist and have fun, there are passionate people who both love and hate the game, then there are those small percentages who are toxic but are very loud.
Notch deserved better, in-fact he still does. I wonder how things could have gone if he never "sold his soul."
This is why I have some extreme concerns when I decided to become a Minecraft content creator
Thankfully I can see the mistakes of others and keep any awful fans I may get onto a tight leash
Don’t forget the servers that got banned illegal content and classified information. The number of people who were involved in that was something else!
the censorship was so annoying that i installed a hacked client just so that my chat messages wont be traced back to me and so that i can swear
I've never been too deep in the minecraft community, mainly just watching videos about the game. I haven't noticed any problems, and I'm keeping it that way.

Inceldom isn't just virginity: it's broken men who think women can , and have a duty, to fix them. They're just sad/pathetic men who refuse to grow
Said Notch was an incel,
Provided no reason why he was.
what else is new
In my opinion, this video is 20 minutes of overedited surface level knowledge that portrays itself to be some deep, thought provoking dive into the subject. Pretty dissapointing that most of the talking points dont really offer any form of original perspective or analysis beyond "x thing was bad".
i have been playing minecraft since i was 6 years old. The Minecraft community can be horrible sometimes. Thanks for addressing this.
Man, 2013-2018 really was the golden years for Minecraft. Sad to see what it’s become, I sure hope it doesn’t get worse, and that Microsoft fixes their stupid mistakes.
2012-2016*
Agreed 😢
I like how you start the video with much energy and end with slow and relaxing smart words
Notch is apparently an incel because he tweeted about his divorce, great content!
And some other things as far as I'm aware.
@@LavaCreeperPeople He's not a doctor or a scientist, just some guy who had a good idea.
Bro the reply sections on this video are getting wild 💀
@@ThanosIsUglyGD get the popcorn an enjoy
@@LavaCreeperPeople ...
No ways blud unironically pulled out the word incel
I primarily play minecraft for nostalgia, and playing on home servers, and also play before 1.19. I kind of miss the old minecraft... Hopefully people will do more about this...
I was once playing on a server and I had a buddy in the server. He got so mad because the owner kept kicking him since he was toxic. He doxxed the owner and his name, address and phone number where exposed to the public
lmao is this video for real? that notch being an inceI thing had me laughing.
Always glad to see people spreading awareness of the darkside of Minecraft. Unfortunately, as people who have been involved in the darkside, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The real darkness within the community goes far down the rabbithole
I'm glad you've actually covered the flaws of the Minecraft community and how a margin of the playerbase consists of either toxic losers or weirdos... the more something is adapted to the masses, the more creeps & 4chan lurkers you may come across.
In fact, I'd like to propose the idea of showcasing how much of a jagged, double-edged sword the UNDERTALE community is, given how it's easy to stumble on hot garbage as it is to find neat ideas, from the success of Jakei to the rise & fall of Camila Cuevas, to Toby's reasons to fear the loud minority of the fandom's... 'interests' and generally the huge history behind UNDERTALE AUs. The UNDERTALE community is a HUGE rabbit hole that many people tend to underlook due to whispers from other people saying only purely negative or (VERY RARELY) purely positive light...
“What if Notch is an incel?”
Seconds later: “Elin and Notch had a daughter”
People really just toss that word around, huh
"A Swedish game developer based in Sweden"
Is this script written by AI??
Another problem I witnessed was the staff. I mean, the owners (or charmen, as they call themself where on that specific server). I worked as a staff myself 1 year ago. I was 16 when I first joined them. It was fine, at the start, i guess. There was another problems in my life, at the time, but they are a bit irrelevant for this story. However, they added to my staff experience, cuz the one of the chairman was a rude guy. He was expecting from us to work with no problems and if we were making a mistake, he will start to insult us. One time, a newcomer maked so many mistakes so he was fired from the staff. The chairman gave him a reason, but he fired him when he was offline, so he never saw whu he was fired. He was a happy case. I was not that lucky nor the old staff. I did a mistake too. You see, if we were going to mute/ban someone, we weren't suppose to do this if the chairman was going to do the same. What am I trying to say is: if he would not ban/mute him, we should not ban/mute him neither. There are other things to, like a rule who said: ,,The chairman are the only ones who can to not respect the rules". In the, due to some changes and all the stuff going on in paralel, I left the staff. He was one of the worst leaders/bosses I've seen in my life, but I didn't said everything about him or the staff experience
12:29 is the only side that'd get me to buy in if i had the huge spare money to just throw
fun in the moment but passed out months in at most
Bro when you mentioned YOGSCAST and said it was like 13 years ago I feel old man, it felt like yesterday watching them, InTheLittleWood, SkyDoesMinecraft, and old DanTDM playing modded minecraft.
