I learned over the years dealing with hd fowler love woven platic road fabric 3/4 clear and great for when building swampy wet roads. 4 inch crushed ballast. I learned a lot working as the repair guy on a crushing company you do nice work.

Preach on brother!! I think back on the years and some of the things ive said to people out of anger or just plane meanes. Sure wish i could take it back. God has worked on me a lot over the years and i find myself thinking before i speak now..... most of the time lol. Far as the road goes its my favorite thing to do also. Every foot of a road can have different challenges. That's my favorite part.

Loosing your phone on the job site reminds me of the time I hand dug a hole about 6’ deep to install an electric service into my barn. After I back filled the hole, I realized that my phone was missing. I redug the hole without finding the phone. I found it later that evening on the kitchen counter.

Lol, I'm glad you didn't lose your phone. I lost mine last summer while I was on a bush hogging job. Luckily, I had the ringer turned on. I went and asked a neighbor to call it so I could find it which I did, plus I didn't run over it. The brighter side was, I made a new friend with tge neighbor. Super nice guy and USAF veteran.

Every guy that has big equipment should always have 2 brand-new batteries in their work truck at all times. Never seen anyone who didn't have at least one dead battery in a machine.
An extra battery would be nice but the problem with that is every machine takes a different size/style battery. If you store up extra new batteries they also have a life expectancy too. So it’s just more efficient to buy them when you need them.

You are right, Sam. It amazes me what we can do with our equipment. We can build or tear down things with our equipment. But the equipment can not do it by itself. We have to use our mind and body to help the equipment operate to do what is needed. We also have to apply our mind and body to work to bring people closer to Jesus. I have always been amazed by the equipment. But as I have gotten older and grown up and grown in my faith. I know that serving God and others is way more amazing than the power of the equipment. Great message, brother. Also, I just got off the phone with my pastor talking about a young man in my youth group who has decided that he wants to be Baptisted. This young man has a lot of things working against him in his life. Some he can control and some that are not in his control. But he is always at church on Tuesdays nights when our youth group meets. I have been encouraging him and the other boys in the group to attend church on Sunday. Some do and do not. But I told them a few weeks ago that if you come join me in church on Sunday this week. I will buy you lunch. So, this kid texted me on Sunday morning. I'm coming to church this morning, is your offer still good. I said yes. Well, not only was he there but also his mother. Which was great because she had not been to church in a while either. So I told him we would love for his mother to go to lunch with us also. An they did. They have been back every week since. But my point to this is. If you take the time and serve others, it is amazing how it can change people and bring them closer to god. You also came up in me and the pastors conversation because he is also an equipment guy and a man who serves God and others. I told him all about you, your videos, and your messages. I also shared this video with him. Sorry for the long comment, but I like to share God's work with you and others. Have a great weekend, brother.

Hello Sam, love your post. I keep seeing that slow cranking packer. And as a 30 plus diesel mechanic my mind zeros in on that starter or cables. I hope the battery cures it but there's a place in Kingston called DB electric that has some high torque diesel starters and they will have your packer firing up like nothing else. Hope this helps and again I'm checking daily to see what you have posted. Keep posting, love it
Hey thanks, I appreciate the info on the packer. I did get the battery changed after this and it spins the engine great but still hard to start. I’m thinking it’s a fuel supply issue like loosing prime or not enough fuel pressure. Sure would like to have it starting better though…

Brother I’ve been a Pastor for many years and I wished all those that have a platform would take the time to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. God has given us all a gift but many want to think of a gift as being able to sing or play an instrument or speak and teach the word but if people would look you are using your gift of equipment operation to do just that. If folks would search and find the gift that God has given them then use it to glorify him God would take those people and they would do and go and be apart of things they never imagined. Thank you again for your ministry stay strong in the King and I’ll meet you someday.

I did enjoy my time working on civil engineering projects, much more than housebuilding.

Best way is to start out part time with a skid steer or a mini excavator and get the jobs you can do with one of those. Up until about 4 or so months ago I used my phone and an app called Kinemaster to edit the GoPro video footage. Now I use an Apple IPad Pro which I really like. I’m still using the Kinemaster editing app to edit videos. Kinemaster is easy to learn and use and not overly complicated.
