Top that Wafle and chicken with shake! PERFECT! Also, here in Finland you can actually order fried Bologna sandwich at all grills that serves fastfood (sometimes even Mc Donalds has it as special). It is called "Porilainen" named by the town of Pori, Finland.
My late husband told me a story that reminded me so much of 'Christmas Story'. He was raised in the 50's in Rock Island, Illinois, in a 2 story house that looked like the house in the movie. He said that he and his siblings would come home for supper after a day of playing ball and exploring the alleys. I could just hear the narrator of the movie telling the story. He said they'd all be really hungry, but when they walked into the kitchen to sit down and eat, they'd suddenly lose their appetite. There, in the middle of the table, sat a huge beef heart with the arteries sticking out, along with some noodles and stewed tomatoes! He said he could have sworn the heart was still beating! LOL. His mother would fix it occasionally for their father, who really liked it. If they complained or didn't eat some of it, their dad would give them the 'look' and he'd have to swallow hard to get it down and then go outside and throw it up! I think I would have taken a beating rather than touch that horror! Back in those days, what daddy said, went!

What no craving pig leather 😂
From TN (now in Texas) and I truly appreciate this video of southern comfort food 😋 takes me back to being a kid again.
I love tamales from Mississippi. To me Louisiana and Mississippi has the Best comfort food in the south.
@Pepe Lopez,
Thanks for sharing this. Greetings from south Louisiana USA !
So you just leave Memphis out like that lol!!!
I’m from Mississippi. The gulf coast region is like Louisiana food and culture wise. I’d say Louisiana has Mississippi beat though when it comes to food. But both do have the best food in the south.
What about texas 😅

I lived in Texas for thirty plus years, being the widow of a Texan,I have enjoyed food in Texas. My children are native Texans and we introduced them to the variety of foods in a big city in Texas. They even loved eating octopus from a Chinese restaurant when they were young ! ( I don't eat octopus ! .... LOL )
I saw you for the first time last night n your African video. You were great. Now here you are tonight. I'm gonna sit back and enjoy you! 😊😍

I love this vlog..I feel starving after watching
Top that Wafle and chicken with shake! PERFECT! Also, here in Finland you can actually order fried Bologna sandwich at all grills that serves fastfood (sometimes even Mc Donalds has it as special). It is called "Porilainen" named by the town of Pori, Finland.
This was a great episode! Felt like I was warmly invited in to each place and did not leave hungry or without a smile on my face. ❤
Hey shout out to Rock Island and the Quad Cities but not that meal lol
@@theprodigalsun__ Hey! Are you from up there? I've been about 3 times to visit my mother in law and my husband's brothers. It's a nice place. The MS. River was close by and we visited the Rock Island Arsenal.
The pig ear sandwiches are iconic...…but those "smokes or smokie sandwiches" only the natives know how delicious those are.
My ex is from Jackson she put me on those smokies n pig ear sandwiches OMG they are fire
Crucial0885 literally just had some two days ago 😩
Thats those Red Rose Sausages!
I’ve never hear of a pig ear sandwich
If she cut slits into that balogna it would probably have more crispy ends and stay flat
IKR, thats the way we cooked it growing up.
You ain't lying!! Old School!!! Lol😉😋
We used to make pacman fried bologna
facts
Better on skillet than deep fryer...
Jackson definitely need revitalizing. Two places shown in this video already shut down: barrelhouse (in the b roll) and Beatty Street. Many other places also have shut down.
I Love this episode ... What a great share with all of us... thank you... Food Looks amazing and the people are so friendly... What more can you ask for... Comfort food and Southern hospitality💓💓💓❣️
Mrs. Glenda reminds me of my aunt!! Love this episode! Southern kindness!
Mississippi is my home, I can tell you that chicken and waffles is the best shit ever
Yep same I’m from Mississippi too
What part are you from
Needs Louisiana Hot Sauce. The maple syrup sweetness and the "bite" of the hot sauce is delicious marriage of taste that makes you wanna dance!!
Jakolbe Brown Bay Saint Louis
My wife’s family is all from Meridian and we visit pretty often. We’re definitely swinging through Jackson next time!
Comfort food in the south is labeled as such because of the love and soul that goes into it not because of indulgence. Love your channel. 🙂
I'm from Jackson Mississippi and I eat at all those places. Great choices but there are many more here. I wish I could have met you.
Felix Hill you probably have parasites
@@JoyJoy-oc7su i dont get why ppl like you need to come outta nowhere with all that negativity ....
Felix Hill After watching this video, I wish I could sample the menu at those same places. You have a lot of beautiful locations in the southern states also that I wish I could visit. Greetings to you from south-east Australia.

Thanks for shining some positive light on my state. We've had so much bad press in MS and our sister state LA. Regardless of the things that have gone wrong, there is still a lot worth doing and seeing here. Peace baby.✌️
