My dear cousin just past away last week due to breast cancer and I just wanted to say that you posting videos regardless of hate and doing what makes you happy here makes me happy in the midst of loss and mourning . gouloue means 'glutton' in french. I suspect Nars named this after a famous dancer who modelled for Toulouse Lautrec. She was nicknamed the glutton as she loved food, wine and life in general. Here is her biog from WikiLouise Weber (13 July 1866, Alsace-Lorraine - 30 January 1929) was a French can-can dancer who performed under the stage name of La Goulue (French pronunciation: [la guly]; "the glutton"). She also was referred to as the Queen of Montmartre.

I was actually gonna post this exact comment! She also danced french can can at the very famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. If it is indeed based on La Goulue, that would be a wonderful art/history reference from Nars
Goulue is more accurately an adjective meaning "greedy, gluttonous, voracious", in feminine form [describing a women; goulu is male]. As opposed to the noun glouton/ne meaning "glutton". And the pronunciation 'guly' is misleading -- /y/ in IPA isn't an English /y/ sound, it's like forming your mouth to make an /oo/ sound [as in moo], but instead making an /ee/ sound [as in me] -- the closest approximation in English for goulue is goo-loo. :-)

i would recommend the ELF highlighter brush or the real techniques fan brush! (i'm loving your look today by the way, your skin looks AMAZING!)

Kelsey Hoffman- Moonstone is my favorite pressed highlighter. I apply it with my It Cosmetics fan brush or small tapered powder brush if I want more intensity. It's not in your face highlight but it looks so natural when the light hits your face. Love ❤️
She should definitely try applying with a brush if she hasn't already and than lock it in with setting spray
I agree. Putting highlighter on with the fingers makes it fade like 5 times as fast, don't know exactly why but it's true. Try a brush only with setting spray. I'm super oily and becca highlighters stay on all day.

Katie Pie Try what they suggested- scrape the top layer off (I used a spoolie), once you get through the top layer they're much softer and show up well. Also try a denser brush as opposed to something like a fan brush.
Amanda Howard maybe I got a dud then because I have scraped off the top layer and used every brush I own.

Cassie, try wetting your brush to put highlighter on! It should help with pigmentation! Love you xx
Maybe if you dip into the highlighter and then spray it with fix plus spray or whatever it might make the pigment more intense and last! Or just use them as eye shadows so they don't go to waste 🤗
Omg Cassie I have the same problem with highlighters! My skin goes between either REALLY dry or REALLY oily, but I found that these tips help me to get my highlighter to stay. The first tip is putting a creme highlighter on first and then top it with a powder. It's going to be more intense, but it stays longer. The second tip is around the same concept, but when you put on your powder, don't set the part that you're going to put highlighter on the put the highlighter on the foundation. This gives the highlighted something to stick to. Really I'm sure you could find other ways for the highlighted to stick like spraying your brush with a setting spray before applying or something. Same for the colorpop pressed shadows which were also sent as Pr and I tired so much hearing of ppl talk how pigmented they were yet we never heard the durability as Cassie told us about in this brief round up. Shera Bechard If you haven't tried them yet I highly recommend checking out Hurraw lip balms! & if you like coconut the Yes to Coconuts lip balm is fabulous.
I haven't tried the blur stick, but I recently got the cooling water one and have been enjoying it. I stick it in the fridge and apply it in the morning to help with puffiness. It leaves a slight tackiness and blurs my pores some (I have more dry skin and large pores aren't an issue for me).

You are my favorite youtuber!! So real and relatable!!
Two thoughts. First, try just using the Milk primer just in the areas where your pores are the largest, not all over the face. I use it only in the center of the face, the area most people bake with powder, and it works beautifully.
Second, Makeup Geek makes an exact dupe of that NARS blush. I believe the shade is Covet. It doesn't look like it at all on the website or in the description, but I have both and I swear to you that side by side, in person, they look exactly the same, and the Makeup Geek blush is only $10.

I know the struggle, I'm Soo pale highlighter doesn't show up that much on me, and especially trying to bright under the eye, I literally use white powder without brushing it off. And you can't even tell lol
Jessica Lilly try Jeffree stars highlighter in ice cold! It's the perfect highlighter for pale skin. I have extremely pale skin and this one just works so well. 😌✨

Try the essence eyeshadow in snowflake! It's pure white and only a couple dollars, I'm pale af (Casper translucent ginger kid here heh 👻😅) and it works perfectly for me!!
Not far into the video yet, but you look beautiful in this! Your skin is looking fantastic and that lipstick does wonderful things for your complexion. I always love your videos and I'm glad you still have the same favorites format. the orange lip looks great on you, it's more like a pinup red vintage-y color than straight orange. it makes you look like you could be in an old photograph, in a good way.

I dealt with the same thing with the becca highlight until I put underneath the new wet and wild highlight stick then put the highlight on and OH MY GOSH it is really beautiful and glossy on my skin!! Try it !! The stick is 5$ and worth it!!

I agree the Tarte foundation is perfect for dry skin, it is my number one foundation and I can't live without it, full coverage and lots of moisture.

How come U don't use a setting spray? Skindenavia has one formulated for oily skin. For me it's a must have.
P.s. Mac Fix+ isn't a setting spray.
I do use a setting spray!! And it's not MAC's Fix+ lol ;)

Uhm you can use mac fix+ as a setting spray, it depends on your skin type. I have normal skin and mac fix+ works wonderful for me.

Cassie maybe try using a dome shaped brush for your highlight. I used to use a fan brush and fingers and my highlight also wouldnt last. Try a domed one! Wet it as well for more intensity

I noticed that in the background you do have fan brushes, which I love using for highlighting. Maybe you could try to use the fan brushes to highlight and then see if there is a difference with the result? Much love
