Miss Yamashita is a wonderful guitarist with excellent technique and more importantly interprets pieces with a high degree of musicality. When she closes her eyes I imagine a scene where her dad, Kazuhito Yamashita, tests how well a young Kanahi has learned a piece by turning off all the lights before she begins to play so that she plays in total darkness.

The BWV1009 prelude was amazing. Initially I was surprised that she only played the original notes without adding extra harmonies as is often the case in transcriptions of the Cello Suites, but the incredibly sensitive dynamics and phrasing left nothing to be desired. Wonderful performance all around.
