    Majority will go for model Y. As you get older, you'll notice getting into a low profile car is so much harder on ur knees and back. And having a hatch back is so much easier to transport big boxes, snowboard, bikes. The trunk rail is a inhibitor for storage on the 3.

    “99% of the time it’s enough space”. Hard disagree. Ur opinion is heavily shaded by your personal use condition. U have use for 2 ppl. Haven’t seen whether u own dogs? But no kids for sure. Do u know how many ppl have dogs and kids- u fill the space so easily with kids sports, vacations, bringing the pets along. I say it all the time, so many of the RUclipsrs analysis- talks I’ve included- are complexly lacking the average family American’s perspective on what constitutes adequate cargo room. There is a reason why Americans love bigger cars

    • @JEP-Tech
      @JEP-Tech День назад +3

      I don't have pets, but I have kids and I 100% agree. I drive a small economy car when I just need to quick trips around town or go to work. But I needed a larger 7 seat SUV for my family. If minivans were still common and cheaper, I would have preferred to go that route. Would love a plug in hybrid minivan to eliminate fuel costs on short trips and provide the needed range for long cross country trips, but there's few options and they are more than I'm willing to pay for a car. The Lucid Gravity looks like a promising SUV with a ton of space and great specs, but it's a luxury car and even farther out of reach for the average family.

    I really think the Model 3 Performance in Quicksilver or Ultra Red is the best looking car in Tesla's lineup, front and rear. I'm just really put off by the rear of the new Model Y. Moving the license plate down to the rear diffuser leaves a big blank canvas right above it and below the lightbar. Not too much of a fan.
    But I hope that the Model 3 also gets a minor update soon with the turn stalk and a front bumper cam.

    I have ‘24 M3P. I recently had a MY loaner for service on my vehicle. I was initially excited to try out the MY for a couple days, but ultimately I couldn’t wait to get back into my M3. It’s much more of a driver’s vehicle. It’s more grounded and less bouncy. Everything about its handling gives the driver more confidence. I enjoyed the visibility the MY gives and see how the hatchback could be useful, but it’s not as fun to drive.

  • @TecnamTwin
    @TecnamTwin День назад +3

    The biggest difference to me between the Model 3 and Y is the hatchback functionality of the Y. You can fit much larger objects back there. That's why I love my Volt. Kids call it Daddy's spaceship, but I call it my cargo-car because it can fit rather large items in there easily. The Model 3's trunk opening is just too restrictive and wouldn't allow me to pick up half the junk I want off Facebook Marketplace. 😁
    If the Model 3 had a hatchback, it'd be the obvious choice. But it doesn't so it's not.

    I have always thought the model 3 looked better than the model. Why! But one of the things that really does come up in conversations with people I know that choose the model y over the model. 3. Is something that too many never mention on videos. A model 3 is very low to the ground and the moment you've ever had a van or an SUV or a truck, it is difficult to start falling into a seat in a low car. And the fact that the seats are the exact same in a model y except they're on a stand and the vehicle itself is higher changes the game completely! I drive Uber and I really don't need a model y, but it hurts me so much for so many of my riders who are older or heavyweight to try to get on these seats. Seats. And then people who are not overweight or old still seem to grunt as they try to get in these seats because of how low to the ground this car is. I've gotten used to it myself, but I am certain that I am doing more wear and tear on the bolster of the seats and on the trim at the doors because you're just hitting them so hard.

    I agree that the refreshed Model 3 looks better than it's Model Y counterpart. However, IF I were to buy a Tesla, I'd still go with the Model Y because hatchback. Being able to lift up the entire rear of the car, fold down the seat and make the back end one huge cargo area. I'd happily trade the Model 3's better looks for that. I also believe that the power seats are a waste, if Tesla wanted to put something extra into the car they should have gone back to full manual climate controls, like every ICE econobox I've ever owned.

    Have U moved a 40 gallon and a 50 gallon water heater at different times in your Model 3?
    No? OK then.
    Having a trailer hitch on the Model Y also allows for attaching a cargo carrier, which makes it much more pleasant to carry ten large bags of stinky mulch and fertilizer on the outside of the vehicle.
    Also, rocks, bricks, bags of gravel, sand, large shrubs and small 6 foot trees in large pots and other heavy and dirty material can be carried by the Model Y.
    These items are too heavy for the lower trunk lid of the Model 3 to support and don't fit in the M3 trunk.
    Have a utility trailer? Model Y offers a factory tow hitch.
    The Model 3 is ok for those who don't work on their own home, or have everything delivered or done by contractors or lawn care services.
    Owners of a 2021 M3 and 2023 MY, and many ICE pickup trucks over the last few decades.

    Drew keeps trying to push this size doesn’t matter crap on us. The model 3 is a starter Tesla which is fine. Buy what you can afford but it’s a BASE Tesla for a younger buyer with a small/no family and less income.

      Yeah base still ain’t cheap for most Americans though not just young.. 7500$ off msrp helps especially AWD version but still Tesla is a premium brand. Prices are not supposed to be that cheap

    I’m so confused what’s wrong with you people they left the same side on the model three when they updated it and there was no complaints about that now that they did the same thing on the model Y you complain about it

    If they went full Cybercab design, the Model Y would lose its Model 3 DNA 🧬.

      I think it already has lost its Model 3 DNA, it should've picked a side, now it's half in two camps

      Yeah, it looks like they tried to differentiate it from the 3, unlike the old model Y that just looked like a bloated model 3.
      I personally think the new performance 3 looks the best in their current lineup. I think only the headlights on the new regular model 3s look good up front (the back is perfect). The bottom half of the front face is where the new AWD and rwd model 3 fall flat for me.

    It still looks the same body wise, just new head lights and tail lights and same boring interior. Not interested in getting it. There are so many people who have the current model and its getting old, especially the shape of the vehicle. They need a bigger change, not a small little refresh.

    I thought the model y always looked stupid with it's camel hump roof. Whether I like the new Y design will depend on if the roof hump is less noticeable with the new design. And of course how it looks in person.

      I thought the same way for three years, until owning one for a while and then becoming accustomed to the look.
      Now it just looks normal.
