The true "Holocaust", destruction by fire, in case your warped mind still struggles to come to terms with, are the firebombings of German civilians, and the nuclear bombings of the Japanese. German concentration camps and the resulting deaths of inmates don't even remotely come close to the definition of "Holocaust".

An important detail that is easily overlooked among the horrors is that guards were not forced to work in the camps: they could decline and return to normal combat duties, probably on the Nazi-Soviet Front. Meanwhile the Nazi government became so obsessed with its war of annihilation that men were taken from the front lines to increase the rate of murder until the last days of the war. Old men and boys were left to defend their families and the remains of their homes from the Red Army because the soldiers were doing the "far more important" work of genocide.

Had nightmares for quite some time as a child. My school taught us and showed documentaries that were not censored. A particular scene plagued my mind as I watched bulldozers moving mountains of the starved and naked bodies into organized piles. Bodies were treated like slabs of concrete and this image stays with me till this day, and amongst all the things that I have been unfortunate enough to witness, this image is still one of the most haunting. It is way beyond me to even begin to comprehend how humans can inflict the kind of horrors that they do to one another.

    • @renejean2523

I remember learning of the Holocaust when I was 13. My little young mind couldn't understand why or how this stain on the history of humanity happened. I never understood how one man could lead a nation to do such atrocious things. I remember telling my teacher and asking "doesn't this seem to horrible to actually have happened??? What if it's just a horror story???" I was crying as I asked. The teacher explained to me that yes it did happen it was real and we teach this moment of history to hope it never happens again. I was also happy to learn that not all Germans took part of the atrocious things and some tried to help fight the third Reich. The stories of those that fought back and those that risked everything to save so many touched my heart yet my heart remained broken that the Nazis did this and got away with it for so many years. I remember the field trip to the Holocaust museum and how sad and dark it was. May the many victims rest in peace.

Take a good look at me and tell me you have never been there. I was one of the "dogs" you told your men to round up for execution.. I just imagine any survivor there hearing him say that felt so disrespected and angry that they couldn't contain themselves and possibly blurted something out cuz they want him having zero chances of freedom, whether that day or after a 40 year sentence. Death or life in the most inhumane conditions(Alabama prison system) are the only fitting punishment.

You must understand. The leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. The October Revolution was not what you call in America the "Russian Revolution." It was an invasion and conquest over the Russian people. More of my countrymen suffered horrific crimes at their bloodstained hands than any people or nation ever suffered in the entirety of human history. It cannot be understated. Bolshevism was the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant of this reality is proof that the global media itself is in the hands of the perpetrators."

Nice voice work. It's a challenging subject to cover. Both my sets of Grand Parents ended up in that war, fighting the Nazi's. War sucks.
Remember next time you think things can't be any worse. They can. Terrible people have been murdering one another from the beginning. That wasn't a long time ago.
I had this Professor back in college who liked me. I liked him too. His deep booming voice. Classic old fashioned glasses. Thick White hair and beard and always dressed for court. He was like a character right out of Fiddler on the Roof. His classes were not easy. This guy knew his sh!t. He would call you out. He would make you laugh. He was cool.
One time he said to me, "Sometimes, what we think is a big deal... isn't. When it is, you'll know. Are you going to go with the flow? Are you going to swim upstream, against the current. You can quit anytime you want to. But! You don't. You keep on going. That's how you make it. You just keep on Chug a lugging!" Then he checked his watch, and when he did, I saw his tattoo on his wrist. He noticed my eyes had fixated on it. I said, "I'm sorry." and he says. "Don't be. It wasn't you. My watch usually covers it up." Then gave me his wrist so I could see the whole set of numbers poking out from under his watch band. We're standing on a busy staircase and students are moving by us. But, I'm pretty affected. I looked up into his eyes, which were very deep brown, like mine. I could see an astonishing sorrow. I looked away and I got choked up and he just put his hand on my shoulder and he smiled the most genuine smile ever. His eyes smiled. "I'm still here." Then he tapped his watch and said. "See! I gotta keep on chug a lugging!" He walked down the stairs. It freaked me out.
What a badass that man he was. He was a German Jew and he was at several camps. He and his sister were the only ones from their family to make it. Pretty intense.
His name was Dr. Antz Llepps. I am truly grateful to have known him.

Wait, the most saddest moment of mankind would be allowing the Soviet Union to sit on the Nuremberg trials.
Wait no, the most saddest moment in mankind’s history is the allied powers ignoring the 20 million Russians the Soviet Union Lenin and Stalin regime murdered before WWII.

At first, they shrug, then they answer something like, "I would cure all diseases, I would heal the world and make it a better place, I would bring peace to all countries and peoples." Well, these people and thousands like them were gods not for a day, but for years, and this is what they did. Absolute power not only corrupts absolutely, it also raises the beast within from its slumber. And I fear this beast sleeps in all of us, so it's up to us to tame and control it.

@@spiritsplice I am well aware that Schindler's list is not a documentary that stays completely accurate to historical events. It is a fictional movie based on real events and of course that means that it will have to adopt some creative license. However to call it anything other than a movie inspired by real historical events that is littered with harsh imagery as it should be, is to my belief a disrespect over the work of all of the people who presented this movie. Of course you can not like it. There are many people who do not like it. If you wants to have cruel realism and actually watch a documentary about world war 2 I suggest: Night a d Fog
32 minutes of pure actual footage of the horrors of the camps
And then there is Shoah. The masterpiece that took more than 10 years to complete and is actually several hours long.

@@TheUsagiNew. It isn't remotely accurate in any way at all. All of it is fake history. It isn't based on real events. It is based on the delusional fiction of imaginary persecution.

I think the eventual Auschwitz video will certainly be in that ballpark. The script is in progress with everything I know so far, but won’t be complete until after I actually visit the place. I feel that it definitely needs on-site research for that one.
As for other topics, if I feel I can write sufficiently without waffling, then I will happily have longer episodes. 👌🏻
Thank you for the sub, I really appreciate it. 😇

Would you please tell us where the British Gas chambers were in those camp. The consent ration camp in the South African were where people were concentrated to keep them under control to deplete the Boers ranks. Yes they were cruel places but there were no mass exterminations. Don’t twist history.

A lot of people seem to think that most Nazis escaped justice. After the war, more than two million German SS and regular military personnel ended up in Soviet POW camps. The SS personnel were served justice with some executed for war crimes and others sent to Siberia as common criminals. Of the regular non-SS prisoners, none were sent to Siberia unless convicted as war criminals. Regular POWs were given tied jobs in western Russian and East European cities to rebuild after the Nazi destruction. A few decided to return home, but many settled in their new homes, married local women and got on with their lives. We only hear of the SS criminals that escaped justice in the West, but countless numbers were brought to account in the USSR.
