Well, I am a bong boy but living in Punjab. I really miss my home's biryani, the most I miss is the potatoes in it. I have been to Mumbai, Delhi. I must say Kolkata's biryani is the best.

@@sarmir1282 dear, i use aloo with meat and rice which i call tahari or pulao.
and aloo was not originally in the recipe of biryani. kolkata k nawab sahb had to do jugaad for his biryani and hence aloo was introduced😂

and then ,copying awadhi Biryani and making a blunder by putting aloo and then calling it a biryani,😝then mocking the real ones

We colour the potatoes with jafrani rang and then with little salt we cook it in refined oil on low flame ......

And it's true that most of people says that aloo is not match with biriyani but in kolkata style biriyani without aloo it is incomplete!
And there is no need to add coriender or mint leaves cause it has a strong fragrance of biriyani essence or mitha etra !

Kolkata biriyani really heavenly tastes.... Manzilat's biriyani restrurant run by wajid Ali saha descended Fatima,, one of my favorite biriyani of manzilat's after arsalan, siraz,royal and dada boudi restrurant.

There is nothing like kolkata's biryani. Those potatoes in it r like🤗😘 i miss it so much. But whenever i m in kolkata i make it a point to have the biryani n puchka. These 2 r gems of kolkata. U cant find it in any another place.

I hv been hyderabad since past 2 yr...i can proudly say in all ovr india bengali hindus are best vry peaceful frndly caring and last not least i hv tried every famous place in Kolkata sah goush,paradise bawarchi,pista house...sahzad all hydrabd biryani are way too spicy..its not bad for eating...nice tasty but not compared to Kolkata biryani...Kolkata biryani is best and alu is love pure bliss heaven. .i miss my Kolkata❤❤❤💝

In Bangladesh we love biriyani . Its definitely in our top 3 most favourites. But what you call biriyani is called Kacchi here ( Kacchi Biriyani ). Our biriyani doesn’t have potatoes. But the kacchi has potatoes. Kacchis are mainly made with Mutton and are famous for the delicious Aalu . And the Biriyani is made with Beef . And both are delicious .

i was surprised to see aaalu in birayni when I was in Kolkata... being a hyderbadi Kolkata biryani didn't disappoint 💕
in 1995 i used to eat chicken biryani at Tapas dar dukan in amheartstreet and kesab sen street adjoit... cost was 17 rs per plate... and that time aminia biryani cast was rs 32 for chicken biryani.... can anyone tell me the current price of those place biryani.. that time arslan.. siraj.. dada boudi.. nobody was so famous...
