Having my first baby in a few weeks and I never imaged how much STUFF would be pushed on us! This is so true and crazy. So much of it isn't essential at all but it's anxiety-heavy in its marketing and "cute", so people just buy buy BUY everything😂
I can see where a pumping mama would find a sterilizer useful! I remember the hours standing at the sink washing pump parts! I didn’t know anything about a sterilizer lol
A sterilizer would be helpful for allllll those parts! I wish I knew to buy multiple pump sets when I was pumping, I would have one and wash it 6 times a day!
The baby monitor is unnecessary to me unless your baby is born with difficulties and was in the NICU then that's understable. I too as a mom of 3 now stopped using ALOT of these baby products. Cheap products last a very long time so don't beat yourself up over buying the expensive products. Great video!
I feel exactly the same about the two-way zipper sleepers! I have never even come across them in shops in my country, tbh. But I got some from the UK (mostly cause they looked cute). Everyone on the internet seems to love these but I hate them for the exact same reason you described. More work than poppers or simple zippers! I tend to just open them from the top but sometimes I forget and then it can be miserable.
Thanks for sharing this! I am expecting my first in the next few weeks. I feel like i have been recommended so many things that are just going to cluttter my home and i dont really need. I did get the wipe warmer, but i do live in michigan and we keep our house at like 65 in the winter.
oh yeah, winter in Michigan is much colder than winter in LA! How nice to have a warm bum in winter time LOL I am glad you were able to determine which products you would use, and you can even get more after baby comes if you change your mind!
Finally a conversation about not over consuming as a mom. Mom's are the most marketed to human in our society
it's so hard to see all these gadgets and not want them for yourself! But not everything is a necessity, although they may be useful!

"I never use a bath thermometer... I use my hands... and I can tell if it's hot or cold!." This is my kind of girl😅
my hands work just fine, better than a rubber ducky hahah
@lifeofthetroxels exactly!
A lot of the things you mentioned are not needed at all but it makes live easier.
exactly! if they make your life easier, then you should get them, but they aren't required to take care of your baby
I agree about the 2 way zippers. I broke at least 1 trying to get my baby out after a surprise blowout. I like the zipping up only.
sometimes things that should make your life easier, don't always do that!
Thank you for making this video first-time mom to be here was going to must have on other videos and list of things they suggested its crazy
It can be overwhelming, but I'm glad it was helpful! You can always get things after baby comes if you realize you need it
Thanks for the video! Please make one about must haves 😊
coming soon!

yes, I think it's easier just one way, but the zipper sleepers are very cute :)
I wish I would’ve had an owlet after I brought my baby home from the NICU! If I have another baby I’ll probably get one just for my nerves lol
Yes, little NICU babies are extra fragile, an owlet would help with that! Every baby has different needs, and every mama has different preferences :)

Doona you put the car seat in the cart 🤦♀️
but then why do you need the wheels if it goes in the cart?!? I know a lot of people love it, which is great!
I used a baby wearing carrier. Saves room in a cart. And gets the kid out of the car seat. And actually have contact with him.
@ LOVE this idea!
