A nice design for sure Andrew. Goes back to an age where design was important to make you product stand out from the rest. Looking forward to seeing it up and running. ATB Doug.
Nice design. They do have a charm about them. I'm looking forward to seeing it progress. Good to have you back Andrew - I just need to find my own video mojo now...
I can see the appeal of the radio Andrew. It’s a lovely shape and looks very different. Nice job on the cleaning. I can have a go at retrobrighting that knob for you. It might take that yellow stain out. Looking forward to the next instalment. Cheers and happy Christmas
Hi Graham, the stain is residual glue. There should be a metal disc in the middle of the knob, something I spotted after filming these clips a couple of months ago
Coincidentally I have just picked up one of these as I was taken by the look of it too. Although it has the 'bright' in the middle of the tuning knob the cabinet is cracked quite badly around the bottom rails (into which the back cover slots). I'll be watching part 2 with interest 👍
.....originally the large front knob had a brass disc covering it completely, which was glued on..... the disc has gone missing, which is common I think on these, but unfortunately the glue has stained the plastic. I have one same problem, and one with disc still there , ( one radio brown, one black) and was gonna try and source or make a new disc for it. Great video as usual, Happy New Year !
@@Andrewausfa wow....be interested in that....I did buy some thin brass sheet off eBay as couldn't get anyone to make one, but that's as far as I got I'm afraid. Nice set, look out for part 2 !☺
Looks like someone's been in there before 🙂. Nice little wireless that. Does it have DAB+? Wasn't it you who mentioned me hovering and corrected me to vacuuming? Great watch mate thanks.
I was thinking a wooden toothpick for cleaning out the grill. The tuning knob looks like it might of had a shiney disk glued in. The odd lumps of squidgy stuff may be to stop vibration in the scale plate on high volume. You will have that radio happy in no time :-D You are disgusting... letting that tea go cold lol :-D.
Hi ZX, yes those were definitely anti-vibration mounts. They are three layers of adhesive backed rubber, like draught sealing...ish packed together rather than one solid lump of rubber

Very true!

Depending on how bad the cracks are, really thin superglue works but it's a operation you get one go at!
A neat little receiver, Andrew.
Thanks Theo, it is!
Nice radio Andrew, injoyed the video and look forward to the next part. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Sharp looking set can’t wait to see it run !
Thanks Keith, it runs!
That’s a nice looking set thanks for sharing
Yes the design is better than the actual radio, its different which appeals to me :)
Its looking like a good set!
It is George and thank you for it. Would have been better if it was a little more sensitive but it was a 'second' radio I guess back in the day.
