I love this car so beautiful at 37 years old looks good in 2022 after nearly 4 decades later. They don't make cars like this anymore especially now I prefer old cars more than new cars of today that Buick commercial ad from '84 didn't lie when they said more people were choosing Buicks see why wasn't born around that time until 4 years later my aunt had a '84 Park Avenue at that time these cars were out around '79. I always watch videos of old cars especially the Buicks grew up on this brand thanks to these beautiful classics, love the 1984-85 Lesabre always said to myself if was an adult in 1985 would have bought that model now I am going to say same thing with the Riv, wanted a 2door coupe this would had been on my car list as much of car person I am that beast would had looked just like this model almost like new. They don't make cars this great anymore, saw a convertible in white not that long ago was elderly man a few years ago saw a coupe all pimped look like singing the Rubberband man (Spinners) lol I said a old school car had an older woman on passenger with those ridiculous 22 inch rims or so look like pig tails still these were some beautiful cars even liked the Toronado that was same as (Riviera) think the Buick did look better as much loved Oldsmobile. A teacher that taught my mother had one of these at that time she and her husband were saving up buying them a beautiful new home it looked good it was light color with reddish or brownish dark interior ran like a tank after paid cash for her home she finally sold that car remember it was up for sale at service station with for sale as last time saw that beauty was when younger guy was driving that was way back in the in the 90s. Thanks for detailing the 1985 Buick Riviera she deserves every appraise of a beautiful and classic machine ever built these cars all collectors items.
@EUROASIAN Bob I call mine hoopties but they really arent.. last one I got was a 2006 ford ranger 4x4 4.0v6, from california. Next one I'm looking for is going to be a Ford Excursion 7.3 diesel 4x4 eddie bauer... just looking and waiting for an example that's spec"d the way I want and rust free
I feel like I just took a trip in the Wayback Machine! Back in the day, a friend of mine had a Riviera identical to this one except his had a lighter gray top. I had a Toronado at that time which was a really sweet ride too...I loved that car! And I do remember the leather smell of that interior just like this car has. Whoever buys this car should consider themselves very lucky to have it!
I owned the same color '85 but mine was a T-type with the Grand National engine and didn't have a vinyl top. Talk about a sleeper. Had it for 5 years, great car.
Love this car. This would be my weekender in the summer for sure. I also love how you shot the video. When you're bringing it over to The Wizard, show this video to Mrs. Wizard so that she knows how to shoot interiors because she hasn't a clue.
I could not have afforded a $20000 car back in 1985 and as an 18 year old my eye was turned to mustang gt’s but I will say this was and will be money well spent
What a gorgeous car in showroom condition - it even has the new car smell (I'll have to take your word for that). I agree that of the trio of GM personal luxury cars from that model year ( the Eldo, Riviera, and Toronado ) the "Riv" was by far the best looking of this trio of sisters! I loved it's flowing front lines compared to the Eldo's verticality. The Toronado of course was the ugly sister of the trio. The only thing that surprises me with this model year of GM personal luxury cars (and this applies equally to the Eldo, Riv and Toronado) is that the rear window was fixed for no apparent reason. How did it make sense to build a two-door hardtop where the back window did not go down? Can anyone explain this? If I was a backseat occupant I would have felt cheated! I would be like "where is my power window switch?" (as a kid I was obsessed with power windows). This was not like the '72 Cadillac Coupe de Ville where the rear window was basically a giant opera window. These cars had hardtop lines! I'll never figure this out.
If you look at the sticker the steering wheel may show as an upgrade. Linden NJ Plant sometimes upgraded the steering wheel with a vinyl hat roof if they were short on the standard wheel at production.
29:30 - 1980s GM cars are notorious for deteriorating headliner material. If the visor is doing that the whole headliner is not far off or is actually like that. It can be replaced with better, longer lasting padding and liner material. As for the A/C, if it needs charged it most likely has a leak in the system which would require a complete evacuation of the R-12 and a complete replacement of the lines, condenser, evaporator, compressor, and full recharge with R-134a
I have a 1985 Mercedes 500SEL that was my aunt's. Has 70k miles and runs and drives just fine.Needs an exhaust from her short drives. I'd like to sell if you like them.
This is a perfect winter car for me to use up. I want to keep my Fiat in the garage all winter and this front drive Riv is perfect for our winter roads. :)
My grandmother owned a dark red 1984 Rivera. My parents ended up with it and used it as a family car / work truck. from hauling 3 kids and all my dad's tools, the auto-leveling air shocks were completely destroyed. I drove it while I was in high school some until we got rid of it. I broke the tail pipe and melted the tail light. The car was a mess when we got rid of it. I still have dreams about it.
These were the cars to have if a Cadillac was out of reach or a Pontiac or Oldsmobile just didn't get it done luxury-wise. My Dad almost bought a '79 Riv but opted for the Electra Limited coupe instead because I had trouble fitting in the backseat (I was almost 15 at the time and getting taller). My Dad drove that car into the ground over 15 years--it was the car I learned to drive with. My neighbor has a clean '81 Riviera in this same color scheme--never drives it. I envision buying this one day.

Speaking of the smell of the interior - I'll never forget the distinct smell of higher-end '80s GMs with the Prima Velour upholstery. It was the same whether it was in a Monte Carlo or Regal or Caprice or Delta 88.
Bob fully geeking out Love it
I had several of these to drive when I worked in the used car business in the 80’s. I loved every one of them.
Wow that’s a miracle!!
My neighbor used to have this same exact car.Im amazed at the pristine condition.
$60,000 in 2024 beautiful car! We had the 1980 model year and this brings back memories.
Fantastic. I still put the Toronado at the top for the best lines, out all the three GM-lux coupes of that generation, but that Riv still looks awesome. THUMBS UP about the new car smell. Ya just can't get that level of toxic joy in new cars today.
I would love to find an 1986 Cutlass supreme in that exact same condition!
Yes, those are perfect cars for sure.
Hi Bob. Wow you have totally outdone yourself on this one Bob, what an absolutely beautiful car. Whoever buys that car is going to have a virtually new car! I take my hat off to you Bob, you are the used car Master... 👍🙂👍🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧
Thanks John!

This is why I am a petrolhead! Beautifull!
Love it; wish I could afford it. Have always been a Buick fan since my first car in 1980; a 1970 Buick Skylark Coupe. time capsules are my favorite; keep em coming.
One of the most beautiful cars ever made!
Wow this Riviera belongs in a museum amazing how that man took so much care for this car plus i like the 5.0 litre Oldsmobile 307 v8 it may be underpowered but smooth and reliable im just mind blown how showroom condition its in
Great intro to the video, just driving around. What a great find, everything about it is from a different era.

@@davidzoller9617 These all had the FWD Olds 307 engine, which is the 5.0L. 4 barrel Quadrajet carb.
@@davidzoller9617 5.0/307ci V-8.
Even as a English man I have to respect the originality of the legend of a car well don sir bob of Europe Asia motors you are a legend when it comes to jammy deals with crisp cars
LLLLLOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE IT!!!!!! My great uncle had this same year in blue. It was one of many Rivieras that he owned throughout the years, starting with the 1960s models and ending with the late 90s model. He had a Jones for Rivieras. LOL. :)
That is a gorgeous automobile..I had a 83, 85 & 93 but the white on white w/ red leather & factory Bose was my favorite..I let my ex have it to get rid of her...I miss the car very much..Been over 25 years & I still think of her ( the Riviera) not the ex wife...LOL
“EuroAsian Bob strikes again!”
“Where does he find these things????”

Wow my sister had the same car new in 79, she was crazy in love with her car. Thank you for the video I wish I could buy it for her!!
Unbelievable find Bob! Beautiful car! 😍
Man what a beauty love the Riviera’s . I Bought an 85 Cadillac Seville bustleback 11,000 original miles off of my Moms cousin in which was the original owner. Owned it for 2 years, I loved it but didn’t want to put miles on it recently sold it. So last year I bought a 93 Cadillac Eldorado that had 27,000 miles on it great shape not perfect but I don’t worry about driving it and trying to keep it perfect. I love low mile cars like that but for me personally it so hard not to worry about keeping it in pristine condition. Thank you, for sharing hope it goes to person that will keep it original and take care of it.
The E-body was a home run and grand slam for GM, all 3 of their variants had their own personality.
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 *PRISTINE Riviera* !! *Lovely low-mileage 1985 Buick* !! *This interior is FABULOUS* !! *Love the TRIPLE gray color* !! *Anxious to see this car on Bring-A-Trailer* !! #EuroAsianBob 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Absolutely Beautiful! What an Icon!
Total Beauty.....I like your drive by shots in the first minute. :)
Flipping gorgeous. That thing is one in a million.
I want that for my hooptie fleet. Thats a gorgeous going to town rig.... love those 2 door models, buick and the cadillac variant
Definitely not a Hoopie! Lol. It sold for $38500.
Wayback Machine! Love it! You must be 50+
I have the Rocky and Bullwinkle pinball machine.
@@euroasianbob9268 You bet I am! Rocky & Bullwinkle...Love it! Now I'm definitely subscribing!
I owned the same color '85 but mine was a T-type with the Grand National engine and didn't have a vinyl top. Talk about a sleeper. Had it for 5 years, great car.
And i Want To Thank You Much For Sharing Your Video With Me And To Please Take Good Care Of Ur. New Barn Find
I love the styling of this Buick sensational car 🚙
Love this car. This would be my weekender in the summer for sure. I also love how you shot the video. When you're bringing it over to The Wizard, show this video to Mrs. Wizard so that she knows how to shoot interiors because she hasn't a clue.
Love that body style. I had a 1985. The same color combo as this one.
Absolutely beautiful classic car
Freakin amazing. One of my favorite car designs from GM all 3 of them Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Buick .
I also have an 85 Riviera with 65k and a 98 Riviera with 94k absolutely love Riviera 👍
It's actually my dream car, very nice. 👍🏾
What a cool Riv!
Geez!! Absolutely stunning!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Absolutely beautiful car. I love the big Buicks
Beautiful ride
I could not have afforded a $20000 car back in 1985 and as an 18 year old my eye was turned to mustang gt’s but I will say this was and will be money well spent
Wow the bay is crazy clean.
WOW...she is a true time capsule!
Awesome I had a 1985 Buick Regal Limited two tone green I had the 231 v6 (3.8 Liter)
I have no other words but... WOW.
If you look at the sticker the steering wheel may show as an upgrade. Linden NJ Plant sometimes upgraded the steering wheel with a vinyl hat roof if they were short on the standard wheel at production.
Beautiful Car!!
Just Exceptional in every way!!!..I still have the original Sales Brochure!!!
The power antenna was the very first thing that went out on my 83 Riviera. Best car ever!
Nice car and Thumbs Up !
29:30 - 1980s GM cars are notorious for deteriorating headliner material. If the visor is doing that the whole headliner is not far off or is actually like that. It can be replaced with better, longer lasting padding and liner material. As for the A/C, if it needs charged it most likely has a leak in the system which would require a complete evacuation of the R-12 and a complete replacement of the lines, condenser, evaporator, compressor, and full recharge with R-134a
Brand new, and we had to replace the headliner.
@@nomebear didnt get those problems with my regal, nor my el camino
I would say this thing is the definition of a cream puff!!

Very very nice Rivi ............ 👍👍
That’s when cars were cars American made she’s Beautiful I had one and it too was a 1985 also love it 🙂👍
The small curtsey lights in the top lip of the dash is a Riv classic. Look at the org 63 -65 Riv dashboards. They are there
My grandmother owned a dark red 1984 Rivera.
What a gem of a car. Guarantee the wizard will freak out
