Hello everybirdie! I am re-posting Sandy's message for those who are not on Facebook: facebook.com/FOBBV/posts/pfbid03jnMA7QFx9NBTMcLSEqaYdfy67obMCdx5WLyDkdfTtMgLHZuTjGDhPfxB8XTNi3fl "Jackie and Shadow, Nature and eggs… Over the past few days we have received an amazing number of comments and feedback from our global community about Jackie and Shadow. We appreciate this amazing outpouring of support! Please rest assured that our team is working as fast as we can to get back to everyone and address all inquiries. In the meantime and to assist in answering some of the more pressing questions, we will use this official Facebook page to update you and report our observations: We understand that everyone is worried about the eggs, some afraid to watch the cam, some afraid to turn away. We wish there was an obvious pip that we could report, but so far, there is not. We do not know why or how. But that is nature. Eggs 2 and 3 are still within the possible hatching window. Egg 1 is probably not. Sometimes watching nature is hard and our logical mind cannot understand and thinks it needs facts and absolutes. At the same time, our emotional mind wants to have something to hold onto, something to calm its confusion and its fears. We stopped zooming on the eggs so often because it seemed to be causing more upset and concern than curiosity and calmness. If and when a pip happens, we do not have to know about it instantly. We will see it soon enough. Watching nature builds our patience, our strength, our compassion and our resilience. As a biologist, watching human as well as animal behavior, I know that sometimes when we worry, we tend to get upset with the people and things around us. Or to want to blame something…because that’s easier than feeling what is happening inside, especially sadness. Please allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling. When you feel it, it can dissolve. And in the meantime, we will watch what is happening in nature… Jackie and Shadow have not given up on anything and continue their dedicated egg care. Tuesday morning Shadow showed up from the back porch shortly after dawn for an early morning duty shift. After a full night, Jackie was happy for a little break. She arrived back with fluff about an hour later. Shadow did a short bit of arguing, because obviously, you can’t just give in too easily or your mate might get the idea you are a push-over. But he gave egg-duty to Jackie and even gave her a couple hours on the nest before coming in with more fluff. They both brought fluff rather than sticks all day and they had smooth transitions the rest of the day…and a bit of a loud one when Shadow came in with a fish, as Jackie made sure everyone knew the fish was hers. The rest of the evening was Jackie’s. Shadow arrived early again yesterday morning and this time they have quite a long discussion about it before Jackie agreed to let him take over. They had only another couple exchanges through the day, as weather clouds started rolling in. They both seemed to be a little jumpy and were off the eggs a couple times during shift changes. There were some sub-adult bald eagles in the area and their guarding activities to chase those intruders away may have been the cause. By afternoon, snow had started, so Jackie took over nest duty as per Jackie’s rules. This morning, when the snow had stopped, Shadow showed up to take over. Jackie argued and then mumbled as she got up but looked a bit relieved to let him take over after sitting through the snowy night. Thank you all for your continued support, patience and calmness as we all watch to see what happens next. Sandy"
I think people are forgetting that bird watching is what it is. Watching birds, staying in the present, contemplating nature and being grateful for this amazing opportunity to watch an eagle couple being two eagles, among other animals, and with this absolutely beautiful landscape. 🌱✨
Thank you for succinctly putting your comment in a way that is conscientious and respectful. No one is getting put down, no one is feeling triggered to be defensive or to contribute to a negative narrative. Staying in the present ♥
Thanks, but I'm not worried… just fascinated to watch them, whether or not a pip has been detected. I so very much appreciate all the efforts that you moderators put in… for their sake.
Absolutely perfect post Sandy! Been watching J&S for three years now thanks to FOBBV and it never gets easier, yet emotional attachment grows exponentially. Nature is beautiful, complex, harsh, and we humans are guilty of wrapping it in our own little box with a bow. Regardless of outcome on this clutch, I will love J&S that much more and have something to look forward each year.
Nothing is perfect in this life. Everything is possible! Don’t get discouraged. Let’s hope for the best and let’s keep our lovely birds in our prayers❤🙏
Not every human egg works out either, regardless of how much it might be wanted. Mother Nature still has the last say about life, and we must possess ourselves of patience and forbearance. Life will be life; we are all blessed to have an inside look into the wonderful lives of these magnificent birds. Thank you Sandy and Cali. ❤ from Canada
Thank you to all, mods, camera ops, everyone involved. Nature is a beautiful thing. Just to watch them live their simple Eagle lives with no hurry, no human drama… they just be who they are, and live in each moment. And that is our lesson.
Well said! Before these incredible cameras brought us into their world, they did just fine on their own. God has a plan and He will see fit to it whether we like it or not.
Oh our hearts ❣are so full for Jackie, Shadow, and their eggs 🥚🥚🥚Thank you Cali Condor and Sandy for helping the world be with this wonderful couple 🦅🦅
My heart, soul, prayers are pouring out for this beautiful family. TTE , I know, but I'm human, I'm emotionally attached- I can't help it. Please Lord, just 1 eaglet. These 2 deserve it ❤❤❤❤
It's nice to know biologists and other experts are monitoring the situation with J&S. My concern is for them and their continued safety and well-being.
Thankyou Cali Condor for sharing this message from Sandy! Prayers and wishing the very best for our gorgeous couple! Hopefully we get to see a pip soon!🎉 They are best parents and deserve an eaglet for this season!🎉 God bless this family with happiness!🎉
Ive been watching J & S since their first encounters ....these two exceptional eagles have amazing personalities and I truly enjoy the camera clarity and beautiful scenery.
Sandy did an excellent job of helpingg humans, especially the ones who are new to this experience. And thanks Cali Condor for placing it here to reach a wider audience. FOBBV is the best! TTE
Thank you, Cali, for posting Sandy's message that was on Facebook. To me, it is a great privilege that FOBBV, Mods, Camera Ops, and all that bring to us the lives of Jackie and Shadow. All your hard work has afforded us a once in a lifetime glimpse into the lives of two beautiful Bald Eagles. Nature can not be controlled, but it can be studied so that more information can be gathered. The preservation and conservation of all animals is so important. Through this journey, we have come to love and respect Jackie and Shadow. They are doing all they can to protect their eggs and hope that nature pervailes and that three beautiful eagles are hatched. How very fortunate we are because of all❤ of you and the work you do, we are able to see the Ives of Jacki and Shadow. Thank you to all of you for the work that you do and for your love of your work.
TYSM for posting Sandy's important, heartfelt and hopeful message. I choose not to have FB, but really do want to have the best perspective of the happenings on the nest. Really appreciate the talky video too!
Thank you, Cali Condor, for this update from Sandy. Your channel was the first I saw of Jackie and Shadow, a little over a year ago, and is still the only source I use for checking in on them, and their eggs. Like many, I’ve been worried about them this past week, especially after last year’s loss. Hopefully, we can find solace knowing we’re not alone in our love for Jackie and Shadow, and their offspring, however many that may turn out to be. God bless you and FOBBV for sharing this wonderful experience of seeing Bald Eagles up close like this. They are such beautiful creatures, with such beautiful souls. They deserve all the help we can give them.
Thank you for this raw, beautiful, and natural footage. The respect these two Eagles demonstrate is extraordinary and inspiring. I am very grateful to be a witness to this amazing process.
Honestly, thank you all! As hard as it is knowing the outcome might not be what we are hoping, it is a privilege to view it. So, thank you for the education, time, and money spent on bringing it to us. It is beyond appreciated.
Greetings from New Jersey. I'm a newbie here. I saw a feature on the news and had to check it out. Now im hooked on this beautiful couple and their precious eggs... even my dogs get excited with the conversations between them. Thank you to all the volunteers for the great service you provide and the the beautiful camera shots. Love watching the sun rise and setting with this blessed family. Praying for them all. ❤
Perfectly said, let's all just be supportive to Jackie and Shadow and to whatever natures plan with them. We are blessed that they are sharing their lives with us. Thank you to FOBBV and the mods for making that possible.
Mother Nature will take her course, no matter what. Thank you for caring so much about all us Eagle enthusiast ( new & old) to share your knowledge and wisdom.
What a beautiful, sensitive post from Sandy Steers: ‘Watching nature builds our patience, our strength, our compassion and our resilience ‘ - so true. Trust the 🦅 🦅 thank you so much Sandy. Blessings to you and your beloved Jackie and Shadow 🙏 ❤
Thank you and we love Jackie and Shadow, their safety and health is priority over the eggs. Although, we adore and want the eggs to hatch. We are here to watch not to intervene. Thank you Sandy Cali and everyone ❤
I am grateful we have this wonderful opportunity to learn and love these two beautiful eagles. Having a little one(s) is just an added benefit… thank you to everyone that makes this possible…
Thank you for response,I am not on fb. This couple is so very unique ,they truly r so verbal & demonstrative in their relationship I pray they will have successful hatchings, whether it's 1,2 or3
Thank you for sharing Sandy's message with us. It was so very well-written with a lot of wisdom. It is sad that so many have such a hard time watching what is happening with Jackie and Shadow and their eggs. Not that it isn't so disappointing to think that even one of those eggs probably won't hatch but that is nature and it doesn't always cooperate with our wants and desires. Thank you, Cali, for continuing to keep us updated. Your efforts are much appreciated.
I was finally able to open & read Sandy's message. Well done Sandy for a heartfelt informative note to the eagle lovers around the world who have been watching this spectacular feat of nature. Will continue to watch & pray for some babies for these 2 awesome eagles.
Wow what an amazing update-summary Sandy! I really like what you wrote. I too find myself anxious - a bit worried. I watched a video of another eagle pair (Florida). The female lost her long time mate. Then she found a newer mate, but he was not mature or experienced enough. So he didn’t know to bring her food or to sit on the eggs so she could take a break. Then she gave up. It was heartbreaking! She stood on the nest leaning her head into an adjacent tree. It was like she was mourning. The male across from her didn’t leave for a very long time. Sandy is right - this is nature at its realest! If you feel like crying - cry - it’s a good catharsis.
Thank you! One thing is for sure, FOBBV had succeeded greatly in raising awareness and concern for the Bald Eagle. 331,000 subscribers love Jackie and Shadow.
Dear Sandy.... Thank you so very much for taking time to not only share your heartfelt understanding of our wonderful Jackie and Shadow but to extend your compassion and your heart to what you hold most dear.💖🦅🦅 💖
Thank you for the additional info and your thoughts. Standing by… Really hoping for the best but with a clear understanding of the way nature works. Eaglets or not, we will still be here next year. We love Jackie and Shadow…and we appreciate the time and effort of every single person and group that makes our glimpse into their amazing world possible.
Grateful for this important discussion and all of you with FOBBV, bless you for what you do. Watching nature brings with it the potential for pain, and loss. How can we make the world a better place for Jackie and Shadow? Thats an arena where we can all pitch in.
Thank you for the post. Yes, nature is harsh.... but that is not under our control. I get so much joy just watching these two! Life goes on! {Praying that 2 or 3 make a showing!)
Thank you so much Cali and Sandy !!!! Great message - we must trust the Eagles, keep praying for the gift of at least 1 hatch - they so deserve it ❤🦅🦅❤️
I tend to get emotional watching Jackie and Shadow. I came here to watch their cam live hoping to see an egg hatch. I had sorrow in my heart with another pair on the east coast, but they are bonding and learning now. Thank you for keeping us informed and all your hard work. Your dedication is amazing.❤
Thank you for the update. We’re all anxious to see the eggs hatch. Jackie deserves it, especially after spending 62 hours straight on the nest. There was a moment during the storm, I became very concerned. Shadow deserves it too. Both are such a good couple. I love to see their interactions. They are amazing.
Thank you for reposting what Sandy wrote. That was beautifully said. This has been the most incredible thing watching Jackie and Shadow over the last 3 years. I have enjoyed every moment of their majestic beauty. I have learned so much. I love both so much! :)
This is good for all of us. It shows just how hard the animals try to survive and yet with their best efforts, possibly fail. We as the keepers of this planet should do all we can to help.
Thank so much for the update. If J & S are not giving up, we shouldn't either but all we can do is watch. I'm crossing my fingers for them. they are great parents.
Thank you Sandy for this post. This my first year following Jackie and Shadow but it definitely won't be the last! I can certainly understand how one can get attached to these wonderful eagles as I am hooked. May they fly high for years to come!❤
Thank you for reposting Sandy’s comments for those of us who are not on Facebook and follow Jackie & Shadow on RUclips! Really appreciate getting an “official” update from Sandy with FOBBV. Helps so much! We love you Jackie, Shadow & eggies & send the best to all! ❤️🦅🦅🥚🥚🥚❤
Again thanks so much for caring about these beautiful eagle's and Yes sometimes nature is hard to understand but for so many reasons we will never know but our continued love support and prayers for another year of being able to be a part of this legend of Jackie and Shadow!! ❤❤
Sandy's message really touched me. Sensitive, true and kind. I would also be happy if the eggs hatched, but we can't get frustrated with what we can't control, if it happens it will be wonderful, if it doesn't happen, nature decided that way. She is beautiful nonetheless.
Wow, so we're going on the 40th day for egg #1 😢 Please Lord have mercy on these babies and the the parents 🙏🙏 and give them a blessed little family 😊🙏🙏 God bless All your animals You have made and take care of them. 🙏🙏🙏
This is one thing social media is great and because of you guys you let us look into a window that we were never been able to seen thank you for all your hard work ❤❤❤❤❤from New Jersey to J&S❤❤❤❤❤❤
If there is any good that comes out of this experience it is there are people in this world that have a great deal of compassion for not only the eagles but for everyone watching and waiting or a pip. Its so heart warming to read the messages of support to those having trouble dealing with the anxiety or uncertainty at the nest. I am one of them . Regardless of what happens on the nest Jackie and Shadow have brought the good in so many people and I am truly blessed to be part of a loving community. God Bless Jackie and Shadow and all of you and your families.
Thank you for keeping us updated Sandy you our so much appreciated and every one involved we will just keep praying for the best those two just deserve it
Thank you for sharing Jackie & Shadow with us and for all the helpful information. I've definitely had my feelings, even though I understand it's nature and unpredictable. I'm still very thankful for this page and the live feed. I have 2 new birds to love and root for! ❤
I'm a newbie to Jackie and shadow s channel and can't thank you enough for explaining with going on , it's fantastic to be able to watch ..Thank so much for the opportunity, I'm here in the 🇬🇧 watching birds in the States at all hours 😂 bloody brilliant 👏
Since no pip this season, I went back to look at Spirit growing up and flying off. I also love the Spirit of Big Bear video tribute. Thanks for sharing it.
What a wonderful opportunity to see these amazing birds in this process of life! Thanks to all of you in Big Bear sharing this with us. I loved going there as a child for fun, snowy day trips. Nature is amazing but also harsh, and we are all learning as we go. Such a nice message for us today, to understand the reality of wildlife. Blessings to the team for making this available to us, and prayers to Jackie, Shadow, and little ones. ✌️❤️ 🦅
Appreciate this Cali! I believe this will help with alot of questions people may have! Hate to hear about egg#1 but know it happens. Hopefully 2 and 3 will have better luck, Even if only one hatched that would be great too!
Thank you thank you to this huge group of VOLUNTEERS who give freely of their time and knowledge ❤. The 🦅 eagle world 🌎 is better because of them❤. It is what it is. I am grateful for this community.@Cali Condor @FOBBV
This is not the only nest I watch but it is the one that made me look for other birds nesting. I also watch osprey and watch smaller birds in my area. I must admit some nests have more drama than others but BigBear is the one I have learned from most due to you and Sandi and other viewers. Wildlife is interesting and observing helps us help the animals we adversely impact on occasion.
Although I am not making any inquiries, I appreciate the letter. Having been through a couple of dramatic 2 years here at the Westminster, CO eagles nest. I realize is sit back, watch nature and pray all goes well. 🙏 Again, Thank You as I do not get on Facebook. For a good reason. So continue to watch RUclips for the daily doings of Jackie & Shadow and hope all goes well for them! Cheers
❤❤ Bobbi here from Illinois thank you so much Sandy & cali for sharing this we love these videos and yes we are all waiting patiently my grandson is eight years old he’s from San Antonio Texas and they watched also❤❤❤
Thank you for this post Sandy. The information is important. I have been around parakeets my whole life and things happen to the eggs. Most of the time they hatch and they are fine but sometimes it doesn’t go as planned. But the eagles are strong souls and they have a lot to contend with such as harsh weather conditions and food sources. If we understand their challenges, hopefully humans can take better care of the environment f

I could watch this for hours. Truly Gods work as he intended it to be.
Miracle happened 🙏🥚🐥Jackie and shadow love and take care the precious eggs 🙌🏻🙏🐥🥚prayers 🙏🥚🙏🥚❤️🦅❤️🦅
Thank you Sandy for this post. This my first year following Jackie and Shadow but it definitely won't be the last! I can certainly understand how one can get attached to these wonderful eagles as I am hooked. May they fly high for years to come!❤
Thank you Sandy. Appreciate you updating all of us. ❤
Thank you, Cali and Sandy. This is such a privilege.
Thank you FOBBV & administrators. We love Jackie & Shadow. They have been parents before. Trust these Eagles.😊❤❤
3/8 8:45 AM Pure example of parental love & dedication. Amazing to witness this natural instinct of the animal world.❤
Thank you for re-posting the message from Sandy. Very informative and am thinking positive thoughts that 2 will be viable!!
That was awesome, Sandy! Thank you so much for posting the absolutely perfect words that we all needed to hear! You're the best! God bless you! 🦅
Wow, so we're going on the 40th day for egg #1 😢
Please Lord have mercy on these babies and the the parents 🙏🙏 and give them a blessed little family 😊🙏🙏
God bless All your animals You have made and take care of them. 🙏🙏🙏
Hanging out with the eagles is so Zen. Jackie and Shadow are relatively young so we can enjoy their company for many more years! ❤❤
Our Eagle Gurus! 😊
This is one thing social media is great and because of you guys you let us look into a window that we were never been able to seen thank you for all your hard work ❤❤❤❤❤from New Jersey to J&S❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is the beauty of nature. Letting it happen and appreciating all aspects of it.
I love their sweet twerpling to each other ❤ Such a fun eagle pair to watch!
TY CC for this post as I don't have FB. My love goes out to J&S, their eggs, and to FOBBV!

This has been an incredible experience. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing Jackie & Shadow with us and for all the helpful information. I've definitely had my feelings, even though I understand it's nature and unpredictable. I'm still very thankful for this page and the live feed. I have 2 new birds to love and root for! ❤
Thank you Sandy for the update. It’s hard to not get attached to these birds and their eggs. Praying for a good outcome.

Thank you for the update Sandy!
❤🙏🏼 Thank you so much, Cali 🙏🏼❤️. I will forward Sandy's message.
They are so awesome. I love these two eagles so much. Glad your videos introduced me to them. Thanks Cali Condor.
Thank you for this message and all you do! I watch the live cam for hours each day.
Where there's life there's hope. Best of luck -Australia.
Appreciate this Cali! I believe this will help with alot of questions people may have! Hate to hear about egg#1 but know it happens. Hopefully 2 and 3 will have better luck, Even if only one hatched that would be great too!
Thank you Sandy and Cali Condor. 🤍🦅🤍🦅🤍
I’m so happy to witness this beautiful event to come! Thank you so much
Thank you thank you to this huge group of VOLUNTEERS who give freely of their time and knowledge ❤. The 🦅 eagle world 🌎 is better because of them❤. It is what it is. I am grateful for this community.@Cali Condor @FOBBV
Such a beautiful sight!!🦅🦅
Beautiful video. I loved the zoom in - to see the feet and eye so very close - amazing. I wish for them good eagle things.
Thank you for the update! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 there will be some pipping soon.
Again, Thank You as I do not get on Facebook. For a good reason. So continue to watch RUclips for the daily doings of Jackie & Shadow and hope all goes well for them!
Cheers
❤❤ Bobbi here from Illinois thank you so much Sandy & cali for sharing this we love these videos and yes we are all waiting patiently my grandson is eight years old he’s from San Antonio Texas and they watched also❤❤❤
Thank you for all the information everyone provides.
Thaanks so much for lasted updated! Just so sad for them. 😢 I love them and want so much for themto become parents!!😢❤❤
