No other city is as Patriotic as Gatlinburg during the 4th of July as we celebrate in a big way with the very first Independence Day Parade in the nation. Gatlinburg's Annual Fourth of July Midnight Parade has been named a Top Ten Parade to see in the US by National Geographic Traveler Magazine and as one of the Five Best Fourth of July Celebrations in Smaller Cities by Livability.com. Gatlinburg also hosts other events like Gatlinburg's River Raft Regatta and the 4th of July Fireworks and Drone Show plus you will find many other Gatlinburg businesses celebrating this holiday with many festive 4th of July events.
During this time, the streets of Gatlinburg are filled with Appalachian music from Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales and be sure to take advantage of our free Gatlinburg Trolley.

Celebrating a nearly half-century tradition, the 49th Annual Gatlinburg Fourth of July Midnight Parade will line up July 3 at 11:59 PM and kick off at 12:01 AM on July 4th, ringing in the “First Independence Day Celebration in the Nation.” ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year Nominee and GOLD-selling Country music hitmaker Conner Smith will headline the award-winning parade as Grand Marshal, ushering in the patriotic holiday in a procession of red, white, and blue.
This parade named as one of the “Top 10 Parades to see in the US” by National Geographic Traveler Magazine, will march through downtown Gatlinburg, beginning at the Baskins Creek Bypass located on East Parkway. Festive floats decorated in sparkling fashion will line the Parkway featuring patriotic marching bands, larger-than-life balloons, and more.
The First Independence Day Parade in the Nation has garnered national attention and award recognition for excellence in entertainment. The parade has been named by National Geographic Traveler Magazine as a “Top Ten Parade to see in the US” and recognized by Livability.com as one of the “Five Best Fourth of July Celebrations in Smaller Cities.” Additionally, the event has earned multiple Grand Pinnacle Awards by the International Festivals and Events Association.

You mentioned you left your chair and went walking and others set theirs out the morning off. Have you ever came back and someone moved your chair or have you heard of that happening? I ask because in Florida, lol if the chairs were there somebody would've definitely moved them
Chairs being in place for the parade doesn't seem to be a problem here. I could see the city enforcing not allowing them to be there early someday, but we have not heard any stories of people stealing chairs.

My first time ever I am coming there July 15-18 Does any places around Gatlingburg and pigeon forge every place take credit card and debit cards and cash ? Or is some places don’t take cards take cash only when shopping and eating and Etc… ? Just some places prefer different situations. Please comment back if anyone knows . Thanks . 😊
