      Word of advice, get yourself a backup stand alone recording mic such as the *ZOOM h2N*, then use it as a room mic so that in case your main gear plays up, you have the backup! that has saved me and my band from losing quite a few songs and riffs that would have been lost forever due to the other thing playing up or losing power or whatever the case may be...This audio loss does happen man, I have had it with recording my band's songs or solo ideas then I realise it did not record and try to recreate it only to be too tired or forgot what the random spontaneous thing was that I/we did! Luckily you still have the video, my band is just audio, it is all we have...lol

    DISPOSITION/REFLECTION/TRIAD. It is such a symphony, in three movements! Surely these three songs were an early precursor, a blueprint, for all of Fear Inoculum. These songs were all growers. I confess I skipped them many times, being at the end of the album and not living up to my expectations of hard rock. But as time went by, Lateralus and these three songs are the ones I keep coming back to.

      @@dirkdiggler6316 Well look man, I'm not about to get into it here, but I haven't worked for them since the NAMM show...and it wasn't my choice to stop our working relationship.
      From what I can gather it was a misunderstanding, and while I was hit pretty hard by it at the time....I harbor no ill will toward them and still respect them both very much. I was incredibly lucky to ever have worked for them at all. I learned a lot, got in some great and unexpected experiences, and hopefully helped to represent them and their channel through the work I did.
      I still support them and the village from afar, and have later gone on to do work for other village members (made a lyric video for a Cradle of Filth song for Ian, as an example). I wish things could have gone differently, but it is what it is...if you wanna get a little info from Vin and Sori, i suggest watching the Knotfest concert review...right around the hour mark if I remember correctly.

    It's really nice seeing you growing into tool. Especially in this video one can clearly see that you enjoy all those subtle changes that always change the whole feeling of the music. I had the pleasure to discover tool while I was still at school. And like you said: It changed my way of listening to music. Tool made me enjoy extraordinary music. The downside is that nearly every popular song or music my friends listen to just seems to be simple and boring while they don't get into the music I like ;)

    Mate dont get too caught up in what is said about the meaning of the song or others interpretations of it. Listen to the song, preferably on a version with no lyrics the first time . Feel and live it like you are starting to do. Worry about overthinking it on a later video. First and foremost its what the music and what you understand of it means to you, and how it makes you feel. I have always felt that by spending too much time on lyrical analysis, much of what Tool offer is overlooked. No other band Ive encountered can take you on such an angry, hopeful, pessimistic, positive or euphoric journey like these 4 individuals can. (Dont get me wrong I overanylise the crap out of it sooner or later, but not the first few listens.)

    • @luiscypher1307
      @luiscypher1307 4 года назад

      You've heard that The Patient is about MJKs mother from TOOL themselves or just from others personal interpretations? There have been occasional solid explanations for songs like 46&two Jambi Stinkfist Ænima & many others but your right Scowl face for the most part they are few & far between,personally i find most of TOOL's songs fairly self explanatory with pretty straight forward non-ambiguous lyrics & themes.but of course as MJK said & you so eloquently quoted they are completely open to the personal interpretation of the listener so even the meaning of those straight forward songs i think I've figured out are just my own personal interpretations theorys & projections,if the meaning behind them is not actually confirmed by the band themselves then everything is just 'whatever' we want to get out of them. Still its probably not wise to perpetuate false or unconfirmed meanings just based on our own personal interpretations or the personal interpretations & projected perceptions of others. I got some damn good theorys though,lol.

    • @luiscypher1307
      @luiscypher1307 4 года назад

      Not being facetious mate its just the way i write,i cant stand passive aggressive facetious types actually,its a rudeness borne of ego the world can do without. Ænima is my favorite album incidentally i intend to be buried with it.I was introduced to Opiate/Undertow by a friend but admittedly i only liked a handful of songs then Ænima came out & it pried my third eye open forever,lol. TOOLs been my nemero uno ever since. As for lyrical meaning i agree most songs required maturity to fully fathom some like i mentioned were seemingly straight forward while others required research & Internet sluthing. As for the meaning behind The Patient well my 'personal interpretation' i don't think it has anything to do with MJKs mother Judith i actually think people read the title & naturally assume its about her when in fact hes actually referring to himself as the patient both in an exaggerated medical sense but more as in waiting patiently,a patient with no patience so to speak,what i believe MJKs referring to in the lyrics is the very tedious frustrating process of creating music with his fellow bandmates exactly as he described it to Joe Rogan on the JRE podcast. Thats why he completely opts out of the song development stage nowadays & just lets the boys do their thing then once their finally done he takes the music away to add his lyrics. In the song he talks of walking away if there was no reward at the end not typically something someone would say about their infirm mother imo anyway thats part of what i think its about just MJK reflecting on his career & internalizing his distain for the whole broken collaboration process at the time,there may well be dual meaning or lines that allude to some strained inter-personal relationship issues which could literally be about anyone in his life if not multiple people? But thats all purely speculative as is my interpretation or anyone elses unless otherwise confirmed.

    • @luiscypher1307
      @luiscypher1307 4 года назад

      Yeah man im a deftones fan i only own two of their albums tho so i wouldn't say im full on into them but i'lld kill to see them live one day,I've done the same with SOAD & RATM lyrics in the past,lol. Sometimes the obvious can be a deceitfully duplicitous mirage,only the creator knows the true meaning behind their own creations & sometimes even they forget.
