⚡️QOTD: What tripod are you currently using? What features do you look for in a tripod? LMK! 👇👇👇 Also, check out other videos in our BEST Budget RUclips Equipment series here ➡️➡️➡️ bit.ly/BestBudgetGear
Right now I'm using a generic 80" tripod from Amazon. At 6'5" it's hard finding decent taller & stable tripods, but I still might give this one a look.
I have an Ambico V-0552 Tripod. It does what I need. I also have a DIY PVC monopod that is held up by one of those green plastic Christmas tree stands which can go up to 7 feet. I don't really need anything that tall but I figured, why not, just in case. It has a very small food print.
ARE YOU READING MY MIND!!!! I seriously just put in a search for best travel tripod and am looking to upgrade what I have. Thanks for the video. Travel More! Worry Less!
The two ball knobs are for different purposes. The large one labeled "Tilt" is to set drag for moving the ball. The small unlabeled one is for locking/unlocking. With two knobs, you don't lose your setting for drag when locking/unlocking. Of course, you can also use the "Tilt" knob for locking or to help lock if you want maximum security but will of course lose your drag setting. For a monopod, you can also remove the tripod head and screw it directly to the monopod leg and not use the center column. It won't be as long, but you can do it faster without having to remove the center column. Another feature you wouldn't know about unless somebody told you is the reversable stud on the top of the center column. For the tripod's own head, the thread is 3/8-16. But that stud is easily removable and reversable and the other end is 1/4-20. Very handy if you have some 1/4-20 threaded device you want to mount. They no longer have the clip holding Allen key wrenches but instead just provide 3 sizes in a plastic bag. And it also comes with a plastic cell phone holder.
I definitely prefer the flip lock. I have found that the twist locks can involuntarily slip and slide. Not a very good feature when your trying to take a picture or shoot video. Then again, that was on a relatively old tripod, the newer ones may be better.
I use a Zomei Z818 tripod, and have a Manfrotto tripod as my secondary. The Manfrotto is an all plastic build and is kind of wobbly, which is why it's the secondary
I need to get a second tripod, and I'm currently deciding between the MACTREM 80" and this one. I personally don't like to raise the center column and prefer that the legs end up as close as posible to the ballhead, because I have found that in windy situations that detail adds extra stability. I like that the MACTREM 80" lets me raise the camera a little farther, but if this one is taller without raising the center column, I'll definitely go this one; plus I like the blue color...lol. Thanks for the video.
How does this compare to the 75" version which has more of the ?standard pan and tilt head?, overall To me it seems like the pan until tilt would be quicker and easier and so you don't get wonky pans from being a little off with the ball, also this one has no handle to pan with from what it looks like so you use the camera instead so it seems like the $30-35 might be a little better other than little less heavy duty and you can't invert the camera, but what about the panning is it actually alot smoother on this one? Maybe I'm just inexperienced and the issues I see are not issues, any advice welcomed, thanks.
Does the mounting plate cover the battery for the Canon M50? Couldn't quite tell from the video. If I can swap batteries with it on, that'd be a huge benefit as well!
I was a nikon user but I want to swap beacause of Canons filming capabilities. Is this a good setup: Canon 77D with Canon 50mm 1.8 + Tamron 70-300mm. Any suggestions, camera wise or lens wise?
Great video as im looking forward In getting a tripod. though I have a question. Let's say I decide to get this tripod and if I wish to use it with my iPhone XR, I would still need to get an adaptor right ? Which adopter should I get that would fit well with this tripod ? Thanks in advance!
Haha That’s awesome I just looked for a Tripod for Windsurfing filming and photography. On German Amazon I got a 50% Discount and they are offering it over here for 39,99€ now i got it for 19€ that’s so cheap. I’ll try it out thanks for that review.
Your this first one on here that suggested wd-40, I keep a 3oz can in my bag most quick connect plate issues are just simple those little parts sticking
Try RemOil, it's basically silicone in a spray. wd-40 eventually dries out/cakes up, rem oil (developed for and used mostly by gun owners) remains smooth and fluid for years after one application.
IAM gonna buy this it really looks comfy thank u 😍 you just make our decision s easier I wish I could use your voice as to bring some motivation in me it's like if I listen to your voice I get so much enthusiastic about life thank u
Hey, super useful and nice review! Could you put the specs in CM and Kilos as well for your European audience in your next video? I just feel like it could be very relevant for every person living outside of the USA who would like to watch your videos. Thank you! Cheers from Denmark and France.
Cool tripod. I like the turquoise color. I just ordered the Andoer QZ-278. It has the screw release legs, unfortunately, but it’s only 13” when folded. That was the big selling point for me. I was looking for something very compact that I could carry in a small backpack.
I should have bought this tripod instead the one I got... I wanted a cheap one for travel... yeap it is a cheap one for travel. It is not holding well and it was driving me nuts in the summer. This one definitely looks like a good choice.
loved this video! Unfortunately the MACTREM CT62 is no longer avaiblie on AMAZON. I looked around and tried to find another retailer that sells this item and to no avail. Asking curiously if you may be able to direct to another know website or if you have any other suggestions! Thanks for this helpful video!
What about the Geekoto 77 tripod? Going to do a review on that. It's almost the same thing as the mactrem. It has that K&F snap legs as well. Would have loved to see the monopod selfie angle like if you're vlogging.
At what price point to we need to look at to go all Arca-Swiss mount(s) - and I hope I used the correct term there. I'd like to have the few tripods and Joby Gorillapods I own to have the same Arca Swiss mounts. Thanks!
I had the flip lever locks on my tripod (NOT this brand though) and I don’t know what happened but the lock broke (I guess) and would slide and it wouldn’t lock. I couldn’t get the lock to stay it kept sliding down the leg.
The head is removable and mounts to a 3/8-16 stud at the top of the center column. Also, that stud is removable and reversable and the other end is threaded 1/4-20. Very handy.
A trick for a lubricant for things like trip legs is to use a wax. Like a car wax. This will make them move smoothly and, not being wet like oils, won't attract dirt.

is it pronounced heighth now, with a "th" sound at the end? is that a thing now? I always thought it was height with a hard T at the end but I'm hearing the TH way of saying it here and there recently....
@@CubingTube I'm telling you, someone where I used to work would pronounce it like this all the time too, no clue. It might be an actual thing. Lol. I'm not judging, just never really heard it that way until recently.

I think he meant to say a heavier camera, since the m50 is considered fairly light..🤣
If only everyone that did a tripod review would say how tall they are. Thanks for being a problem solver Sean. You're a beast!

Scott Tovey agree. I also find flip lock to be faster for setup and tear down on the the go 🔥💯
such a great review! I'm on the search for a tripod for photography and I'm sold on this one. thank you so much for going over the details.
I'm using this for filmmaking, and it's going great so far.
Hands down, the flip lock is my preference. Thanks for this video. I've been looking for a versatile tripod without dropping a lot of change.
Just purchased my new tripod with your link! Thank you! 🤗🌸💕

Brb - going shopping. Thanks for the amazing videos time and time again!

I use a Zomei Z818 tripod, and have a Manfrotto tripod as my secondary. The Manfrotto is an all plastic build and is kind of wobbly, which is why it's the secondary
Thank you for showing everything this tripod can do, especially how to use the monopod. I have one and didn't know how to set it up.

I bought a "neewer" tripod like a year ago for 50 and has been great 👌👌 it's very similar to this one
They all look the same
I had mine 3 years still good asf
That's fantastic, that thing is awesomely feature rich. Between the weight, pay load, and monopod feature that's an awesome product.

How does this Tripod compare to the GEEKOTO 77'' Tripod or the K&F Concept 62"?
Tripods with this type of leg locks only locks in the outward position but can easily be kicked or bumped inward.

Only thing that is missing is how low does it go. How does it look when all the legs are put in.
You can reverse the center column to hold the camera between the legs and lower it all the way to the ground.
