Merry christmas !
Great content all year. Great sense of humour. Have a great Christmas.
Agree. Merry Christmas.
Cheers from the USA.
Currently playing through gundabad and loving it.
Thank you very much.
A thing I love about the older total wars, is that slow creep up to full scale battles, it's quite abnormal to have a full 20 stack vs 20 stack at the start, where in the newer ones it's practically as standard to have full, "crisp" engagements with an "ideal" army template instead of a hodge podge of whatever units you have avaliable.
You are spot on with this. Furthermore, you're likely to still have smaller scale battles late in the campaign which I find very satisfying and also it doesn't always drain the player mentally. Med 2's recruitment system ensures you have to use all your troops rather than just spamming the same one. The addition of 'armies must have a general' was the main reason for, 5 turns in let's go full stack on full stack.
love the Gandalf gambit.
Merry Christmas
I've returned with some more friends
-Gandalf at the seige of goblin town.
You can get Ring of Barahir on Aragorn if you leave him in Ost Sul for a turn
What does it do?
@@epmtotalwar it gives some buffs but I'm not 100% what buffs but you can get it when the quest starts for Aragorn it's only 1 turn alone Aragorn in Ost Sul
Merry Christmas!
I say get about half the infantry and archers out when you get one catapult and then all, but one infantry unit and the general when you get a second catapult in goblin town. (I expect the military garrison to be up by then)
Messenger: My Lord High King, Bree has fallen
Aragorn: Good. All is proceeding as I have forseen
Messenger: Have you seen how big Angmar and Enedwaith are getting? At this rate they'll take everything we don't possess.
Aragorn: Then they'll fight each other and we'll them both where we want them.
If AA do their invasion it may blunt their southern armies so maybe Dol Amroth won't be utterly screwerd over.
It seems like Gandalf will lead the southern army if there is one.
Gandalf has a much more important task.
I suggest trading Bree when you get it back for Mengalen and then Metraith for Bruinost because
1. With Mengalen you have a settlement closer to the front line to recruit from
2. Bruinost is a good core region
3. You take advantage of the Bree autogarrison.
You forgot Dorwinion!!!!!!
I was confused about the militia units too outside of the core regions. The second tier encampment just shows that the same trash militia are recruited - am I totally missing something?
So the way it reads (I think) is that before Armor/Reunited Kingdom all you get from the encampment outside of the core dunedain regions is the militia tier of that region. RK, since I've done that campaign, you then have to build the auxiliary barracks and that gives you access to higher tiers of units while the encampment gives wider access to dunedain units. I think with Arnor, you retain the 'Beacon of Hope' and therefore can get a wide range of mercenaries instead of getting them through recruitment. I think they might need to be allied though to get access to them, it at least says they need to be allied. I'm not sure about that. More testing is needed.
@@epmtotalwar Right I didn't understand that at first - I'm doing a ND campaign for the first time in v5 so I was a bit confused. I'm having a similar problem of needing the territories west of Tharbad for recruitment but I'm spread too thin to commit troops against Edenweith (which I suppose is typical for a ND campaign)
Merry Christmas!
