I have bought a similar Ciclotek Swing trike here in Spain. I love in this particular model the place of the battery. It is genial as you always have to fight against the thieves. I live in a small coastal resort and this kind of a bike is just a fantastic aid when shopping or just cruising around. I love that I have the aid of the batteries but at the same have the pedals like in a normal bike, so when batteries run flat, you are not in trouble. Fantastic for a person who does not really need a car:)
This looks like a great trike (I never learnt to ride a 2 wheel bike, kept falling off!) - where I live its really hilly, so the pedal assist would be good, but the way some drivers down here drive, I'm just not risking it!
hi what's max weight the basket will take I was thinking my old dog could ride in it? (without having to tow a dog bike trailer) Also what are the 3 levels of battery assist you didn't go through them? Will it run without pedalling (ie like a mobility scooter would if your legs were tired) or pedal freewheel if batteries went flat so you could still get home? Oh lastly.. could I charge battery in house if bike was kept in a shed that didn't have plugs? Thanks
Kati thanks for getting in touch, The basket in the rear will carry up to 40kg so if your dog can fit into it the trike will be able to carry it. The three levels of pedal assist are Low / Medium and High. Obviously the high mode increases the amount of assist the trike is giving but reduces the range (the range is 20 miles on pedal assist and 15 miles throttle only). You can ride the trike throttle only and so no pedalling is required, you can also pedal the trike like a bicycle as well. The battery can be charged on or off the trike all you have to do is take the battery into the house with you and charge it there. if you need anymore info the please do not hesitate to contact us on 0116 2997798 or enquiries@fosseelectricbikes.co.uk
Fosse Electric Bikes the ride would be a mix I'd easily manage downhill and flat but would need help on the uphill parts!, so the pedal assist or throttle wouldn't be used continually for the entire walk..only the bits I'd struggle with. Can you give inner basket dimensions of the space where the dog would lie and how high the basket sides are so I can measure her laying on her cushion? Thanks very much.
Fosse Electric Bikes hi, sorry I mean How can the battery charge , with a charger plug it in.. or just when pedalling it charge it self. I didn't got how it's work yet. Raouf regards
A few years ago I had an electric mission trike and I found that I was unable for some reason to push it backwards. Because the UK doesn't cater for trikes and there are often tight spaces to wheel a trike through sometimes pushing it backwards and forwards (a sort of 3 point turn) to get it passed spaces created for 2 wheelers is a necessity. With the Mission trike I had to get off and lift the back wheels off the ground and around. Can you tell me if the Batribike trike 20 can be push backwards.
Zandranna thanks for the comment, yes the trike 20 can be pushed backwards. If you would like to speak to us about this trike then please do not hesitate to contact us enquiries@fosseelectricbikes.co.uk
+Fosse Electric Bikes I would think the pivot system would make this easier to turn the frame such as trying to to get through swing gate/kissing gate or round a post? I have this issue with mobility scooter and reason I was thinking of trike... a few places have like 3 log sleepers in a row with a gap between now a bike you could lift over I think even a trike if you get off you can lift front wheel over first sleeper then over to second and back end into first gap etc to cross it... of course with a heavy mobility scooter with low ground clearance this is impossible! Can you ride it in fixed frame mode though if was going over more bumpy ground (eg a playing field) so frame didn't keep tilting. I have ataxia so would worry I'd fall off, but can see how the tilting frame might make it easier to get round some obstacles/into a shed etc.
Kati Lea Thanks for the comments, the tilting frame absolutely make it easier to manoeuvre the trike over obstacles kissing gates and swing gates etc. As you say if you were to lift the bike over the logs the front end of the trike is the same weight as a normal bike so no problems. Once the front is over it would be easy to roll up and push the back wheels over the logs. The trike can be locked in position when riding but I don't think there would be an issue with riding it over bumpy ground in the pivot mode. If you're interested then please get in touch via 0116 2997798 or enquiries@fosseelectricbikes.co.uk
+Kati Lea - Hi Kati, I have the tilting trike and the chap in the bike shop I bought it from told me it's not meant to be ridden in the locked position. But because I have balance problems I do ride in the locked position. I think the warning not to is simply because if one is riding too fast around corners it's possible to tip over. In other words it's just the manufacturer covering itself regarding health and safety. So just make sure when riding locked you don't speeed along. I tend to ride locked when on a pavement or narrow space and pivot when on the open road and want to go fast. I have ridden over very bumpy ground (through the woods) in the locked position but I didn't go very fast. Also take the battery indoors when the weather falls below zero to charge and when not in use for long periods every couple of weeks put the battery on charge for a several hours. I don't ride in the mid-winter and my battery is now indoors and being fully charged every 2 or 3 weeks.
+Zandranna I have to go out daily anyway as have two dogs, but one is old and 15years old she usually rides in dog bike trailer which makes scooter longer and restricts further where we can go. The Batribike has the biggest basket to give her more space in back, without me having to take an extra dog bike trailer that's what attracted me to it. I was looking at the Trike R though and was told basket was 60cm x 60cm and looking at measurements that one is a bit longer and wider than the tilting Batribike. It's longer and wider than my scooter so where to keep it as it doesn't fold is a problem, maybe they should make a folding model too? What worried me about the tilting one is I was planning to attach a bikejoring harness to front so my young collie would run ahead pulling and I'd pedal (freewheel) on the off-road tracks. I was worried if we hit a bump the bike would tilt automatically throwing me off it and of course my old dog who'd be in the rear basket! I never thought of other electric trikes not being able to be pushed backwards though as surely in freewheel it would just move where you pushed it?
Hi, I am from Singapore and I love this trike. I wonder of this allow on Singapore's road? I don't mind having one of Trike 20 for my work as i work about 5-7 km away from my home. This trike will be ideal for me to ride to my work place.
looks like an awsome platform. but if you live anywhere of any hilly veracity of any kind what so ever. i don't see that dinky 250 watt doing much assisting especially when its loaded with groceries. swap that with a 1kw and it should be OK for most situations. and i would offer battery upgrades as well a 20 amp-hour battery would be nice to have.
+danz409 Thanks for the observations. The European limit for the motor is 250 watt but it is quite surprising at how powerful it is. Since the video was posted battery upgrades are available up to 16 amp.
oh man. poor Europeans... sad they can play with RC cars more powerful than the e-bikes on the road, can they? i can see a limit being put on 1kw and anything over requiring licencing registration and being driven like a motorcycle. but just nothing past 250... yikes...
danz409 I do agree with what your saying. The motors are limited to a speed of 15.5mph so why does it make a difference what the power of the motor is? This is the EU regulations though so not much we can do about it.
+danz409 These type of vehicles would be allowed but they wouldn't be classed as a 'bicycle' and classed as a motor vehicle. Therefore they would need to be registered, taxed etc and the rider would have to wear a crash helmet and only allowed to ride on the road. This would be the same for any electric motor over 250 watts. This proves to put a lot of people off purchasing as they want to ride the trike with the same freedom as they could ride a regular push bike. This is the reason we stick to the 250 watt motor.

Thanks
Can you upgrade the front hub easily to increase speed
with throttle can i do say just 10mph? and with the leverage system i prefer not to use it around a corner? would that be ok?
Yes this would have been fine.

Interesting stuff. A friend sent me here to look it over.

the link does not connect . I like the idea of the mobility of the pivot point. this is th only one i have seen like that.
Very nice electric trike. Too bad there is absolutely no way to get to their website from my phone in the US. No URL links work!
These are no longer produced I'm afraid.
If you have any questions about this trike then post them on this comments section and i'll answer them as soon as possible.

One of the main points you never addressed was the average range of the tricycle per charge !? Also, is the cycle available in Canada ?
Sorry these Trikes are no longer available.
Can this adds to carry one more passenger at the back?
How much it costs an Asian buyer in Singapore?
I suppose you could fit a child seat on the back of the trike if required. Sorry we only sell to the UK.
