That's EXACTLY what I want to happen (for them to meet someone better). It's just like how we all are before we played competitively. We are top dog of our own circles, then we find bigger fish to fry. Once we see we can't beat them, we turned to learning why or quitting. We can't force people to delve deeper, but they probably won't even get to that crossroad if they never even start.

The only gripe I have is the audio balancing. It'd be cool if you could add a little list of bnb combos at the end of each character section as well.
I personally think the characters you showcased were great. Each had a simple and easy to explain plan of what they wanted to do and how to do it.
    Keep it up!

Good stuff. I've had this for a while and keep meaning to learn it properly. This is just what I needed to kick me into gear.

My question for you is, how did you first get into fighting games? I'm showing "easier to win with" characters because that's fun for beginners. I don't think fundamentals is what draws people to play games. Also these characters have tons to work with for fundamentals. Kensou has a fireball/dp game and his sweep for footsies, Antiairs with vice. People will want to learn more after having fun and having a taste of victory

The hope would be that their loss makes them strive to improve, but the fear is that their early tastes of success will just make them salty once they find someone better than them, and they may give up.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Henry. To answer your question, I started with Vega in SFIV so I didn't exactly start out winning. I definitely understand the point of view you have, but I think then the question becomes do we want people to just play KoF for the sake of messing around with friends, or is the hope that they actually get some desire to learn? The concern I have is say they use these characters and win. What happens when they meet someone with stronger fundamentals?...

Not really... All you need is a rival. Someone around your skill level who'll challenge you to improve, and in turn you'll challenge them. In that fashion, even if it's just two people, you can level up. The key factor is that both players need to want to get better.

Even with that reasoning, I personally wouldn't say Vice belongs on that list, arguably not Beni either. The rest are fine, however, as long as people who want to get good at the game realize what they should be focusing on to improve as a player.

i understand where your coming from, but take it for what it is, more exposure for a great game on a very popular FGC channel. There are more guides people can turn to if they feel this isn't good enough, so to me this tutorial series is slightly ok.

I disagree with every choice in this video except for Shen. A beginner doesn't need to pick a character that is simply hard for others to deal with, i.e King, Beni, Kensou. What they need to be picking are characters that will help teach them fundamentals. "Beginner characters" shouldn't mean "easier to win with" in this scenario. They should pick characters like Daimon or Billy to learn how to fight with normals, or Andy to learn a basic fireball character and simple mix ups etc.
