You are a fantastic teacher and I respect your family and work ethics. I am 67 and have raised my two girls and now I can finally paint and do crafts and enjoy learning and applying it. Thank you for being so informative and professional.
I've just started looking into resin art and this popped up into my search results. I'm so very impressed! Your artwork is BEAUTIFUL and FLAWLESS, and your method of teaching is so clear, concise and easy to understand. Thank you so much! I just subscribed and I'm going to check out your other videos! ♥️⚘️✨️
Hi Kanella...I received my resin this past week and my first try was a disaster. I made sure that both products were warm to about 73 and I carefully measured equal parts and mixed together. As soon as I poured it onto my canvas it congealed like gel. I could not get it off. Could not scrap it. What a mess. I called Krystal Resin and spoke with a nice person who told me to only warm up the resin not the hardener and not to use a plastic cup to mix in. Silicone would be better. So the next day I tried again and I worked great. However, on my yellow label it says to pour your hardener in the your mixing container first and the resin on top. You have said the opposite in this video. Not that it matters much as your going to mix it for 4 minutes anyway. Thank you for all your videos they have inspired me and given me something to look forward to during a very lonely time in my life.
It really doesn’t matter which one you mix into the other. As for silicone cups - I have never ever used silicone. I use plastic cups alllllll the time. Never had an issue. Sometimes bad things happen - glad you got it figured out.
Thanks Kanella. I was so disappointed to not get into your class at PourCon. This is so great. It’s perfect. Exactly what I needed to jump in to resining some of my work. ❤️
Thank you. This video is a few years old. I do have a newer more updated version from about a month ago. Here’s the link ruclips.net/video/dEVdfuBeKt0/видео.html
Awesome video. Thanks for telling everyone to wear a respirator and mentioning that there are differences in resin (fumes, VOC, etc.). Everyone should read the safety data sheets on the resin that they are using. Especially important to use a respirator when sanding, as resin dust can be toxic.
First of all, You know I love you! I love how straight-forward you are. My Mom said, " She's so rude!" I laughed!! My mom is so old school!! I totally appreciate the way you do your tutorials, I love how you speak. The confidence in what youre doing is what I truly admire. You come off as a NO BULLSHIT , DISCIPLINE, ORGANIZED NEAT FREAK, and honestly I LOVE IT!! ITS so refreshing to find someone who don't SUGAR-COAT everything because someone might me too sensitive like my mom, by which, her and I never saw eye 2 eye, so anyhoot...I sincerely appreciate you..YOU ARE FABTABULOUS!!!(my own word)..lol...OMG I've learned so much from you!! Thank You!!
🇨🇦 Thank you 🙏 Thank you 🙏 for posting this! You are awesome and have helped me so much on my journey of artwork. I am forever grateful for your kindness and big heart to help others. Happy Canada 🇨🇦 Day to a fellow Canuck! I am at the cottage today celebrating our amazing country! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Oh my , you answered all my questions really from resin type and from top coat everything really and the air purifier . Will search for the video of how you wrap and ship your work .
You are an excellent teacher. It should be your occupation! You could teach at an art school, community college, privately. But I am sooo very glad you are sharing your talents with all of us.
It is wonderful to watch an artist at work. Your art it is so beautiful and you have a very balance brain ( yin-Yan). Yin for the creativity and the Yan for the so well structured process of explanations. Watching you at work is helping me cooped with stress. Your Art fill up our hearts of beauty .Merci, 🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰. (Calimera)
Thank you for a very informative video Kanella... I particularly liked the bit abot wearing gloves once the resin is cured to stop fingerprints... excellent tips all round... :)
Your videos are so very helpful. I'm really very new to acrylic pouring and I've watched a number of your videos. This one is so helpful as I love the look of resin versus varnish. I do varnish but want to move to resinning more. I also love your packing and shipping video (US resident). I've started using pizza boxes. Again, I'm new (since end of December) but have sold and shipped four pieces so far. Thank you for being so helpful.
I bought an old round cafe table for $25 when a store was shutting down. The base is metal (beautiful design on it) but the top is an ugly blue . So learning how to work with acrylic pouring to decide what I want. Then will finish up with a resin top coat. Thank you for the in depth tutorial.
Happy Canada Day my fellow Canadian!!! Yay, The best Country!! 🇨🇦 Any who, thanks for the video, very informative for who ever wants to venture into resin.🤗
This video is so good. I like that you are straightforward and honest about your process and what you know about the resin. I am going to be finishing a painting off with it soon. Probably my first and last time I'll be using resin but I think it will finish my painting the best. Usually I wouldn't do something like this since I don't paint at all and I will be adding sculptural objects to the piece as well. And well I am not a fan of resin personally but I was suggested to use it just to help with all the raw bark that is on my wooden canvas. Thus I've been doing a bit of research before hand since I just want to do it one time. Not sure if that is a good idea, I usually just go for it but with all the tips and information you gave in this video I think I will be prepared and have an easier time doing so! Will definitely recommend this videos to others if they are thinking of doing the same.
Happy Canada Day! Very informative and excellently done. If you don't already have one, try using a small ceramic heater with thermostat to warm up your space. They're electric and safe.
Thank you so much for this video. I love watching you. I’m new to pouring and trying to learn the many different techniques. Trying to make the blow dryer my friend, lol. You make it look effortless!
You should have been at my studio the first time I used the hair drier. I ended up with paint from ceiling to my floors. Nothing was spared. My computer, curtains, Keyboard, router. I learned that there is a fine line between, not moving, and moving your paint. Good luck in your pours. I have work to do.
Thank you! Thank you! One Million Thanks! Between you and Molly's Artistry, my acrylic art knowledge has expanded...tremendously! Lotsa Love to both of you from the Midwest.
Never imagined I’d resin a painting even after watching so many videos on it. But after watching your tutorial , I think I’ll go for it! Thanks Kanella
I’m a new painter, an I want to make this my career. So I’m doing my research an trying to get as much information as I can, and I have to say This video was very informative. So thank you..
Thank you I've learned a lot more from this video then any other video I've seen on resin.I'm from New Mexico but I would like to say happy Canada day.
Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦, from one Canadian to another😀👍🇨🇦!! Thank you so much Kanella for sharing this video on how you resin your canvas paintings😀👍👏❤️!! I’ve resined my ceramic tiles and my wood boards, but was always too nervous to resin my canvases. I was afraid the canvas would sag in the middle. I see by your video you don’t pour as much resin on the canvases as you would on the wood boards or ceramic tiles😊👍. You just put a nice thin coat😊👍. Your video has now given me confidence to give it a try😀👍👏❤️!!
Kanella, this was a wonderful tutorial video!!! I thought I knew but I did not. Thank you. Can you please do a quick video on shipping a resined painting? Thank you once again. You are a fabulous painter and teacher. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you. Watching you has encouraged me to give resin a try. I feel it makes the colors so much more vibrant than varnish. It takes it from being a crafter to having a professional look.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this. I've wished I knew your process because your work is always so perfect. I'm a newbie and I'm soaking you and Tammy Anderson up like a sponge.
Thank you so much kanella for your time and generoaity in sharing how you resin. I was also so impressed that you support Cdn businesses and products. We all need to do so at this time. Happy Canada Day!😁 Hope you and your family enjoy a relaxing day 👍
I like your resin method. I only have 32oz of resin for the 3 pc I made for my living room, and I'm glad to see the results are good with just a thin coat vs. pouring the 32oz on one canvas!
You are Amazing...I am new at this and I get myself into a terrible mess. Lol. So watching you has made me feel so much better about my next resining . THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU NEVER MISSED A THING . Love from Scotland Sandra xx

I so appreciate the creative mind set you have and the cost conscious approach! I can’t wait to tackle my project tomorrow as I feel that now I have everything that I need. Thank you for all your dedication to quality without compromise 🙏😊
This was an excellent video Kanellla! I have used resin a lot now and u covered every issue, missing a spot, not seeing a cat hair in the mix, burning the resin, ending up with divets, temp of the resin...I’ve made every one of the mistakes at one time or another. You can’t rush a step or u don’t get good results.
Thank you for your sharing 😍 your video and comments solved all issues I encountered in my first approach to resin... at least in theory 😊 But it is so important to have a clear idea on the process 🙂
