This is a reply to someone who emailed an article to me about the video. This is my response to him. While I don't expect everyone to agree with me, I do hope this adds a civil tone to some of the more hostile comments here. I apologize ahead of time for the length. Thanks Raheem. I'll try to answer this tonight, although it might be better when Martin and Korey are around. As for the article, there are definitely some good points. I think some people are seeing this as an oversimplified message at the end. It's right to get defensive of this because many whites have tried to oversimplify solutions to racism. Since many don't suffer the same consequences or feel the affects of racism, they reduce answers to the problem through bumpersticker logic. 'We're just one race - the human race', or some other generic 'peace and love' slogan. They either purposely live in a bubble or are truly ignorant of the issues. However, that's not what I feel Joyner Lucas is saying. I believe he's addressing the ever intensifying political climate we're in at the moment where politicians with true harmful intent are trying to divide people. People who are not all evil. The biggest flaw I saw in the writer's argument was 'what if this were a Nazi and a Jew'. This is in itself an overgeneralization. Nazis were out to exterminate Jews. While trump supporters do enable the racism that Trump KNOWINGLY feeds into, and far too many have shown themselves to indeed be racist, not all of them realize they're contributing to racism. Some whites who voted for Trump were lower income people who thought something different would help their situation. Evangelicals support Trump because he promised to support their views in certain areas. Though harmful, many jumped on this not with racist intent. Within the ranks of both are people who realize this and are trying to educate their own. Of course I make no excuses for racism, but I do understand there is a time to confront people head on and a time to open a dialogue. I think this is where Joyner was coming from. He was simply saying that if we all didn't label each other based on what we're fed maybe there'd be more understanding. I don't think he expects some fairy tale ending for us, but the message is not this naive, hand holding, hippie kumbaya love fest many perceive it to be. It's the reason I made the video about Joyner's place in hip hop at the moment and not only about race issues. While some like the video, and others disagree with it, it has opened a dialogue. As I stated in our video a lot of great hip hop has something to say, and this song now has us talking.
MassiveD Most of the country is still against Trump, over half of the votes were against him. Also you said systematic racism isnt in this country anymore but compare the education of a inner city school in Baltimore or Chicago with mostly black student to a school in the suburbs. Yea slavery happened hundreds of years ago but jim crow only happened only 52 years ago and people are still affected by that. The people who are affected by that are the same people that are stuck in the inner cities filled with poverty because their family wasnt able to leave the city because they were turned down loans because of their skin color. Also still today people are discriminated against because their name or their skin color and there have been multiple stories for people not getting property simply because of their skin color.
@Double Toasted I love you guys and I think it's great you do things like this. And I understand there is a bit of bias in everything, however, the problem with your statement is that you are ONLY hearing one side of the story in regards to Trump. And thus you *YOURSELVES* are in a bubble that assumes that Trump enables racism. Last I check, racism is still frowned upon and is a punishable crime...and if you think it wont be in the future...you are using a slippery slope fallacy based in emotion rather than fact. *Not every person who voted for him, did so from a malicious "I want to enable racism" stand point* More blacks voted for Trump than McCain or Romney. Half of white women voted for Trump. More Latinos voted for Trump than any other republican candidate before him. We both agree here, however, DT's rhetoric of Trump supporters "contributing to racism" is VERY divisive; and you should not be surprised that there are people of all ethnicities that push back on that claim. As a Samoan that supports Trump, I can tell you that Joyner interpretation of Trump supporters is also wrong. There are a myriad of issues that put Trump in the presidential seat. Political Correctness in University Campuses that restrict debate and discussion was a major factor. Gender Identity politics was another. Bias Media coverage of both the right and left. Protests against *Freedom of Speech Rallies* Dismissive attitudes to blue collar workers. And of course Bernie Sanders getting cheated out of the DNC (confirmed true by Donna Brazille). Although this is a major aspect that led to Trump's presidency, I won't spend time on it, since it usually goes down the rabbit-hole of "Oh you just using the Hillary Clinton to deflect from Trump trick again" These things are important issues that Trump supporters ACTUALLY care about. NOT how the mainstream press perceives us to be rabid "Build the Wall" "Ban all Muslims" "GET OUR JOBS BACK" people. And the more people mis-interpret us, the more we become convinced that Trump was in the right. (He's not of course, but a broken clock is right twice a day and Trump is right when he refers to us as forgotten/dismissed people) I love double-toasted and think its a great youtube channel! And I encourage you guys to keep the civil dialogue alive! Cheers
Great point about music history. We tend to only remember the good stuff from music history, forget the trash, and then deduce that the past must have been so much better than whatever's charting in the present.
J.cole, Kendrick Lamar, childish gambino and Logic are some of the new rappers today that can actually rap and actually rap about something. Their music makes sense and sounds good. No mumbling from those guys.
My only problem with this video is that a lot of people are missing the point of this video. A lot of people see the video and think that just one side is right (usually the black guy) and completely miss the point that the video isn't about being right or wrong but opening up a dialogue instead of having shouting matches. They even miss the fact that both sides bring up decent points minus the racist stuff and that the black guy admits that the way he lives probably isn't right and that he isn't necessarily as innocent as perceived.
Exactly. I'm a Conservative, but I didn't agree with some of the stuff the first guy said, and there were points the second guy said that I agreed with as well. I think the point of the video is that when you're in a political discussion, you shouldn't try to prove yourself right. You should try to find common ground with the person you're debating with.

I love Joyner Lucas, but this song is misguided a bit. By the end of the song, the white guy was still a racist, he just listened to the black kid,and all the black kid did was try and defend himself. People keep saying "the song is one sided" but let's cut the shit, the issue is very one sided. there was no resolution to the song, there was no need for a hug, because they're not beefing because of a mutual disagreement, they're beefing because one enslaved the other and refuses to take credit for breaking that community of people. It should've ended in an apology from the white guy. Anyways I'm glad double toasted crew shift the direction of the talk, because those opinions could've been very problematic.
Thecomandante _tut Dude, obviously missed the point of the entire song if this is your justification. The dude in the MAGA hat wasn’t racist but showing concern for the growing race tension but for some reason you want to project your own views on something and make it wrong because it doesn’t suit your narrative. Actually, listen to both sides rather than think one is righteous over the other.
Missrena1000 the man in the MAGA hat was absolutely racist. I think you missed the whole point. The entire purpose of that verse was to shed light on the racist things that are said and then covered by "I'm not racist"
No, he wasn’t. He was someone who got tired of the white hate and the discrimination that have been plaguing American society for a while. He was speaking out in a fit of frustration which he is kinda justified in doing.
Missrena1000 White hate? Got tired? Must be nice. Usually when a minority gets tired of hate it's from a system of white supremacy and even then they have little choice but live with it. They certainly don't give their opposition a platform to justify why the younger generation is adopting the hate. There has always been a certain group of Whites that seen Black progress or rallying for equality as a direct affront to everything they expect from life. Trump did not invent that.

@Naruto's Mustache LOOK! BlackLivesMatter co founder said white people are "recessive genetic defects" Guess one of the founders are racist.....simple as that
Did I miss it ore did they just not discuss the content of the song? Like, I guess I was hoping they'd discuss race relations and what they can be in this country and maybe the role class plays into all of this but it kinda just went into new vs old rap and then a chick got hit and the video was over.
I’m so happy so many ppl in the comment section see through Lucas Joyners shit. His come backs WERE basically “we do dumb shit cuz of racism🤷🏿♂️” & also weak af in intensity compared to the white guys. I daf about white ppl understanding racism, I need black ppl to understand our history & our power economically & politically if we stood up & gaf about shit that would actually improve our lives. I wanna see us hug each other, how’s THAT for powerful & deep??
I'm seriously wondering what they teach in history in southern states? Like how does a white guy not know all the history, cruelty, abuse, slavery, oppression, etc of blacks. My parents a long with school started the conversation on racism when I was like 7. This being a rural white as fuck Catholic school. I know there's a trend of " how can we accept our differences?" Instead of arguing or hate. But I cannot forgive prejudice to a extent when a white person can't get the fucking picture we are taught about racism at a young age.
ELM Tree it gets me in the feels because my parents can be pretty racist. I think everyone's a little bit racist, but the level my peers or parents are at is makes me cringe. And yes I live in the north. Wisconsin. There's a Month dedicated to Black History and yet enough whites don't understand " how not to be the assholes of assholes". I agree the want to learn has to be there too, but why is it this hard to get kids not to grow up like thier prick parents. It baffles me personally.
I could listen to these two talk about the history of hip-hop (or any genre, tbh) for hours! You should start doing one-shot shows where you talk exclusively about a single topic.
I would love to hear DTs opinion on Cern and Dwave computers. I watched a couple videos of the scientists hiring new grad students. They talk about aliens, alternate realities, and making black holes like how we talk about race, music, art and politics. Very trippy, very real.
as far as I've experienced almost every decade if you dip deep enough there'll be more than enough good music to listen (provided a genre/style was 'available' at the time), new sounds and styles are still discovered but that doesn't mean the old is bad or that the new is bad, if you look good enough for what you like you'll likely find more than enough also even classical changed and had different styles and vibes, every 'genre' has I think, but there'll always be people in who's sounds you can recognize old influences or s/thing tl;dr music rocks, just dig a little for the gems in a genre, like Martin said there's filler every year/decade but (imo) there'll always be some good stuff to find, like you all said, the search may seem like a 'task' but it's ever worth it
I watched this first thing before I turned off my feels and it made me tear up but once I turned off my feels I realized I had mixed feelings about this whole thing
Sucks that they never really discussed the point of the song in question. They just went on a 20+ minute tangent about the differences and similarities between older hip-hop and this generation's hip-hop. I would have really enjoyed them actually breaking down the strong, need-to-come-together message in the song.
Bar-Shaun Aleem Tyler People like you are why things never change if you can’t agree with the simple message both sides should try to get to know the other then you are a bigot you’re self. Hate only brews more hate and a us vs them mentality is never good.
Yet you sound just like a white person saying they have lots of black friends. Like it or not those bigots are your friends, neighbors and coworkers. And for any peaceful change to happen both sides are going to have to agree to disagree and try to find a way to move forward. Until then things will only get worse
Old people always say that what young people are doing is crap. 20 years from now Migos fans will be saying the same thing about whoever is coming up then.
I do not consider mumble rap to be hip hop. If i did, that would mean that i would have to recognize that hip hop is dead. And i refuse to believe that! Mumble rap is something social media addicted pill babies do in their free time. It is not art , it takes no rea original thought to sound like you are constantly chewing food! Whatever that is, it is not hip hop!
Okay everybody, I am white as fuck. From Europe, no experience with guns or gangs or any thing like that. But I love me some DMX. These bands today talk about the same shit as DMX, it's true, but goddamn at least DMX was a little creative with the thug shit. So glad Korey watch hiphop DX! Shout out next time. You gotta watch The Company Man (the originator) as well! Justin Hunte is the truth. Much love tho, Korey’s hiphop corner needs to be a thing.
the purpose of the song is to show both sides have points and both sides are right and wrong. The song is not about dividing, "i'm better you're wrong, etc".. its about realizing BOTH are victims to establishment. They're not suppose to be facts, everything is assumptions.. and you can kinda see this also as joyner having an internal argument with himself "living in the same house but on different floors". I dunno.. i don't think people are understanding the positive intentions of this song and that joyner wants us to challenge our own internal conflicts of how we think we perceive each other vs how we perceive ourselves.
How is that lazy? Its 100% true. BOTH sides twist the facts to make their point and stubbornly dont hear the GOOD points the other side is making. Whats your definition of real progress? One side backing down completely? That will NEVER Happen.
Knight Ryder People have been using this old "both sides" tactic forever and it always favors the side resistant to change. www.washingtonpost.com/news/retropolis/wp/2017/08/16/politicians-blamed-both-sides-during-the-civil-rights-movement-kkk-and-the-naacp/?.98b3167456df
Key word in that article "politicians". What are our politicians doing now? Seems like the have every interest in furthering racial division rather than coming to the middle
+Hunter Zolomon Sampled a *bit* of the song? They used everything but the lyrics and added a few additional notes. Did I attack you in any way, shape, or form? No? But you're going to insult me over a theme song to a show that hasn't been on the air in over 20 years? What's wrong with you?
its not like bigots should just get a pass, but its good to try to understand that the majority of them were raised that way, it sucks to say but its hard to say wether you would or wouldnt be a racist if you were raised like that, its hard for people to get past how they were raised and how there communities act. i think in the end trying to show at least a little sympathy works better because more people will come around and wont think that way if they are at least listened to and given an actual response rather than everyone just yelling at eachother and never having a conversation. MLK Jr. was all about non violence and dialogue, thats why he was so successful, peace and love is affective.
To be fair, I understand that the way Worcester is spelled is very different from how it's pronounced. However, I will not excuse thinking MA stands for Minnesota and not Massachusetts. 😂
9:40 1. Basic rhyming words with no poetic thought involved whatsoever. (DR. SUESS GOT BETTER BARS THAN THESE CATS ON THE STREET) 2.The same subject matter being Sex, Drugs, Money, Cars, Rebellion, with the occasional talk about Social Issues in the Ghetto/Hood but not enough honestly 3. It's literally beats done in FL Studios with only 15 minutes spent on it with unoriginal loops, reused kicks and 808s, no quality production crap. 4.Dudes nowadays just need Autotune and catchy beat to make it. You could be speaking gibberish and still get put on like what the hell? 2017 Hip Hop in a nutshell
I'm a bit late here, but even Classical has changed A LOT in its 1000 years. Today's classical music (there still is) may have the same structure, but comparing it to what was around 120 years ago, night and day. And don't get me started on comparing Romantic to Baroque.
Yeah, but CDs haven't been extinct long enough to acquire the mystique needed for hipsters to bring an inferior product back from the dead. Unlike vinyl, I never see CDs on sale, so presumably they just never died out in the first place and people like Martin have been buying them from somewhere or other this whole time.
That's what made them popular at the time.... The same could be said about Migos... I think music is subjective just like any art and people should be allowed their opinions
people can say what they want, but this song is a true work of art. not only is it well produced, well executed, full of creativity and with clear talent behind it. But it's the special kind of art that compels conversation. People are upset about this song, but conflicting interpretations of it's message is opening up a ton of dialogue about the issue at hand. It's GOOD that this song took the perspective that it did and people got offended by it, because it challenged sensibilities. it challenged preconceptions. it's already leaving a significant impact.
I think music has always had 2 sides of people in every genre: people who listen for lyrical content and people who listen for auditory content. I don't think it's fair to say that all music of yesteryear was better, but I would agree that there are some elements from those times that are missed and lacking in our modern era......also, I liked the song they talked about in the beginning.
Martin's laugh is life.

If it Acts like a Racist
Thinks like a Racist
And Speaks like a Racist
...Then it is a Racist no if and or buts about it.
@Solqueen86
Fuck off Racist! You dismiss people (Act) like racist, Have absolutist views (Think) like a racist, and seek no further evidence (Speak) to prove your claim like a racist. You should be ashamed of yourself Solqueen86
There's a lot of racist black people out here then.
@Naruto's Mustache LOOK! BlackLivesMatter co founder said white people are "recessive genetic defects"
Guess one of the founders are racist.....simple as that
Did I miss it ore did they just not discuss the content of the song? Like, I guess I was hoping they'd discuss race relations and what they can be in this country and maybe the role class plays into all of this but it kinda just went into new vs old rap and then a chick got hit and the video was over.
Blake Farley I'm pretty disappointed that was also what I was hoping for I'm the video
Blake Farley You're right, they didn't discuss this song at all, unless you count Martin saying it confuses him.
Welll they sort of covered that around 7:15-7:30, how much more of that did you want?
what content?
Sofá Perdido what's the date on the stream that this is from
Martin's laugh is the best.
For me it's more about the skill of rapping itself that lacks now with these mumble rappers.
I kinda miss when there was a story to tell, not just random verses cut and pasted into a song.
*"YAH YAH YAH!"* -- Lil Uzi Vert
Honestly New hip hop isn't that bad it's just that some rappers who are not as skilled are just at the forefront
New hip hop is bad
When Martin started crying I almost pissed myself Lmao
Good to see Denise feeling better.
Glad you brought up Murs. His defense for mumble rap was on point. I don't even like mumble rap but all his points made sense.
eon001 Murs breaks things down on HipHopDX very well
Murs kisses men so his points are rendered invalid
eon001 he may have a point for that shit but i ain't gonna listen to that trash
O_O lol
Mumbling about promethazine, codeine, and fucking ratchet bitches; quality
Martin's laugh is the greatest laugh ever.
22:31 Martin: "Slow Down, Be Quiet"
I think you mean "sit down, be humble"
I’m so happy so many ppl in the comment section see through Lucas Joyners shit. His come backs WERE basically “we do dumb shit cuz of racism🤷🏿♂️” & also weak af in intensity compared to the white guys. I daf about white ppl understanding racism, I need black ppl to understand our history & our power economically & politically if we stood up & gaf about shit that would actually improve our lives. I wanna see us hug each other, how’s THAT for powerful & deep??
M.C. Holiday's "Gucci Man" came out in 1986, four years before The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
This was great! Good work and perspective guys.
Martins laugh is gold 😂
I can't focus on the video, i keep starting at that sweet Murdoc shirt.
Yall jam to Immortal Technique?
Wait CD?
L M lol I had the same reaction
I could listen to these two talk about the history of hip-hop (or any genre, tbh) for hours! You should start doing one-shot shows where you talk exclusively about a single topic.
I would love to hear DTs opinion on Cern and Dwave computers. I watched a couple videos of the scientists hiring new grad students. They talk about aliens, alternate realities, and making black holes like how we talk about race, music, art and politics. Very trippy, very real.
Honestly.... I'm clearly late but I find it awesome you did a video about Joyner and managed to work in a Murs tangent being a fan of both.
as far as I've experienced almost every decade if you dip deep enough there'll be more than enough good music to listen (provided a genre/style was 'available' at the time), new sounds and styles are still discovered but that doesn't mean the old is bad or that the new is bad, if you look good enough for what you like you'll likely find more than enough
also even classical changed and had different styles and vibes, every 'genre' has I think, but there'll always be people in who's sounds you can recognize old influences or s/thing
tl;dr music rocks, just dig a little for the gems in a genre, like Martin said there's filler every year/decade but (imo) there'll always be some good stuff to find, like you all said, the search may seem like a 'task' but it's ever worth it
Thiggity-thank you Martin!
So true Korey. This is why I accept the fact Hip Hop is more pop than before but that's not a bad thing.
I'm dead at how you called Worcester so wrong lol
Black Titan right!!! i wanted to cry no one ever adds all them letters
Yeah because no one would EVER guess that you pronounce the name like a Rooster but with a W from just reading...I know I didn't.
I didn't realize they were talking about Worcester, MA because of the pronunciation for a while LOL
I watched this first thing before I turned off my feels and it made me tear up but once I turned off my feels I realized I had mixed feelings about this whole thing
MAKE SIDEKICK 3000 permanent!
I'M SO HAPPY THEY LISTENED TO THIS
Sucks that they never really discussed the point of the song in question.
They just went on a 20+ minute tangent about the differences and similarities between older hip-hop and this generation's hip-hop.
I would have really enjoyed them actually breaking down the strong, need-to-come-together message in the song.
I'm sorry.... But I refuse to hug it out with bigots!
FACTS
Bar-Shaun Aleem Tyler People like you are why things never change if you can’t agree with the simple message both sides should try to get to know the other then you are a bigot you’re self. Hate only brews more hate and a us vs them mentality is never good.
First off. I am not a bigot. Secondly, I have plenty of caucasian friends your response is fragile!
Yet you sound just like a white person saying they have lots of black friends. Like it or not those bigots are your friends, neighbors and coworkers. And for any peaceful change to happen both sides are going to have to agree to disagree and try to find a way to move forward. Until then things will only get worse
Bar-Shaun Aleem Tyler having Caucasian friends don’t mean you have to generalize the entire race
Hey Cory Worcester is pronounce “Wooster” here in New England lol
He's from Wusstah, Massachusetts. That's what the city's called.
Old people always say that what young people are doing is crap. 20 years from now Migos fans will be saying the same thing about whoever is coming up then.
Just so you guys know, no one in Massachusetts pronounces Worcester that way, its Wuss-ter
Whatever that is, it is not hip hop!
....so where is the link to the original episode?
That's on DoubleToasted.com, you can get the podcast or the full month streams for $7/month with the first 7 days for free, or buy one episode for .99
How does a backpack fit into that lol
The first 15 seconds is pretty much all you need to know.
Okay everybody, I am white as fuck. From Europe, no experience with guns or gangs or any thing like that. But I love me some DMX. These bands today talk about the same shit as DMX, it's true, but goddamn at least DMX was a little creative with the thug shit. It was fun, it had energy, it had a melody, it was recognizable and distinct. All this new shit is:
_♪ Yuh... skrrrt... gucci gucci versace versace... yaw.... I askamasemubpaandamatakamaCLUB (yuh).... I mekamaendwheneagetupindaSWAG (turn up)!_
What's going on now is Hop Hop's equivalent of Glam Metal. It's vapid shallow cookie-cutter commercialized garbage, everybody dresses like retards and nobody's gonna look back on it with pride. Just the price of going mainstream I guess.
So glad Korey watch hiphop DX! Shout out next time. You gotta watch The Company Man (the originator) as well! Justin Hunte is the truth. Much love tho, Korey’s hiphop corner needs to be a thing.
Glad you finally see it our way Korey🙂
Slick Rick's nursery rhimes, KRS, Public Enemy. Everyone dipped their toes into the gangster life.
I agree with him.
YO. TIGGITY Thomas was the FUNNIEST thing EVER. lol
Korey you should check out Big Krit if you haven't yet
Man Krit is straight flames
Joyner second verse was weak, we don't accept it. Here's mysonnes remix. Much better response. ruclips.net/video/suiLQUdYvR0/видео.html
H, mysonnes version is nothing but excuses and even more racism.
the purpose of the song is to show both sides have points and both sides are right and wrong.
=/
The video was dumb. It was basically "both sides are wrong, truth is in the middle" which is just lazy and leads to no real progress.
How is that lazy? Its 100% true. BOTH sides twist the facts to make their point and stubbornly dont hear the GOOD points the other side is making. Whats your definition of real progress? One side backing down completely? That will NEVER Happen.
Knight Ryder People have been using this old "both sides" tactic forever and it always favors the side resistant to change. www.washingtonpost.com/news/retropolis/wp/2017/08/16/politicians-blamed-both-sides-during-the-civil-rights-movement-kkk-and-the-naacp/?.98b3167456df
Sometimes the answer is in the middle. Have none of you ever studied philosophy and the Golden Mean?
Key word in that article "politicians". What are our politicians doing now? Seems like the have every interest in furthering racial division rather than coming to the middle
Hmmm... You probably won't be a big fan of my political views, you partisan bitch hack
America's a strange place
Fyi guys the animation is called rubberhose animation
Hello DT Team, the name of that city which I lived near is pronounced 'Woo-ster' Mass.
this track officially ended racism
Korey you butchered the correct pronunciation of Worcester. Damn that was funny
Fresh Prince of Bel Air -borrowed- stole their theme music from RUN-DMC's Christmas In Hollis.
Word Unheard they *sampled* a bit of the song. -Only a dumbass like you wouldn't understand what sampling is-
+Hunter Zolomon
Sampled a *bit* of the song? They used everything but the lyrics and added a few additional notes. Did I attack you in any way, shape, or form? No? But you're going to insult me over a theme song to a show that hasn't been on the air in over 20 years? What's wrong with you?
+Rachel Johnson
This is true. The show, too.
sure did
ya like the first few seconds other than that they sound nothing alike
its not like bigots should just get a pass, but its good to try to understand that the majority of them were raised that way, it sucks to say but its hard to say wether you would or wouldnt be a racist if you were raised like that, its hard for people to get past how they were raised and how there communities act. i think in the end trying to show at least a little sympathy works better because more people will come around and wont think that way if they are at least listened to and given an actual response rather than everyone just yelling at eachother and never having a conversation. MLK Jr. was all about non violence and dialogue, thats why he was so successful, peace and love is affective.
LMFAO it's pronounced Wuh-ster, not Wor-chester.
I live in Worcester, MA, I can't believe I've never heard of this guy.
To be fair, I understand that the way Worcester is spelled is very different from how it's pronounced.
However, I will not excuse thinking MA stands for Minnesota and not Massachusetts. 😂
WUHHHHSTAHHH SUCKKSSS KED, NOT ENOUGH DD AROUND TO GET MY LAAHGE ICED COHHFEEE EVERY MORNIN
New hip hop is all style & no substance, in the 90s substance was the style.
WMICx well said sir
No
9:40
1. Basic rhyming words with no poetic thought involved whatsoever. (DR. SUESS GOT BETTER BARS THAN THESE CATS ON THE STREET)
2.The same subject matter being Sex, Drugs, Money, Cars, Rebellion, with the occasional talk about Social Issues in the Ghetto/Hood but not enough honestly
I just feel like the hug and resolution was unearned.
More hip-hop discussions please.
Guys if they haven't told you already it's pronounced as Whister or Whista if you're local.
I'm a bit late here, but even Classical has changed A LOT in its 1000 years. Today's classical music (there still is) may have the same structure, but comparing it to what was around 120 years ago, night and day. And don't get me started on comparing Romantic to Baroque.
😂 martins laugh 😂
Wait, CDs still exist?
compulsiverambler have you ever walked into a store?
Stores you can physically walk into still exist? Must be a USA thing.
TOTALLY NOT SATAN Don't be too literal. Of course CDs still exist, but who the fuck has a CD player?
Yeah, but CDs haven't been extinct long enough to acquire the mystique needed for hipsters to bring an inferior product back from the dead. Unlike vinyl, I never see CDs on sale, so presumably they just never died out in the first place and people like Martin have been buying them from somewhere or other this whole time.
The title is kind of wrong since you barely touched the subject matter of the song...
"You heartless fucks." - Korey Coleman, 2017
did you ( korey ) delete the vid when you cried?
I luv how DT are cool with silly racist stuff people usually get offended by...
This ain't racist tho
A little piece of me died inside when Cory pronounced Worcester. I'm not mad about it but I just died a little is all.
Wow, Joyner sounds a lot like early Eminem in that $100 bill track.
I think music has always had 2 sides of people in every genre: people who listen for lyrical content and people who listen for auditory content. I don't think it's fair to say that all music of yesteryear was better, but I would agree that there are some elements from those times that are missed and lacking in our modern era......also, I liked the song they talked about in the beginning.
felix dressed as Morty in the background
The 90s had allot more versions of rap to choose from today’s rap all sounds the same . The 90s we had different styles
