Hi ! This is helpful -starting a retail position next week - did anyone who worked retail find it stressful to do enter restaurant checks as well as selling merch ?
I actually work for the distribution center, was hired on and I've been there for about 18 months. I absolutely love it. It's a stress free environment, no drama on the work floor, and everyone out has been like family to me.
I just got hired at Cracker Barrel as my first job ever. I’m in college and I’m only working on weekends. The manager was really nice during interviews and when I went to orientations. I start trainings this Saturday and Sunday 30th and The 31st. I got hostess/ host job. I’m very excited to start!😎

@@lilisandangus Update on working at Cracker Barrel. So far work has been going great for me. I made so much friends with my Co-worker one’s name Laura and Raven. The mangers are really nice, as well. A really great place to be and work in. I took at test last Sunday and passed in the first time with an 80%. I’m now a Par Ons. I’m so happy.😎

I was a 4 star at CB for 2 years and I HATED it. I've never been more stressed and overworked in my entire life. Thank god I was a minor and couldn't work over 4 hours. Do NOT work there.....However, I made some of my best friends ever here so it wasn't a total loss

@@emilyworth5238 if you are telling me you are a teenager complaining then you are only not a millennial by 2-3 years given that CB only hires 6 so you are splitting hairs. besides the newer generation is worse than millennials.

i’m about to schedule an interview here and i’m super nervous ! especially if i get the job.. i have hugeeee anxiety about starting new things. i’m not too shy but i’m super worried about messing up and not remembering something i learned doing training or anything involved with math haha. this is my very first job interview and all of the reviews from employees are really negative and it’s making me super nervous ! i’m free most of the time but there’s a certain day i cannot work because of family matters. hopefully it’ll go good, this is like the only positive cracker barrel review that i’ve found

Really isn’t every week ? I just got my interview today my manger told me he’s going to do a follow up .on a phone idk if that a good thing bc the interview was quite short he’s was tried .
Do you get paid for orientation? I just did my first day yesterday and I go back in Friday. I love the lady that is helping me. I’m very shy but they make me feel comfortable

I make bank at CB but the job is ass. We have to roll 100 silverware every shift and it sucks.
Yessss omg you can make bank but I totally agree silverware is notttt where it's at ugh.

I am so awkward too!! It isn’t a bad thing:) But I can say that having a first job def helped bring me out of my shell in a positive way!
I’ve been in training at my Cracker Barrel for 3 weeks they’ve scheduled me to come in literally once a week to do my training. I WORK 3 hours total next week and that’s just training in store and finally off the computer. Idk if it’s going to be worth it with the hours like this and making 10 dollars for a check
Sierra Wow, that is weird that they are are doing it like that! Hopefully once your done with training they start giving you more hours! At my store we could also pick up shifts other people were giving away, so try that too . Or maybe try talking to a manger if they don’t give you more soon.
When I first started I only worked one or two shifts a week but after 2 years I worked nearly every day and had double or triple shifts, so just wait and see how your managers decide.
Okay so I applied and I got a message asking to call to schedule and interview and this would be my first job if I got hired and I am pretty shy but outgoing if I have familiar people around me so I am nervous they won't hire me because I can be timid of shy starting out

Hi Vivi and Arthur! I understand exactly what you mean! I was very shy when I first started at CB but working there def helped me open up more! The manager who gave my interview was easy to talk to so that helped a lot. Don't be nervous, it will go by fast!:)
@@lilisandangus I actually got the job and then I had another interview at Whataburger and they have me the job too so I ended up choosing Whataburger and the guy was supposed to call me a month ago on Tuesday so exactly a month ago and one day since today is Wednesday and I called a couple weeks ago because he didn't call me so I thi I I'm calling again today and if they don't give me something I'm done with the place (Whataburger)
What type of question they ask during an interview
From what I can remember, they mainly asked questions regarding my availability, why I wanted to work there, which position I was interested in, and questions about me. However, each interview is probably a little bit different. I hope yours goes well! :)

Hi! Sorry, I am seeing this so late! Its been a while now...but I think I remember saying something along these lines lol... I described the little "pamphlet stand" thing as being made of very high-quality wood and then mentioned the Cracker Barrel food being depicted as something very delicious that would want to be reminded of. I hope your interview went really well!

Cracker Barrel is a terrible place to work. I quit last year on my birthday without any warning.

I was 17 when I started at CB as well! I know how you feel, I was so nervous as well! But the good news is there's nothing to be nervous about! The interview was not bad at all and it will be over before you know it! I loved hosting! You're going to do great!:) Keep me updated

Hi! So from what I remember nails had to be kept to a certain length and natural or french, I believe. But the policies could have changed from when I worked there.

I am not sure since that was just my experience at my store. And I also had applied for the host position as well as retail. So if they know you are wanting to do retail, hopefully, they will let you! :)

how much was the pay for retail?
emma p I believe it usually starts of at $9 something per hour, but I’m not completely sure bc I never ended up working that position. Sorry!
All my retail friends were paid $10.50 starting, I was a host, started at $8.50 and worked my way up to $10 as a server. However, the retail manager is different from the restaurant manager so each decide the pay differently.
@@emilyworth5238 so the servers don't make 2 dollars an hour? I had a interview yesterday and they basically said I was hired but... I'm also basically hired at another job.
@@kaylamarie7621 I was technically a to-go server which means I got payed a higher hourly wage but if it was slow they put me as a regular server in the restaurant but kept my pay the same. The normal servers at my location were payed $5.25 an hour but got generous tips to where they made around 80 to 100 bucks a day

When you’re a server you get treated like shit by the managers. Just saying it like it is. Few servers are actually nice and side work is ass. You get paid 1.75 and hour plus tips, which includes side work, and rolling silverware. I currently work there and I do not like working here
