WOW, and on a very short runway no less, I was a crew chief way back in 1968 on C-141's , and these C-17 make my old C-141 look so small compared to them, but I loved the C-141 and flew on them worldwide when I was only 19-years of age no less. God bless all of you Vets that served, BTW.

When all plane's land they put the engine/s into REVERSE THRUST TO HELP SLOW THEM TO A STOP!, DO THE SAME WHILE ON GROUND REVERSE THRUST WILL PUSH THEM BACKWARD!. HOPE THAT ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION👍.

No flight can go in reverse direction on runway of it's own without tractor push back

yes they can. I worked at the CDC(customer delivery center) for the first 737 model. The test pilots would use the thrust reversers to back the planes up all the time.
Watch the shadows.

With thrust reversers and braking, they can land on shorter runways than taking off, unless possibly using JATO assisted takeoff. This however is a simulation.

Nice CGI. All planes with turbofan engines have what's called a thrust reverser. It's primary purpose is to slow down the plane upon landing before the brakes are applied. They can actually be used to move the plane in reverse. American Airlines is the only air carrier that used to use it for that purpose.
Depending on the design, not all jet engines can reverse thrust to back up. Only some can.
Flew on the Marine Corps version of a couple of these. Interesting that one of the two... built for troop movement... the other was for refueling so a big fat fuel tank in the fuselage. But the one for passengers... the seats faced the planes tail. That was a unique experience!
