Great video. If time allows, could you show us a guide on how to optimize site speed for this Square Online Store? I am working with a client and it is slow according to page insights Google tool. Great video once again.
Thank you and hope it was helpful. In terms of speed, the only thing you can do with Square is image optimization as they don't give you access to anything else.
Thank you for such a great and useful video. Square is also horrendously slow for me. I read your article blogging about e-commerce. Is there any way you can make a video dedicated for SEO and blogs using the "slow" square platform!?
No problem and hope it was helpful. If you are having issues with performance, then it might be worth considering moving to a different platform as this plays a part in SEO and also user experience. Tbh when it comes to blogging, the same principles apply no matter which platform you are using.
Great video!! Could you go into depth on the 301 back links please? Is this possible to create for items that are no longer listed and deleted from my website?
does a video tutorial to accompany the blog help for example if i took your you example of a polo shirt as i find for my self a video is easier to follow as people lean and understand thing in different ways
@@EcommerceGold also with opencart there has been many changes since this video the layout sections is now different and does not take you to the coding view and can choose layout I also don’t find Shopify does not have the feature opencart the product urls have collections in them then the product name which is not best practice
As I haven't done a video on opencart in nearly 3 years, I would imagine that some things have changed. It's not ideal with Shopify in terms of URL structure but product pages can still be ranked.
No problem. Yea, there should be an option to download the file in their order confirmation email and from the order history section of their account are.
Thanks for a great video! So, I have over 1,000 products and have my site set to hide anything that has a zero inventory. Does that mean I should re-direct all those items pages? Many items I won't re-stock once sold out. And if I do re-stock them I would need to go back and delete the re-direct again? That sounds very time consuming :(
No problem and I hope it was helpful. Ideally, you would want to add redirects as it seems like Square doesn't do any kind of auto-redirect for out of stock items (which would be a nice feature) to prevent there being 404 pages on your site but it is up to you if you want to spend the time doing it.
great video !!! do you have any SEO advice for services offered instead of products?? Thinking I could create products and just not have them listed on my page to buy yet maybe they would show up in the search still ? hmmmm :))) I offer a particular style of deep tissue massage in which i massage with my feet. anywho, blessings :))
Thank you. SEO is basically the same for products or services, so you would create a service based listing and optimize it for people looking for that service.
Probably the only person covering SEO in relation to Square Up. Thanks.
It is a very niche subject but hope it was helpful.
Thank you for making it make sense, I'm getting rid of the social media. And I'm going to focus on my square page... I had no idea about the story...
Thank you for this!! I’m currently building my square website ❤
No problem and wishing you nothing but success with your store.

@@EcommerceGold Thank you for your reply! i appreaciate the insights

Thank you :) yes, as long as you know what the URL was, you can add a 301 redirect for it.

Video tutorials are usually helpful and can enhance a post, I've done videos to accompany most of my tutorial posts.

@@EcommerceGold I understand Shopify can still be ranked but for me this is a deal breaker thanks for you honest reviews though
No problem and hope they have been helpful
Great video - can you have a pdf file for sale on your online store please?
Yea, just create a digital product and add the pdf as the file.
@EcommerceGold thank you for your reply. So customers pay first then they automatically receive the pdf file? Thank you heaps again 🙂
No problem. Yea, there should be an option to download the file in their order confirmation email and from the order history section of their account are.

anyone know how to remove the square icon from showing up when you google search your website. it should be my logo not square's
have you changed your site's favicon?
Maybe this was years ago, but now unless I subscribe doesn’t seem like I am able to pick any templates to start my website.
I've had my square account wrongly deactivated... help
I don’t work for Square, you need to contact them directly
does this help your company show up on google?
it can do but there's no guarantee that it will

No problem and I'm glad it was helpful but I wouldn't be getting rid of social media as it is an important marketing channel for online stores.
