I haven’t been home for over 40 years so you can imagine how happy this made me. Looks like you all had so much fun, all that fabric must have been hard not to purchase , I loved the Art Deco bag piece. 😄 ❤🇳🇱
Karen, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for sharing your awesome trip with us!!! How fabulous everything was! I don't travel so it was very enjoyable to see it from you!!
I wish I could have gone! I have been to Netherlands and Belgium, and done many of the things you did, but oh--just to see it all again--so wonderful. Why can't I be rich and do all the things?
Wow Karen!! What an amazing trip. Thank you for sharing your highlights with us. Great that you caught up with Irene from Sugaridoo. Look forward to your next adventure. 👏♥️🇦🇺
I am so jealous! I wanted to go on this trip, being a quilter whose great grandparents immigrated from The Netherlands. It looks like it was a wonderful trip.
Glad you had a chance to try lacemaking. There was a time a wanted to learn every thread-craft there was except weaving which didn't appeal to me. I just couldn't settle on one thing. Sewing clothes and accessories, crocheting, embroidery, knitting, macrame, string art, quilting. After collecting bobbins and books on a UK/Ireland trip in the 80's I taught myself some bobbin stitches? weaves? Not sure which applies. Also needle lace. Love the process and result but it just takes too long to finish even a small piece. Finally I'm happily settled into patchwork and machine quilting. But it was sure fun to learn all of these. Keep up the great videos!
Hi Karen, so glad you enjoyed our country and all it has to offer! I was really disappointed to know you were here and not being able to meet you all! Maybe one day…
That is so amazing. I am making Jake watch the video. Our next trip to the Netherlands will be way different! You can tell our Dutch family in Holland are not quilters!
Hi Karen, Great video ! You had great weather and saw so much ! Sounds like the tour was a success ! Thanks for cramming so much in this video :) Yes, it is challenging to have to edit when there is so much material to choose from ! :) Fantastic that you found that fabric with the houses also in Utrecht !
What a great selection of places you visited! A a Dutchie it's fun to see the wooden shoes in there too 😊 as a kid I didn't want to go outside without my red wooden shoes and my dad still wears them!
Hello, I am from the Netherlands and I love this video very much. You have seen a lot of beautiful regions of our Country and lots of famous quiltshops and markets. But the South of The Netherlands were I live is also very beautiful and has also musea and quiltshops. Maybe something to remember for a next tour. I am glad that you had a good time here.
Quarter square MICRO block quilt!!!!!! First time to see a roller flax break ))). I have an antique chop style. YEs grow flax in the front yard. Wonderful fun to spin. Intend to make it into 18c clothing for reenactment American Revolution. GADS it takes time.....
Living in Germany, although in the south, I know how wonderful the Netherlands are for anything having to go with fabric. Whenever I am there, my credit card is glowing and the bags and suitcases come to their limits. It is so nice to hear and see that you and your group had a great time! In fact, my husbands family (although he was raised in North York, Canada!!!!) comes from a village not far from Zutphen. The world is so small! 😊
@@beebusbossers Thanks for the Info. Too bad that I live in the very south of Germany and it already takes 5-6 hours (depending how full the 'Autobahn' is) to get to the Dutch border!
Wat leuk dat jullie het zo naar je zin hebt gehad in Nederland! Er zijn vele mooie, bijzondere dingen te zien, en er wordt fanatiek aan quilten gedaan!
Hi, i like watching youre videos for years , but this one makes me smile even more , i'm dutch , live near Elly Prins ,like to shop or order there , love the shop of Petra Prins so much and now i see you visit all those places here , i learn places for sightseeing i didn't know and think to myself; you must have been exhausted lol , seen the video of last year too btw 😄🤩
Thank you for the lovely summary. About what my friends want to hear and read. My longer version was interrupted and I didn't finish writing a trip summary.
Awesome video Karen!!!! Saw my bun head several times LOL. Even with my hip plaguing me during the tour, the ONLY regret I have is buying more fabric at the Lapjesmarkt. Hope to see you again some time.
Thanks for sharing ! The trip looks amazing. I wish I could have joined you. But you inspired me to visit some of these places myself whenever I visit the Netherlands or Belgium.
That looks like it was so much fun! And so interesting! As a native of the Netherlands, I would have loved to join you. Maybe you will do a tour there again sometime in the future. I will be there and happy to translate for you
Now I need to write down all those quilt shops. Where I live in deep France quilt shops are rare as hens teeth. Have to wait until I go back to UK for the touchy feely experience❤❤
I am asking for volunteers to make quilts for the hurricane helene survivors. They have lost everything. Winter coming and they need something to keep warm. Any and all quilters and quilts will be greatly appreciated and received with joy. Thank you.
OK, so when's the next trip??? I would LOVE to go on a textile trip like this one of these days...Appreciate all the time and effort that goes into planning something like that and the video editing you do to share your love of quilting with us!!!
Being from "Friesian" Dutch descent, I loved your tour highlights! Could I please have the names of the locations? I will be visiting next year .thanks Hester
What a marvelous trip you had! Curious to know what towns you visited while in Belgium besides Brugge? My husband is Belgian and I lived and worked there for 13 years before moving to the US. We'd also lived in the DRC (formerly Zaire) where he'd been employed by UTEXAFRICA. At the time UTEXAFRICA purchased cotton from farmers throughout Zaire, and in turn made wax prints.
Hi. Thx for sharing your trip. We are visiting The Nederlands shortly. Which shops would you recommend with the widest range of quilting material please.
Oh wow, do u regularly do textile tours? And r they open to anyone to sign up? Any info appreciated. I see a gal on FB doing one day textile tours of Paris, looks amazing, pls advise.
Hi Karen, Where can I find diagrams of arrangements of quilt blocks? I want to make a quilt to commemorate our 50th anniversary using 50 blocks. I can't figure out how to arrange them to get 50 squares evenly. The closest I can come is 7 squares per row, 7 rows equals 49, but I need 50. There must be many different ways to place the blocks, maybe with some sashing, to get 50 blocks. I'd like to see some diagrams. Do you know of somewhere online I can find something like this? Thank you! 💖 Nellie 😀
I want to thank all the participants in the tour for bringing your excitement and love with you. ❤❤❤ I hope to see you all at quilt-con
It looks amazing. How fortunate that all of you could go on this memorable trip.
A lot of elements aligned

Oh my word. The fabric, especially the street market! That had to take some real will power! Absolutely amazing!
As there was a pub at the end of the road to take a break if needed 😎
@@JustGetitDoneQuilts wow! A cold 1 after that, yea
Was the 25 euro stickers on the stalls meaning per metre I wonder ? If so that is even dearer than our UK prices.
Great to hear and see you loved visiting my country!
This was such a fun trip. Thank you Karen & Ann for making this happen. I love the video, it’s easier for my friends to understand my trip.
What a wonderful trip. I so wish I had been there. What beautiful sights and textiles everyone saw.
