I really like the orange and blue. They have a "sun and moon" thing going on. The swirl ones made the word "cosmos" come to mind. You didn't fail. Just succeeded in an unexpected way, lol.
I really wanna see the "flash cured" ones too (not done with vid just exited to see results lol) Edit I love the flash cured ones omg I want all 16 of them!!!!
once thing i thought of... make a layer of clear and let it go hard, then put a small layer in with the actual dye.. then put a layer of resin on top of that
I really respect your openness and willingness to share the process and the mistakes along the way. It's refreshing to see the honesty in your artistic process, rather than just "hey look another perfect thing!" These were pretty cool honestly, especially some of the flash-cured ones!
Even though they were counted as "failures" since they weren't flowers, they were still a learning experience. You will figure it out. I really like the 3D effect in the first batch; they almost look like jellyfish. And the flash cure batch ones remind me of marbles. Really interesting to look at, and you will probably find new things in them every time you look at them
When you add alcohol ink, the resin will push it out then pull back in. I have this mold but never tried a bloom in it, only flat coaster molds. Try watching some videos by Daniel Cooper. He makes blooms look easy! I would think that the depth of the mold would effect the movement of the resin. It really comes down to the kind of resin you use, temperature of it when you drop and temperature when you add the white. I also wouldn't use a sharp object to pull petals as you could scratch the mold. Draw petals slowly. Don't rush it because you are moving that resin around and fast movement can cause the petals to deform.
my resin projects never cured right...but you kept me inspired...so i built an environmental chamber to control all factors for it ...and finally i have it working ...keep up the amazing work you teach me alot

I think that they look fantastic! Remember to be kind and gentle with yourself when you’re learning new things (the same way you’d be towards your kids or your younger self). If you’re interested in watching others that make those, _Pouring Your Heart Out_ is fantastic RUclips channel that does the same sorts of things. I like her work a lot. ♥️
The first one look like jellyfish! I also like the orange and blue ones, they give me "sun and moon" vibes. You might not have made flowers, but you made some really cool stuff none the less!
Thanks for sharing your learning process with us. I don't think people realize how much trial/error is involved in crafting. You demonstrated perfectly how much patience is required in making beautiful items.
In that last batch, not sure what caused the cool outer ring, but I think that was my favorite unexpected result. The orange and blue have a definite "fire and ice" vibe!
I always like watching you try new experiments. My favorite is the one that you referred to as looking like a blue eye. I really do think your very close to getting it right. I was very surprised by the ones that flash cured. 👍
Ben there's no such thing as failure, art is art and although you may have not gotten the flower pattern you ultimately were after. They're awesome none the less. Cosmic swirls are what I see. Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder.
Have you thought about chilling the resin so it cures slower? I’ve seen people do this when they don’t want colours and patterns mixing together while curing. I know the white tends to sink because of the weight of the titanium oxide, but the way it spread out looked like there were some convection going on. It’s at least something to try. Alternatively, prep and chill the coloured ones, and mix the white at room temp when you think they have gelled enough. That way you ought to have a longer working time, and hopefully the cold slows the white from falling through all the way.
It may not have been the flower effect you were looking for, but to me they looked like peonies before the buds fully open. Beauty and art are all in the eye of the beholder and I love the results you got ❤ I really enjoy your videos, thanks for your work!
Loved the yellow "eye", it reminded me of amber or Tigers Eye stones. The blue counterpoint was gorgeous too. I would wear those as a brooch. I also thought the tangerine was cool, lots of layers and depth of colours. These would make great paperweights or fridge magnets in the shop.
I actually think they look really good, not the flowers you were hoping for, but the sun and the moon especially look fantastic. Keep up the work as I always look forward to what you will come up with next 🙂
I love the diaphanous quality of the first batch, the color swirls in the second, and the illusion of depth in the third. There is HUGE potential in this line of experimentation, and I would love to see how you use these, maybe incorporate them into other projects?
Personally, I like them all! Even mistakes can be beautiful too. I think they would look amazing as necklaces....give'em a good polish, drill a hole and use hemp or leather cord.
oooo, I love that you have various planets, jellyfish, and nebulae looking ones! I think they all have their charm! Hope some of these show up as pendants or key chains! :)
I like the one that looks like the sun and the one right before it in the video. What I think you ought to do is take all of them and put them in a project where you can turn them down in like a vase or a lamp base. I really think that would come out really cool with all them in it.
Lol at it this way, you didn't fail at making flowers; you made something cool. Some of the gaming minis I paint turn out how they want to, not how I envisioned them. Just remember you never fail, either you succeed or you learn 🇦🇺👍
The white will drop due to its weight - it is physically heavier than the standard resin for the same volume, thus tends to "Sink" in the resin pretty quickly. I actually like it as it gives them a more 3D look
If anything, you should try making ones where you pour a layer of resin first, then when it hardens you do all the fancy stuff. ‘Cause the ones you already made would’ve been incredibly cool-looking if it had that kind of ‘glass eye’ effect, if you know what I’m referring to!
The matching eyeball pair might look really cool as two halves of the same sphere. Either glued together and then rounded off a bit - or, set into some newly poured resin and then the whole thing spun down into a big sphere with the eyes on opposite sides.
Cut the failed ones into equal parts and put them back together mixed up and cast them in resin to make a cool sphere out of them maybe? Leaving gaps between the parts so light can go through from all angles would probably make them look awesome!
They look like glass paperweights. Even the "ruined" ones are pretty. Maybe you can cut slices through a couple & use them into something else. Thanks for the video. Lauri from Tennessee, USA
I watch pouring your heart out. Julie does a ton of different kinds of flower blooms. Unfortunately I've never seen her do it with you method and she has used a ton of different techniques. Good luck, can't wait to see you try again. My favorites you did was the three you showed but I saw beauty in most of them
I know they aren't what you were expecting, but they're beautiful. That one you said looked like the sun, could be used as an eye in another project. It was beautiful. The early ones looked a little like flowers, I think it depends upon what sort of flower you were after. My favorite is the the one to the left of the 'sun' in the final shot.
Flash cure are really cool, I laughed when I seen the realistic eyeballs couldn't believe it! I've only seen the flowers done in coaster moulds, you will get this, I just love the colours, swirls and depth of what you created. Thank you 👍
I love so many of these especially the "eye" ones. The first batch definitely reminded me of oranges when you were first pulling them out, but the more I looked at them, the pink and purple ones started to remind me of the tops of jellyfish!
The ones that flash cured look like galaxies. They would be amazing with a dark purple/blue or black background. I think all of the second and third batch (except the eyes-like) would look good with a black layer on the back.
If your looking for making patterns molds that are wider than deep are usually better. Alcohol inks move pushing against each other too. I love the experiments though they’re always fun. Go for a more shallow mold still not matter what they will sink. Some pigments have more viscosity so that moves less or try a higher viscosity resin. Still looks amazing
They all look great. The first batch look like Irises, the eye type, not the flowers. I think I'd try to cut one, horizontally. Never boring on this channel, thanks Ben. ;)
It was fun watching you experiment! You try lots of cool stuff on your channel, but being willing to try stuff means not everything will go perfectly. It’s like that for all of us! And that’s part of what I love about your channel!
Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here www.etsy.com/shop/bensworx
Try using pouring medium, or silicone oils. 😊
The first batch look like jelly fish to me
Try watching pouring your heart out julie has lots of videos on the subject.
Maybe you can make some door knob's ?
That's can be usefull and everywhere in the house when you want to go and grab it to go outside
Even though you didn't get flowers, you got jellyfish, lava pits, celestial bodies, dragon eyes....they have potential to be used as accents.

"Dragon eyes" cane into my mind.

Edit I love the flash cured ones omg I want all 16 of them!!!!
As the late Bob Ross used to say, there are no mistakes, just happy accidents!!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
The first batch would make great mushroom caps Ben. Maybe you can craft some white resin stalks to attach to them.
Ooooh this!!
Brilliant suggestion.
once thing i thought of... make a layer of clear and let it go hard, then put a small layer in with the actual dye.. then put a layer of resin on top of that
I don't even think you would need a 3rd layer
@@jeffcook8501 depends on how big he would wanna make it i guess

Dan, Dan the resin man is deffo the guy to watch for blooms also Julie from pouring your heart out @Ben’s Worx
Thank you 😊
@@Coyo-Tea I found out about blooms from Julie but will definitely give Dans video's a try.

The 'fire & ice' pair looked great, and I really liked the jellyfish ones too 😊
Those first ones you did give major jellyfish vibes! Would be cool fridge magnets.

I liked every single one of them. They do look like flowers. Don’t feel you’ve failed. Love your work!
The very last one reminds me a bit of a sand dollar! They may not have turned out how you planned but they still look awesome!
Oh, never a complete failure! Just pieces that wanted to do things their own way.❤

I think the first attempt was super cool. Looked like 3d flowers up close trapped in Resin
The green and orange one is actually my favorite, I think they'd make really nice magnets!
The orange and the blue one look like the sun and the moon.. pretty cool.
You should use this method to make a collection of resin jellyfish. That look is perfect for their bodies.
Omg new lamp project with these beautiful designs in with fairy lights
I actually like them all, but I'm an artist at heart ❤️
Jellyfish and planets are what those remind me of
