- 🔰If you are reading this, Bukowski was probably speaking about you, watching a poetry video in the 21st century is definitely weird and strange. All I want to say is that I'm proud that this channel created a community of strange, kind, thoughtful, and unique people. Be weird, be strange, and be strong.
-Love, illneas
🔰This entire movie was filmed in the city I live in, which is challenging for me to capture views that I see daily from a completely new perspective also I chose the voice of Bukowski for this one.

The Strongest of the Strange
you won’t see them often

sometimes I think
I see

a certain old

sitting on a

in a certain

or
a quick face
going the other

in a passing
automobile
or
there’s a certain motion
of the hands
of a bag-boy or a bag-

while packing
supermarket
groceries.
sometimes
it is even somebody
you have been
living with
for some

you will notice
a

sometimes
you will only note
their

some months
some years

such a
one-

facing dreaming

Hello friends,
I would like to recommend the use of headphones, since I took particular interest on the sounds and noises this time.
Thank you so much for these videos. ♥️ They are greatest refuge.
please i ask only one thing: never stop uploading these videos... they are simply art. your art combined with bukowski.. it’s just amazing.
^^
@@Ana_leaf Thank you Ana. It's for those who don't go to Theatre or City's exibitions where they can meet other people the kinds of people that do not go to Pubs and Bars, restorants and discotakes. It's because of that. We can't meet. For those who are searching for love, and can not find one another. Even the airport or autobus stations are not able to have people meet and fall in love. Some people are up, some are down. Some people are rich, some are poor. Ultimate goal, looking for love. Searching for the one. Where is he?
@Iana White That's so nice of you, thank you ^^
“Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal.”
― Albert Camus
Can't like this for obvious childish reason.
Seems exhausting lol I however do my best to be anything but normal lmao
I see what your saying however the norm is usually the opposite of the deep dreamer or as he puts it the strongest of the strange
@@solvox5217the last thing you want is the crowd to found out. They will destroy you ,by any means necessary.
A man can do what he wants, but not want what he wants.
I wonder how many geniuses are out there, hidden, quiet...never to be discovered.
Bukowski wondered the same thing.
Tango Bango me too...
Yes 💔😔 especially introverts or people with social anxiety, they are always silent but once they speak up their minds they blow you away with their ideas and the worlds they live in inside their heads.
Many...
I am. Scope my soundcloud. And peep my insta.
it was around 2pm on Christmas day, a single stranger leaning over the edge of the hotel balcony roof. Alone and smoking his cigarette, looking out at the world whilst I looked up at him from the train station below. He had been there for quite a while I could tell, a strange stranger who I never saw again. I knew nothing about him and yet in that moment, it was as if I knew his soul as well as I knew my own.
This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing
Did you just describe as you saw Meursault from The stranger (Albert Camus)
I’ve read this comment many times. So much so, when I see the poem I think of this comment and how it adds to it. 👏
@@businessadvisor52 can you tell me which translation of that book should I read
I resonate with it.
He talks about the few who see things differently, and they stand out if you notice them.
But conversely, he's talking about the people you love and lose, and how you can lose yourself, to.
And if you find your way back, you become stronger for it.
🤯👊✊Love from Saginaw Mi
no, he is literally talking about boems and artists, people in solitude that find beautiful in the strange
Not coming back from this one
Like Robert Downey Jr
YES
Be unique, be yourself, people are uncomfortable with - individual people - who don't follow the crowd. You are looked upon as weird - an oddity, strange. But you don't have to march to another persons drum beat. As the man said, beware of those that seek constant crowds, for they are nothing alone. I have listened to many poems and read many books by Charles Bukowski, but for some reason it means so much more to me now. Take care X
"people are uncomfortable with individual people who don't follow the crowd." I understand that now more than ever and I needed a reminder so thank you for this
I've taken screenshot of this! Tnx🙏
The sense of melancholy in his voice! Bukowski was aching.
He was aching for truth or beyond that ?
Yes
So now u would judge him when he’s no more Han? He was far beyond your grasp probably for you to judge him, n probably far more experienced also while he must hav written this poem.
@@pradeepbhojwani8139 still he can be judged, when your life is so public you will be subjected to that. Personally I find bukwoski overrated. Just another man soiled in tiff of life we all go thru. Its just people started resembling with that later.

Limited or limitless?
To the heart of the matter.
It’s be better if the music wasn’t so loud.
'And from the best of the strange, perhaps nothing.'
I felt that. Like the poetry I feel like in my heart but can't put into words
We all have a voice, you just have to find yours. Maybe it won't find a large public, and so be it so long as you find a way to express the poetry that lives in your heart.
Look deeper
I feel like that's me.
I like to give the strangers my ears. To hear what they have to say and nobody else wants to listen.
Maybe because I always wanted someone to hear me.
Now I am this, this shallow shell of what I could have become.
I do not wish this for anyone, thus I make myself the ears for the strangers so they could be the best versions of themselves, even if this leads to their deaths.
This is beautiful
Beautiful, thank you. ✌
Listen to yourself.
Thank you for doing this. I used to do the same, except I didn't give them my ears. I gave them my entire soul. I saw with their eyes, listened with their ears, thought with their mind and cried with their tears. Especially the last one. Because unlike anybody else, he also understood me. Like no other. Until life's cruel ways drove him away from me. And since then I haven't had eyes, music, or tears. Only thoughts. Perhaps I'll get up and grow one day. Because there are so many beautiful people out there and I know exactly how it feels to never be known truthfully.
You will never leave this place whole if you're intending to fill the void of you that's missing in you with other people's stories. It's profoundly important to listen, but you've got some stories of your own to tell, don't let listening to everyone else's stop you from experiencing and telling yours...
it didn’t hit me what he meant by the end until “where did i go?” dam that was deep
what did you understand...i dont think i know it
@@ML-eq4rx The 20 year old who was "facing dreaming against the walls of the world" was the poet. The last line implies he lost that vital essence with age.
mike ludwig we all were once faced with opportunity - and many of us didn’t realise the potential we had. That was a genius.
he was the stranger
When you know someone like that, and all the while they were just a face passing in an automobile. It is heartbreaking when they are gone. But your life will be never be the same because of those fleeting moments spent with them. I remember such a one.
Bukowski thought the same.

Just perfect. He says so much with an economy of language, so easy to get wrong. He is a master at painting fully formed pictures by only offering us just a quick flash of language.
I love this type of art form you’re perfecting: Poetry accompanied by music and images that heighten it. Great stuff, keep it up.

I wonder how many ideas of great philosophers actually came from friends of the philosophers who shared their drunken thoughts in the late hours of the night; friends too unassuming and exhausted by the world to make their voices heard by the public.

I love how he sounds when he says “You don’t see them often” and “The strongest of the strange” when it comes from the author’s mouth it hits different.
Thanks Carson, for spending a short time of your life kickin it with me and giving the gift of charles Bukowski and other fine things that I appreciate more each passing year, would not have told you back then but I knew that you were a real one. Thank you Angelique, i try to limit my personal life moments but sometimes the line gets blurry
This is why Charles Bukowski is my favorite writer. Almost all his writing until he got married to Linda Lee Beighle in 1985 had an element of The Strange in it. I was happy for his happiness, but, missed his genius.
David Batteau I dunno, I thought the poems he wrote in the last year or two of his life were among his best. I found them to be a bit more inward looking, he was reflecting on his life and mortality. Just my opinion, though, his early work is obviously great, too.
David Batteau he’s a pretentious drunk yeah he’s insightful sometimes but over all droggy and insistent on his own self

I think that this poem talks more about the essence of people... it doesn’t necessarily need to be some ultra profound thing, it sometimes manifest itself in some gestures, glimpses, or even a way of saying or doing simple things in such a manner that make them unique.
This is how to enhance an already stunningly beautiful piece of work.

Is the picturization of the poem makes it easy to understand and memorable or it's limiting the imagination ?
I dont know,

I love this works, u're one of the maybe 5 stuffs i came here for. The fire
beneath my feat danced
Like it was
feeling its fire too
Life so wrecked
That it too is
as old as the old
man's tooth
Too weak but
useful , maybe
He drinks
the glass of water
It too shakes the waves
Cuz the attempt
to challenge
the notion of death
Scares the graves
It too is alone
It too is lonely
The greats were alone
Cuz nobody helped them
So they became themselves
It is hard to be yourself
And not be someobody
But it is just the blood bath
Of symphony's
That makes the fire more
Unique and special
It still amazes me
How quickly it
turned me into one
Of its own
Cuz i too feel like it
Yet i am unburnt
Tge magic of the dancing fire
It too makes me feel my soul
Against all tragedies
Aginst mine at least..

That's so sweet of you, thank you for watching
This is the poem of my life.
I've heard his voice once before (only to forget what he sounded like), but seen his face plenty. For some strange reason, I expected him to sound like Tom O'Bedlam. I couldn't correlate his image to his low-key whiny voice, initially. But his original voice suits him more; though it leans on weariness, it's remarkably crisp and strong, as if it'll hold him up.
And this photographic love letter, a poem of images, is so hypnotic yet tranquil. I get lost whenever I look at the sunlit waves, and then the next frame forces me to come to, only to find myself among strange but pleasant silhouettes on a golden day. I think, this is what they mean when they say what a joy and blessing it is to be living. Kudos to you for bottling rare and fickle magic so deftly.
A truly beautiful comment thank you for this. I shared the same feelings when I first heard Bukowski's voice. I really appreciate the compliments, you made my day.

Or accusing them of anything! Its a Zoo this Planet we are living on. And we all can and should live together next to each other without attaching each other when no body even provoked you.
