35,000 Gal Rainwater Harvesting System AZ
Просмотров 5998 месяцев назад
After Rio Verde, AZ lost access to its water supply, we installed a 35,000-gallon rainwater capture system using the client's rooftop and tennis court.
Permaculture Renovation in the Sonoran Desert
Просмотров 481Год назад
We completed this garden renovation for our client in Tempe, Arizona in October 2022. This entire project was based on maximizing the roof run off and ground run off during rain events. We installed 6" seamless gutters for the entire house, and the entire back portion of the house was routed to an 870 gallon water tank via a wet system underground conveyance. The overflow from the tank and the ...
Front Yard Renovation with Basins
Просмотров 822 года назад
This was a simple front yard renovation to give this home owner a privacy hedge for their front windows and to maximize the roof runoff that hits the grow beds right next to the sidewalk. The overflow will be the front lawn. Just by replacing the rock gravel with mulch adds a much lusher look to the front of the house. The soil will really start to transform after this first year of mulch cover...
Front Yard Grass Converted to Basin & Pollinator Garden
Просмотров 2082 года назад
Here is a great solution to replacing unused grass in a front yard. The grass was several inches taller than the front sidewalk so rainwater and sprinkler water alike would shed off of the property super quickly. We installed a 2 ft deep basin with rip rap rock to capture as much water as possible. We also put in a pollinator garden underneath the Ficus tree to fill out the microclimate. With t...

Washing Machine to Landscape Grey Water System
Great job! Your work is always good! Love my 10,000 gallon system.
2:25 that's not a switch, it is a valve. You're violating National Electric Code by running that water next to the electrical panel. Finally, the studer vent needs to be higher off the drain.
Failure... This system is not suitable for proper capillarity effect. When water loose contact with the sand your plants will not be able to absorb any more water because the sand gets dry. Clear enough?> You need to feel the bottom with perlite or sand instead the plastic pallet. (In my humble opinion) You are very close. Regards. Fred.
Well our customer’s vegetables over the past 3 years would beg to differ.
E puor se muove, Galileo. I repeat you are not getting the capillarity effect as soon the water losses contact wit the sand.
I didn’t even use sand in my wicking beds, just gravel, and they’ve been working great for years
Just subscribed! Excited to see more of your videos!☀️
Where in the country are you, and what side of your house are these on?
Phoenix AZ. These are on the south side of the home so they get plenty of sun.
dreaming
Are you in AZ ? Do you have a business my mom would love this type of wy
Yes we are a business. www.galaxygardensaz.com
SUPER KREATIF dan inovatif. KONSEP yang anda buat aku suka. SALAM kenal dari kami Banyuwangi java Indonesia.
Curious as to the all in cost for this project. I’m interested in doing a similar project.
I don’t have it in front of me, but as of 2022, it was somewhere between $20-$25k.
How do know when add more water?
We actually hooked up a 1 gph drip emitter from the garden line into it. When it overflows it’ll just drip out of the overflow tube and not be very much water.
Are there any vegetables whose roots are too deep for this IBC tote?
To be honest I don’t know
Priceless video. Thank you
Thank you Dan!
Sweet. Thinking of building an external laundry room this will help a lot. Is there a limit as to how long the pvc pile can be?
In LA, it looks like 100' of pipe after the clean out is permitted for the gray water system. I'm looking at the permit book right now, lol
I noticed you layer 2 sets of geo fabric and not just one. Is there any benefit to that
this is so rad
Do you travel for installation?
Where are you talking?
I live in Georgia. I would love to have a system like this.
take out the rock and put down mulch. rock is not helping keep that water in your soil.
No it is not. Converting our customers to mulch is sometimes a process. Plus hauling off rock takes a significant percentage of their budgets so sometimes compromises need to be made
Where did u get the plastic pallet inserts?
The ibc tote comes with One
You don't need a watering spout. You can fill the reservoir through the overflow spout.
I like your method!
Plastic bread crates will work as the plastic pallet 😊
You should do a video to show the fabric and sand install. Very cool.
Thank you. All we need is a space for the water
Where did you find the plastic pallets? Thanks
That’s brilliant, thank you!!! I have winters so my answer is to keep the inside & put a spigot on the outside.
Can I just put the hose from the washer to dump into a rain water tank without anti syphon?
It’s not recommended to hold grey water in cisterns or tanks.
@@GalaxyGardensAZ thanks!
Yes but you have to use it within 24h
@@kkfn thanks for reply.
Can I just install the garden hose attachment (without the irrigation pipes) and use the hose to water my plants? Also if using modern anti-siphon I don't need to install a p trap?
Yes you could use a hose. I don’t know the answer to your second question
