Viribus Trio electric trike review: Just $849 for an e-trike?!?

  • The Viribus Trio electric trike is a surprisingly high-value electric three-wheeler. It's simple and basic, but still fills an important role for shoppers on an extreme budget. For just $849, there's not much to complain about here! (viribusbikes.c...)

    With the low speed and lack of creature comforts, I don't reckon this'll be for everyone, but at that price? I can absolutely see someone with a shorter, slower commute benefitting greatly from this, especially if they need to haul a lot of stuff that'd otherwise be uncomfortable to carry on foot or on a bike. Personally, I think it's always good to see vehicles like this come out and make e-cycling more accessible for everyone involved.

    Viribus is taking a step in the right direction. With prices for everything going crazy these days, they are making E-triking affordable again. Great review!

    It's $649 now. Mine came today, but it takes way more than 2 hours to assemble. Wish it had a front basket tho, for my cat. :o)

    Do not buy this trike, I did and the disc brake holder that is on the bike that you attach the brakes, has been welded on is a slightly wrong spot, what does that do, your brakes don't work. What did Viribus do, offered me $50.00, REALLY this makes this bike a danger to ride, it does not stop correctly and pulls to the right. They are marketing this bike to older people. The next E-mail I received for Virbus, they offered me $200.00 and I get to keep the bike, I don't want this bike, I want something safer to ride..........Well Virbus, your turn

      Oh yeah 😎? 50? Either pay a welder to repair fork or purchase a new fork. 24inch wheel fork can be replaced with a 26inch fork ( 26inch wheels and tires are much more available than 24inch). Might even find a used 26inch fork ( maybe the entire bike) for $50. Carefully match the diameter of the threaded top of the replacement fork to match the "head tube" of your Trike. Good luck. I purchased my Viribus E-Trike December 2023. Amazon $829.00 Walmart was $899.00. 12-20, Walmart discounted the Viribus E-Trike to $699.00. So I bought one. Very comfortable. I personally do Not like any kind of suspension.
      E-Trike is a single speed. Saw that Viribus also makes a 7 speed. Amazon $289.00 Walmart $360.00. Amazon was my choice. Dual axle chain. By reversing the rear axle think I can covert the Viribus single speed E-Trike to a
      7 speed, by adding a rear derailleur and a 7/8 speed freewheel set of gears. The purchase of the 7 speed Viribus is to add a 6.5 horsepower gas Predator motor from Harbor Freight to convert to a Go-Cart Trike. With front and rear Disc Brakes. Good luck with your E-Trike.

    I have a Lectric XP Trike that I use for walking and running my dog. When I clean up after her, I tie her to the trike. Parking brakes are a necessity if I don't want to chase my trike into the next town.

      that is what I was going to do, I have a friend that is a amazing woodworker, and he was going to build me a seat for the back, kind of like a little rickshaw, so I could take my Granddaughter to PK4, there is a well traveled trail through the woods, on the cul de sac behind us, that comes out at her school. Unfortunately my bike arrived with a flaw that I can't seen to get the company to fix.....So if you a buying a Viribus buyer beware.

    At 75 a trike is likely just around the corner. In my younger days I did a lot of long distance touring. When parking with packs, I always had to position the bike just so against a wall, fence or tree. My concern was that the front wheel needed to be positioned just so. If not careful, the wheel could roll and the front would change angle and the bike would fall. My EMERGENCY BREAKE WAS a small wedge shaped rock that I tethered to the break cable housing with string. Simply active the brake, position the rock between lever and lever housing and you are set. Now I have a length of Velcro One-Strap double sided strap. Very easy to use (for many things) and it is set up on all my bikes.

      Rad also locks their top speed to a similar one
      It's a bandaid to prevent instability when turning without including a proper differential.

    • @lucasimmons075
      @lucasimmons075 7 месяцев назад

      Like the previous reply, it is actually quite dangerous to go faster than about 15mph on a trike. Faster than that can make a bumpy or uneven road quite dangerous and cause you to tip, let alone turning at that speed

      Plenty of after market solutions. A cheap plastic bit to hold the brake lever is all you need. Even a rubber band....
