Front Yard Grass Converted to Basin & Pollinator Garden

Here is a great solution to replacing unused grass in a front yard. The grass was several inches taller than the front sidewalk so rainwater and sprinkler water alike would shed off of the property super quickly. We installed a 2 ft deep basin with rip rap rock to capture as much water as possible. We also put in a pollinator garden underneath the Ficus tree to fill out the microclimate. With the Christmas rain we got in the Phoenix valley we watched the basin fill up with water from unexpected sources as well.
