Beautiful Riviera! I had a '96 Buick Park Ave Ultra with the same engine and that thing would scream for a stock car. I loved the car. It was like riding down the road in a lazy boy recliner that got great gas mileage!
Thank you Lou for showing this car. It’s now over 25 years old and considered a classic. And making only 200 of this model. Makes it special. Very nice this car. Being 105. And is being kept in great condition. 💯👊👍❤️
Very nice Riviera! I never knew about the Silver Arrow examples. Rivieras were often style leaders for Buick when you think about some of the classics over the decades. Including this one- definitely the end of an era. Thanks Alan and Lou for letting us see this classic.
If Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac would make their vehicles like this again for the American market, I think they would sell allot more vehicles than they do now, but hey, what do I know, huh ? I was around when the early 1960's Riviera came out, and the 66 Olds front drive Toro. Great car and proud owner. Thanks for showing Lou.
The poor man's Cadillac was my favorite. 1960's up to when GM ruined the brand. I did really like the radically different Olds Aurora first gen. It was a beautiful car. This featured Riviera and the Aurora were on the same platform, except the Aurora was a 4 door. The Aurora replaced the Toronado and Ninety Eight nameplates. @@richardmorris7063
Interesting retrospective of one of the last products from GM that was worth spit. After this point the company fell into the sewer never to rise above what floats. Thanks for sharing, Lou!

OK, wow! A Silver Arrow Edition! I've heard of these later models, but I haven't seen one until now. Leave it to Mr. Oldfield to have one in his collection. It's another rare treat for the channel. Thanks, Lou!
Certainly not my favortie Riv, but I had to view this video so I could learn more about a car that I'm not real fond of. Right of the bat, I learned abut the last 200 models called Silver Arrow. All that Silver Arrow history was really interesting! Your vids are always so informative and educational...Can't wait to check out the interior up close in Lou Costabile fashion!!! This really is quite special. Love it. Wish you could have taken it for a ride!!! C'mon Buick...bring back the Riv! Thanks Lou...another GREAT video.
These are neat cars. I worked at a Buick/olds/Pontiac/Cadillac dealer when these were new. We had 2 customers with these silver arrows. The owner of the dealership also had one he ordered, that had 6 miles on it. Neat cars

What beautiful lines this 1999 Buick Riviera "Silver Arrow" Edition has! I love that rounded nose and trunk design, along with its chrome 7-point hubcaps and, of course, the beautiful "Sterling Silver Metallic" paint very suitable to grace this final edition. A very nice interior, from the shape and distribution of the controls on the doors, to the ergonomic seats with the "Silver Arrow" symbol on the headrests (special mention for the instrument panel, a little protruding, and which follows a harmonious line next to the doors; in addition, the striking plaque indicating that it is model number 105 of only 200 built!). Impeccable engine compartment, even with its stickers, and its excellent V6 Supercharged engine. Very interesting collection of documents with detailed information about the model; But what I liked the most was the elegant brochure with those beautiful photographs of the various Rivieras models. Congratulations to Mr. Oldfield, for having this historic Silver Arrow in such condition! Best regards, Lou!
Hi Jaime, Happy to read you enjoy the lines of this car :-) I've videoed with Alan before and so enjoyable to listen to him knowledge of the car, and just as enjoyable reading what you see. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I saw a Riviera with a Turbo Grand National type engine at my local car show in ST. PETERSBURG FLORIDA. It was owned by a Florida man that worked for the state. All documents included.
Wow! Nice Riviera! I never heard of the Silver Arrow even though I have been a Buick and Cadillac fan since 7th or 8th grade. Last century! LOL!! Thank you Lou.
Real sharp looking car and an interesting story to go with it! Cars from 90s are now are old enough now to where they look cool and interesting. I used to not care for them that much but I guess now that they're consider classics now they seems pretty unique now. You usually don't review cars this new Lou which is why I enjoyed this video, something fresh and different. Great video Lou!
That car is right in my wheelhouse. Love everything about it & would love to own one. For me the 67 was the pinnacle but this is not far behind if at all!
Just popped up in my suggestions. Nice "spaceship Riv". I parked a few for lady customers of Red Lobster, the parking lot was smaller & their Rivs were quite long. It is amazing that his front marker lights haven't yellowed (a flaw of these Rivs.) Also, Riv styling cues went on the 97 Park Ave that ran a couple of yrs after Riv ended. Too bad we couldn't see the driving portion, that silver paint is something.
Thanks Lou it would be neat if you could find the experimental turbo charged Buick Estate wagon and do a video of it have not heard anything about it since early 90s
Had a 96 Riviera traded it in on a new 2016 Ram in 16. The day of trade, the Riviera had 206k miles. I remember seeing the Silver Arrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show here in SoCal in 1999. The last edition ran 1995-1999 All the Rivieras were around 40k new.

These 1995-99 Rivieras and Auroras are a pleasure to drive. I have had several. I currently have a 97 Riviera NO supercharger. But it is still peppy. My 3 former 1996 with Superchargers were definitely peppier! I actually prefer the Aurora. I had a 98 and 3 99s, all Autobahn optioned. But I think I have pushed my luck with Northstar engines having owned 6. Too many leak oil and the head bolts come loose.
Love the Buicks and the 3800 engine GM hasn't made a engine sense to compare with this V6.
