Socialite amuses me early on Like, imagine someone barges into your house and declares they're throwing a party, and then everyone that tries to join in gets booted. You just kinda sit there together.
Hey, roommate! We're gonna have a party. But I'm going to turn away anyone I don't know about and write em down in this book... Then they're free to come and go as they please.
I'm new to town, you look fun, let's party! but I'm still too insecure to talk to new people, but if they show up again a second time, I'll assume they are friendly and let them in!"
The problem with the new Soc is that they worded the ability with new flavor text that's more complicated than what it actually is. They should have just worded it, "throw a party at your target's house, roleblocking anyone (including roleblock immune roles) who attempts to visit. Anyone you roleblock in this way cannot be roleblocked by you again."
New socialite is fine, I think the old socialite would have been better if everyone was anonymous in the night chat. Evils could still try to communicate through the "static" and it doesn't out the jailor as a non-talker.
Pipe could have taken a gambit on lynching Bers in the first game and hoping that Poisoner was too stupid to realise pipe was immune to roleblocking that night
I mean when the seer and the PM walked into the confirmed vet (pipe), it just shows that the game rn is in a state where the devs are not addressing the issue of new players that absolutely have no clue how to play the game, and are just instead adding more and more buttons for us to pay them
It's important to remember whoever is "adding new buttons to pay them" isn't the person who'd be responsible for fixing whatever issue you have with "new players." lm also not sure how they'd even go about fixing that issue when it's easy for any player to make mistakes, especially in a chaotic mode like all any.
Personally when I’m evil, when the vet is known and still has alerts I sometimes take that risk early, so that I won’t have to deal with mind games later.
Got this on my first try lol 4 people tried to visit and outed something I think dép i didn’t know how the role worked so I went on them and got the achievment
Ever since they updated socialite, I have no clue how it works. I’ve read patch notes and understand it on paper, but I’m so confused on the strats behind it
So pretty much you just go on a confirmed townie or something like that and what you do is anyone not on the guest list is prevented from visiting the player you visited, it's a 1 time town protect similar to tricksters magic mirror in that aspect)
It's functionally a limited-use combination of lookout and cleric. You can both protect a person and see who visited them, but you get more inaccurate and less protective the more you use it.
It can also be a little bit of a town investigative since it can see who tried to visit someone. If someone claims a non-visiting role and you see them denied entry, you found yourself a liar :) I think the best way to play it is to not invite people to parties unless they're a trustworthy/confirmed TI (seer or psy) or Mon.
@@FeyPhantom I think the best way I can think of is you play like a pseudo LO as you can see who visits your target and you primarily want to be on confirmed ti's, tpows, or other confirmed townies like dep or just the most likely to get attacked confirmed townie
I thought I had read something on the Wiki about a Crusader being able to attack themselves somehow, but I couldn't find anything on the pages for Crusader, Shroud, or Witch. But Shroud's page did say that a *Bodyguard* will attack themselves when Shrouded, so maybe it works on Crusaders too.
I don't know what the old was, probably "host a party with 10 or more players". But since I got that one, they gave me the achievement for adding 3 people in one night to the guest list for free :D
I like new Soci better than Old Soci. Old Soci has some interesting implications, but their abilities essentially ran on auto-pilot, *and* they self-confirm too easily. New Soci is instead a new flavor of Town protect, which it interesting. I haven't quite gotten the hang of if it's a *fun* or well-designed town protect yet, but I'm optimistic.
I'm confused. Why was it not worth alerting that last night in the first game? You had already gotten roleblocked the night before so you were immune to it and there was the small possibility that bers walked into you too thinking you had no alerts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was still a small chance at winning no? Unless Bers would rampage at Pipe's and live by transforming?
On the final day as Veteran, I would hang the Berserker and hope the Poisoner forgets that Veteran is roleblock immune tonight. This was the only way to possibly win the game.
Honestly it would have been funnier if you did alert on that final night just to say “frick you I still have an alert left” to 4 for taunting you in whispers
In the comments the Seer posted this: "HOLY COW I WAS THERE! I WAS NAFTA. That game was so infuriating. Not only no tp was on me, I was witched, so witch send me toa crussed target" So the crus wasn't witched, it was the seer meaning the crus still messed up by not protecting the seer.
Essentially it roleblocks anyone who visits the person socialite used their ability on with certain exceptions however those people then get added to the guest list and cannot be roleblocked by the socialite again.
Think of it like a combined lookout and cleric, but the more you use it, the worse the lookout info becomes and the less protective the cleric part is. Every time someone is "added to the guest list", you no longer see them nor protect against them.
It's like a reverse Tavern Keeper, you roleblock everyone who visits your target (they don't "visit" so LO and Trackers can't see them) but you can only do this once per player for the rest of the game
8:40 Alternatively... Why is confirmed vet alerting? If coven hadn't misplayed for no reason with the PM, you're just throwing it out there for nothing, aren't you? Poisoner gets you anyway, and Seer can confirm someone else guaranteed with a confirmed vet. Am I missing something? 19:16 I understand you don't like him being on 1, but who should he have been on? I kind of agree not being on who SHOULD'VE HAD A CRUS on them was correct.
Both coven and Pipe misplayed hard on that one. The PM had no actual reason to visit the Vet, only the Poisoner should have visited. Pipe should have called a bluff for TP and hoped the coven didn't attack, while allowing the Seer to confirm someone and not dying. And to top it off, Pipe could have actually won. Hang the Berserker and took a gamble to see if Poisoner knows you can't rollblock 2 nights in a row. Very disappointed he just threw the Seer under the bus despite him being the main reason town lost.

He did elaborate. He gave his full reasoning.

Exactly, literally, this comment right here. That's much easier to understand, thank you.
Bro, that poor SK, all 4 other people had protection on his last night.
My first game as Soci I died to a Veteran named "Veteran" because 11 said "party at 15's" so I thought it would be funny to do a party there
silly braincell you got there
can I borrow?
Pipe this is two videos in a row without a word in CAPS in the title! Are you ok? Blink twice if you are kidnapped
If the game is a normal episode, no caps. If it's crazy and hilarious, caps lock.
Its been about 2 weeks of Vids with few caps in title. Theres only been a few that have had even 1 word in caps
I prefer it tbh. The caps feel so aggressive in my subscription feed
um excuse me? you copied my comment from last video? im going to sue you (im joking 🙏🔥)
your cooked your donezo buddy 🔥🔥🔥🔥

that would actually be cool
It is funny that pipe's vet bait is always just being mean.
Seer in the first game said 4 and 13 were friends on D2. When 13 and seer died N3 you should immediately know that 4 was coven.
Yeah but the seer was SO low IQ, even if I remembered that will I would have been doubtful of it.

WHICH ONE OF YA BASTIES KILLED ME, WHY WERE NONE OF THE CRUSADERS ON ME
Pipe could have taken a gambit on lynching Bers in the first game and hoping that Poisoner was too stupid to realise pipe was immune to roleblocking that night
Yeah for real, I bet it could’ve worked
Veteran is able to be roleblocked tho, no?
@@4mplitude you can't roleblock someone two nights in a row
25:12 sk got boxed in via double chain and had nothing he could do before game was over
Yeah, I am surprised he didn't acknowledge the poor SK being left alone with 4 confirmed TPs xD
"Posted 13 seconds ago" Well, glad I have something to eat my dinner with.
Edit: New Socialite is very strategic, I like it.
Same here. This channel becomes my dinner watch lol
I got spaghetti to trade
Ah I get it now
So new Socialite is Starbound from BTOS2, but you can only SB a player once a game
I like the new Socialite, it's really cool how it's like a tp/lo hybrid
One time with new Soc i went on a hidden vet and saved a PB and a Conj

I love how that vet game was just two TKs being the only people in the town with a tarnation brain
Project Moon sleeper agents activated
I legit got this achievement yesterday, stopped 2 cov from visiting and someone who died. I am surprised it is so rare.
No all caps again? Pipton are you okay?
That poor sk in game 2 man. They didn't stand a chance
I love that I found this channel! It’s so helpful that you make the chat bigger so I can read it easily on phone ❤
First match was hella weird. Seer confirmed 4 was cov but no one said anything.
14:25 no new soc sux. I liked the idea of day chat at night
Pipe thank you for posting early in the morning! I’ve got a big exam today and I wouldn’t want to start my day any other way!
A jester play you could do is if a socialite does the party thing you can act like a coven member telling another member to do something
The party thing no longer exists
That first game was pain
HOLY COW I WAS THERE! I WAS NAFTA. That game was so infuriating. Not only no tp was on me, I was witched, so witch send me toa crussed target
Ahh, that clarifies things a bit. Yeah TP should have been on you 100%
Personally when I’m evil, when the vet is known and still has alerts I sometimes take that risk early, so that I won’t have to deal with mind games later.
I dunno if Pipe realized he could have alerted that final night because of Hangover

It's Town Starspawn form BetterTOS2.

dancing with the dead
The crus could not protect the seer because he was witched into the seer and killed him

Wasnt this called Discord? i got this on my first soci game after rework
ye me too
Isnt socialate like the lo? Or are there diffrences
How would Seer ever be a visiting role?
PROJECT MOON MENTIONED
So the way I see it the new soc is a tp/ts that gets less useful the more people they successfully role block
1:30 he just showed himself there
How often do y'all encounter a real vet in the game? I feel like even with vet not being unique anymore I've seen them a lot less in TOS2
2 crusaders yet none of them are useful lol
I was the dep game 2. I got so lucky. I had no idea what was going on, lol.
Thanks pipton for the entertainment
