Hi Dr. Natalie! Thank you for this episode, especially because I personally have HH (or FHA) and wrote to you recently to ask you about IVF particularities in HH cases - so I do not know whether my message triggered the topic or you already had it lined up but tremendous thanks anyway! My story so far with trying to get pregnant has been exactly as you outlined it - first I tried FSH/LH stimulation to induce mono-ovulation, had no success with several controlled cycles (each time either zero or multiple follicles growing), so finally decided on doing IVF, which I am in the middle of right now. I had my eggs retrieved last week, we already have at least 7 frozen embryos (some are still being developed) and next month I will be aiming for a frozen transfer. I have had issues with thin uterine lining in the past, therefore we shall see how it goes. Looking forward to your further content, hopefully also covering or touching upon HH!

Thanks for the video! I know you said e. Estradiol doesn’t show up as estradiol on lab work, is the the same for progestins and a progesterone lab test?

Thanks for this incredible video Natalie!! I have FHA and I believe I will need to do ovulation injections and IVF (I am 29 and would like to get pregnant in the next couple of years), how long do you think it might take for me to get pregnant from the moment I start with the treatments?

I was recently diagnosed with a microadenoma. I haven’t had a period since before my last child 3 years ago and I knew there was something wrong. Do you have any videos on pituitary tumors and losing fertility or menstrual cycles?

      Hi
I have the same and my doctor put me on cabergoline to bring prolactin levels down and my period came back in about 3 months.

When was this diagnosis discovered? I had a 5 year amenorrhea and no doctor could tell me what was wrong, they just told me my endometrium was atrophied, but otherwise everything was normal.

Thanks for the video. I have a high LH to FHS ratio and got Pcos ultrasound done. The test came back negative saying I don’t have Pcos. My doctor didn’t really tell me why the ratio is high. Could you please reply to my query? I haven’t been able to find any answer elsewhere

I was diagnosed with FHA last year, and have worked to heal it naturally. So far, I've gained 20lbs and my bloodwork showed some increase in estrogen, although it's still low, and taking progestrone has never cause me to bleed. Because I desperately want to get pregnant, my doctor prescribed Clomid, and it appears to have caused me to ovulate this month! (I'm tracking BBT and had progesterone tested on CD 21).
I was told that it works by directly stimulating the ovaries, and not by mimicking low estrogen. I'm hoping that the combination of returning to a healthy BMI and Clomid will be what I need. I would not consider IVF for my own personal religious reasons, so this feels like my only hope.
Do you think it's possible for this to work? The process of recovery has been one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do, but I feel like I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you’re not a vegan/vegetarian you could try animal organ supplements, I’m taking brain - hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary and female reproductive - fallopian, ovary and placenta - from ancestral supplements, if you’re in USA they’ll be easier to get hold of, although I’m in Uk and get them here but not cheap. They’re capsules and you take 6 of each a day, it works on like treats like and I’m a big fan of healing using nutrition. I’m trying to restore my once regular cycle that was screwed up by taking progesterone prior to an (unsuccessful) embryo transfer. I did a deep dive (as docs clueless) and it seems that supplement progesterone can shut down the hypothalamus ability to signal necessary hormone production signals ( exactly the same as what happens to women when they come off the contraceptive pill). Anyway I’m hoping this along with lifestyle changes and acupuncture will get it back on track. Sending you lots of luck and best wishes in your journey, as you said it’s the hardest thing most of us will ever go through, but v lonely really as no one ‘gets it’.

@@sunmoonstars3879 Wish you the best, too. I prefer whole foods over supplements whenever possible, and locally sourced, pasture-raised beef liver & heart as well as chicken liver, heart and feet are regular parts of my diet.

At the age of 39 years old and no period since coming off the contraceptive pill at the age of 30, would you recommend going straight to IVF to conceive rather than trying to regain the menstrual cycle? TIA. x
