I guess I'm living the ultimate hack, make content no one cares to copy 😅
Its unfortunate seeing more and more copy and paste channels pop up because like you said its really hurting the lego community as a whole and narrows the type of videos being out. But i feel like that's society in general these days. Something does well and everyone tries to copy it exactly.
The thumbnail topic is a tough one. The new "style" of split screen is super generic and people complain but at the same time thats what works, ignoring trends and what is popular is gonna hurt your channel. I'm trying to find the right balance myself, between originality and whats trending.
Building a core audience that's interested in you and your ideas is vital to long term success on RUclips. I'll be honest my channel has struggled for much of this year and views are down. But I feel like I have a core audience that has stuck by me and a community i've built that can carry me through until things pick up. But that came about by creating my own brand of content over the years.

      @robonut0357 Месяц назад

Even Mr. Beast has come out and said that he’s had some really good success with split-screen thumbnails. I don’t think using the format is the same as copying and pasting, but there’s definitely a balance

This is why when it comes to LEGO content, the stop motion community is my favorite. Unless you are really big, everyone knows everyone, we support each other, and we are completely original. A lot of films may seem unoriginal, but we will take concepts of other films and make a completely original twist to it. I'm speaking from the ninjago side of the community, so not entirely sure about the other SM communities.

Some rules to help avoid junk Lego content: avoid and select "do not recommend channel" for the following:
    * Title has "haul" in it
    * Thumbnail with fake shocked face
    * Creator is part of the LAN, which means there's a conflict of interest and you'll likely get the same dumb talking points.
As for idea theft and parasitism, those are sadly part and parcel of RUclips and social media. Plus the Lego RUclips space is just vastly overcrowded.

As a person who makes videos with an existing IP it can be hard to justify the video as original, seeing as I didn't create the world and characters. For me it's about what you do with the world and characters and what stories you can create that are unique to other creators, despite using the same sandbox. Using the same IP can lead to similar themes but stealing like this is just nuts. Great video

But if I do I’ll make sure to check if what I’m doing is copying someone, I’ll credited them as irs their idea. Or if I do it with ignorance I’ll apologize and thank them to notifying me of my mistake)
Ppl need to make their own unique idea to their videos, or just think hard on what you want to do and research on what ideas with the content you have in mind. Don’t just take them and saying it’s yours, look for something that can inspire ya and make it your own.

I’ve unfollowed one specific Lego tuber, literally as you said the6 and the 3? Plus channels they have literally just copy, hack and rerelease other people’s ideas - down to the name of the video sometimes within a few days. If they do any unique stuff it’s lost within the masses of copies.
One of the best things that ever happened to them was they lost being a Lego ambassador because they broke contract with Lego by complete stupidity (or was it a planned leak?) then spent an hour complaining about how wasn’t their fault. I unfollowed them shortly after that - it was possibly the most negative and narcissistic Lego video I’d ever watched.

This is alot of youtube in general
Besides just stealing content there's "generalized" content
I used to be in the Sea Of Thieves scene and its the same content and topics year round like clock work.
And little to no original ideas. Or people that had the talent or skill to make their own original out of the box content
Like: I beat pro players using a $10 keyboard.
Would be an original idea in that niche.
But requires talent to pull off.
((Cause you have to be a top 0.01% player))
So it cant just be copied exactly.
Same with any other niche. If you make content backed by something more exclusive to you, it's harder to steal (clip farming asside)
For instance: I bought 5 Lego sith infiltrators in an hour to figure out which was best.
Something that if someone is copying they're having to sink $200 into it 😂
