I’ve kind of wanted one of these since they first came out. Thanks Jason, for reminding me! It competes with the St Vincent with mini humbuckers in my heart.
What about the Mustang Jason? haha Nicereview anyway matey. Love some Harmony guitars! I have an old Harmony acoustic archtop from the 60's that sounds fantastic! Its my no 1. Cheers.
LMAO...I mean...the mustang? they're nice cars...that ford makes...thanks a bunch bud. I'd love to try a harmony guitar from the 60s. I bet it sounds amazing.
I think the tele twang is mostly the pickups; it sounds a lot like a Firebird and those are often referred to as a "tele on steroids". I know mini-hums aren't exactly the same thing but they put you in the ballpark. Thanks once again for an informative demo, I'm very glad to see Harmony back in full swing.
Awe, I didnt realize thats what Firebirds are often referred to. Perhaps I should give the firebird another chance. And you're quite welcome. Glad Could help and be of service. :D
I’ve got one of the bigsby versions. I put flat wound 13s on it and downtuned it to C standard. It’s an absolute beast and probably the most inspiring in my small collection.
I've been interested in these for a while, but I've never gotten a chance to try one. Glad to hear it plays nice. I think it could stand to have a few more different colours though.
@@JasonTMays make sure to grab one of the deluxe models. I’ve had both the premier and deluxe and there’s a noticeable difference in the fretwork and tone outta the pickups, SD vs Duncan designed I think. Plus you get the semi hollow warmth vibe in a solid body size/shape. It’s really a nice piece of work fam
I'm just not a fan of the mustang, I dont hate it. But I've used Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Starcaster far more. But honestly the Mustang would be number 3.
The Mustang body and scale length could be a cool basis for "super" versions (I also feel this way about a scaled-down, 24.75" Jazzmaster.), but Fender seems opposed to such designs because all of their marketing is built upon idealizing vintage instruments as though no progress has been made (partly because they do not want people to know about G&L Guitars).
Facts!!!! Dude, I love this thing! I will say I do prefer the Jupiter Thinline a tad bit more. But this is the unsung offset that more people need to know about!
Put a mastery on it and I’m buying it immediately. Also I’d love to see you demo a Mustang. From what I’ve noticed, it’s one of the only Fender offsets you haven’t covered.
Yea! I definitely have to do a mustang sooner than later. Funny enough, I filmed a video on the player 2 mustang but it might get released later due to other commitments.
@@JasonTMays The Fender Mustang 90 I had in 2016 had a great V-to-C neck profile. I had to sell it to afford prototyping my invention (an electric-guitar circuit).
@@Robstafarian that sounds like a super comfy neck, and it always sucks to hear about gear we have to sell, but it’s cool that it went to making a prototype a reality.
@@zach21197 Not a problem my friend, glad I can help. But I'll talk to my editor and see if I can make that happen a lot sooner since that seem to be a video thats in demand.

Not a problem!!! Im glad I can be a good reminder...FWIW...I think the Silhouette blows the St. Vincent out of the water.

lol! Yea, I wasn’t expecting that either.

I should downtune this one! I use to play in Drop B and Drop C. So I may give that a shot!
Harmony are quite conservative with the color choices. Would be nice to see some bolder colors, racing stripes, bursts, etc.
Not gonna lie, I'd love to see a racing stripe edition. But I know a few vendors have an exclusive colors.

I agree!!! A few more colors would be ideal! I'd love to see a walnut version...or maybe a Sherwood Green.
Nice review Jason! Does the neck feel a bit wider/taller than your typical Fender neck?
Thank you!!! For me, it felt a tiny bit smaller than a normal fender.
@@JasonTMaysCool, might need to try one out, I've been eyeing them on and off since they came out.
@@TheGreenKingdom Do it!!! It's definitely worth trying out! I think it's the most underrated offset of our time.
Yesssss may legit be my favorite guitar, thank you for validating me 😅

The D’angelico Bedford SH is a top 5 American offset for sure
I’ll have to get my hands on one.

I agree people sleep on these. Gotten slightly more expensive lately but I paid a whole 1100US for mine and it's one of, if not my favourite guitar.

I'd love a player ii mustang review as nobody seems to have really dug into that heavily. Maybe comparing with the vintera ii and performer?
