*Used to supplement the up stairs when it gets hot outside this works very well and **Fastly.Cool** Also works good when the upstairs gets too hot in the Winter from the heater.*
I have one and like the clean air. The door design leaves a lot to be desired. A tool for cleaning the charge element should also be provided given the unit cost and unique shape. You should also show preferred method of cleaning with water.
The door is so difficult to add back.
Video leaves out the step to reset the notification/timer lights on the front of the unit.
J. Casalino Hold the reset button
ytmndan Thx - I was actually trying to get Trane's attention that they need to add it to the video.
@@ytmndan Press and hold 2 secs to reset the red flashing light, and hold for an extra 2 seconds to reset the LEDs.
Is the part number of the Collection Cells "200" or "200-1" part of the paper part number or is it the number 200 molded on the edge of the Collection Cell?
Good video.
Did you ever get an answer? Same question.
My collection cells have a 200 on there. Am I able to clean it with water?
How often do we need to replace the collection cells? Bought a house with this system and woke up in the middle of the night with a burning smell coming out of vents. Shut system down cleaned filter. Hopefully that fixes it because I was slacking on cleaning it..can someone give me the life span of the collection cells? Cannot find anything online
Which side gets vacuumed - the air flow in,or the air flow out, side
Some of the pins on the charger are warn shorter than others, should I replace the charger panel?
Just vacuumed the filters on our unit and reset it. Red and yellow lights are flashing as before. I am worried what the problem be. We have cleaned the unit many times before, with no problem. Can some one give me advice, please.
At least your red and yellow lights work. Mine never did from the day the furnace techs installed it
@@mikejessmax door not on right or wired incorrectly
Am I the only one who commented to appreciate the Hawaiian shirt?
I wish these thing were repairable. It’s crazy to spend so much money just because the pins have corroded and fallen out. It’s a waste of resources to not have replaceable ionizing pins.
Yeah it’s how they sell you a new one.
Maybe they just sell that component and you clean more ofter because of your conditions
The narrator says you can only wash the units if they have "200 backlash 200-1 mark on them". This is not well explained. If you download the 'owners manual' (google for 'trane clean effects owners manual'), page 8 / figure 16 shows that there will be a huge '200' OR '200-1' stamped /molded into the plastic frame on the side of the cell, below or near the part number. Use of the term 'backslash' is very misleading in this context.
I first vacuumed mine, and then blew with a can of compressed air, and finally rinsed with water. A MASSIVE amount of dirt came out when I rinsed, which tells me vacuuming and blowing is nowhere near enough. Tip - put a large white plate or bowl in your sink below the collection cells while rinsing. This will give you an idea of how much dirt is coming out, and whether you need to keep rinsing or not. I ended up doing 4 or 5 'sessions' before the water ran clear.
On my unit, a 1-2 second press of reset cleared the prefilter light, but a second 1-2 second press did not clear the collection cell lights. I had to press/hold reset for about 5 or more seconds before the collection cell lights dropped down to just 1 green led.
On my unit, I didn't clean for about 2 years and the lights still didn't go past green. Now, I live in CA so we don't use the heater all that much, and nor do we use the AC side that much - so maybe we never accumulated enough 'run time' to cause the lights to go amber/red.
I'm curious to know how these cells work; all they are, are narrow tubes for the air to pass through. They are electrostatically charged to attract the dust, I get that - but when the power is removed, and the charge dissipates, what stops that dust from becoming loose again?
When I got this product no one mentioned numbers on the frame of the filters I've always washed them, just like the A/C installer told me to.? And since I have aa second set I let them dry outside in the Sun when the weather is good.
How does this compare to a HEPA filter?
Trust me save your money. I have one and it sucks! Thank God I have a HEPA bypass on my system. Get yourself an April air media cabinet hell of a lot cheaper and you will be extremely happy with it. Trust me I do this for a living
@@anthonyvarano1143 i agree, The whole collection cell sounds fancy and all and after 6 years you can tell the needles have started to discolor and become black. Theres no way this collection cell would do its job properly if you dont have a high merv filter installed in the return vent. IF air is passing at high velocity through this thing and you have no filter in the return vent then this thing would not be able to trap the higher particles and it would become a mess. Most people dont understand about merv filters and end up using creap fiber glass filters. Also that collection cell thing that looks like a honey comb after years of use develops a funky smell that not even washing it gets totally rid of it. IT sure worked really nice when it was first instaled and run. It gave a clean smell that was really nice but it probabbly lasted for the first few months
So these are reusable filters? Can you buy new ones?
Is this all you need or do you also need to supplement it wih a regular filter?
Hello! The Trane CleanEffects replaces your typical HVAC filter.
I have this system...very happy so far!
Is the 2323 -1 filter washable with water
You didn’t explain how to reset the lights.
Trane doesn't make it easy for the homeowner, the lights are a pain along with the DOOR, and whoever designed this thing needs to go back to engineering school.
@@gaylagold5751 Yeah... that door. I was in a hurry and it took me 10 minutes the first time trying to put that thing back on.
Good video. I have a video on my channel installing one thanks.
I might add you still can figure out how to keep DUST FROM ACCUMALATING that is another DESIGN ISSUE !!!!
Who designs these furnaces ??? The design of the Filter Install is horrible ??/ Put the Filter in in a "V" way leaning up the sides as if they are going to stay in that position. This is 2023 and someone came up with the grand idea of an Electric Vehicle and WHAT a FURNACE THAT IS EASY TO DEAL WITH AND FILTER IS IN COMREHENDABLE ??? EVEN the THERMOSTATE IS FROM THE 20'S the size is a 3" X 3" dah there are people with vision problems and for some reason YOU WANT TO HIDE THE THERMOSTATE in a HALLWAY that is not seen in the first place..... Come on get on the ball with your design . BTW RENTER'S are incapable of taking care of a house let alone thinking I need to change the FILTER ???
