Heard this song for the first time a couple days ago and was surprised to find out that the lyrics don't mean much when I thought there was a rather profound message that you can obtain from it. At first I just thought it was literally about dogs attacking us from space until the very last line "We're living like a Prehistoric dog" which made me think what if WE are also the prehistoric dogs so I went back and thought about it in that way. An interpretation that I thought made sense anyway was that the prehistoric dogs are also human and the whole song is a commentary about how humans can in general be very barbaric (or prehistoric) and view other cultures/races/religions/countries as so different that we think of them as another species. The dogs coming from outer space could be more specifically talking about Russia or China and how as we start to take further steps into exploring space, governments are also looking at other ways to create weapons usable in space. The overall message of the song would be that we are killing ourselves as a species. Then I saw the video.
