This mash-up is so good. My absolute favorite mash-up by PTX is New Rules x Are You That Somebody. It is pretty freaking amazing. If you think the beatboxing was good in this song, wait til you hear the New Rules mash-up. What Kevin and Matt do with Timbaland's beats is fire!

That's why everyone considers them masters of mashups & medleys. From the start while on The Sing Off they have been able to do this, making something unexpectedly good. They blew everyone away with their performance on mashup week.

Every time i hear this one it reminds me it is one of my favorites of their early career.just a great mashup. You are right that slow build till it popped was soooo nice. Had to add their original "Love Again" is EDM track.
The beauty of a PTX mash-up is how seamless they blend different songs into one super song.

Pentatonix's mashup/medley skills are unparalleled, and they have so many great ones! Since you've been reacting to BTS as well you should check out their mashup of Butter and Dynamite. I think you haven't reacted to Butter yet, so maybe do that first?
If you like the electronic covers, you should also check out their cover of Gold by Kiiara. It's a live video, has great vibes, and excellent vocals by everyone (but some particularly crazy ones from Mitch).

I love the mashups so much. This one, New Rules x Are You That Somebody?, Don't You Worry Child/Save The World, Despacito/Shape of You... even "C" is for Cookie/Rubber Ducky is better than the sum of its parts 🤣 There are a few others As Long As You Love Me/Wide Awake, Butter x Dynamite, Hey Momma/Hit The Road Jack and a couple Christmas ones like Happy Holidays/The Holiday Season, Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry, Be Happy, Rudolph/Run, Rudolph, Run. And ones they only do in concert like The Middle/Stay, Cracked/Natural Disaster (both originals). Okay, I *think* I got them all except maybe some concert ones since I've never been!
I think you'd like Where Are U Now, based on you talking about the vibe. I've heard the video for it has been taken down for some reason but I'm not sure. Anyway, this one and that one kind of go together for me sound-wise and how much I like them.

As others have said, these unicorns 🦄 are masters of mashups. Another epic example would be New Rules x Are You That Somebody. Kevin and Matt slay bass/percussion.

OH, big ptx fan here! This song has been one of my favs, do not know the original songs. If you want to get into original Pentatonix songs, may I suggest Popspring 2016 (3 originals and Evolution of MJ, it is awesome.) also Love again has a cool video and is edm style. Two things Pentatonix is known for -- seamless mashups / medleys and adding dynamics to build interest throughout a song. Suggestion -- their cover of French EDM artist Stromae's "Papaoutai", a collaboration with violinist / choreographer Lindsey Stirling.

This is the first mash up I heard from PTX and I was hooked! One of my favorites! The Evolutions are great, but I love the mash ups! New Rules/Are You That Somebody sounds like it was written this way and the beatbox battle in the intro is outstanding! A must hear! Thanks!
I would also add to the list Cologne it’s a cover of the song by Clean Bandit. There isn’t an official video but they do have the audio track on RUclips and it’s a real banger

Yeah man, Pentatonix are masters at doing mash-ups, medleys, and their harmonies...that's why they're so freaking popular around the globe. I don't think any singing groups can out do Pentatonix...they're just that freaking good.

As others have said, PTX is a master of mashups, something they have manifested as early as the Sing Off days. I also love New Rules x Are You that Somebody, Despacito x Shape of You, Butter x Dynamite (all with Matt) and the classic Daft Punk. The last while described as a medley is in fact has mashups if one would listen very closely. Kudos to them and to their main arranger Ben Bram for these genius arrangements
I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention anything about Avi's solid, intricate bass on this. You might listen for it next time you watch this.

Ok, so this is random but it might be interesting and helpful to some of your subscribers.
Before "finding" Pentatonix, I was raised in a very "country" household (hence my screen name.. LoL) so all I really knew was that genre. I came across PTX when searching for a good version of "Mary did you know" and found Pentatonix version. I loved it so much, I binged the group and fell in love instantly!
Because I didn't know most of the songs they covered, I took the time to research the original and made myself a RUclips playlist of" Pentatonix and Originals" (using the most authentic original to each song as possible since a lot of the songs have been covered many times, ie. Christmas/holidays)
So, I saved/listed the original version 1st followed directly by the Pentatonix upgrade 😉. Doing this has taught me so much about other genres and artists! It's also pretty great to hear the variations back to back.
The mashups I usually make sure to have each original and then the PTX version. This is awesome when the multiple songs are very different from each other (ie. PTX song "New Rules x Are you that somebody"!)
I hope this gives someone who, like me, might be somewhat musically sheltered!

**They have done some amazing collaboration videos with Lindsey Sterling ("Radioactive" & "Over the River" are my favs) and a fun one with Toddrick Hall called "Wizard of Ahhs" (It's a great take on the movie.. done the Pentatonix way!)

They are good at mashing songs together! That type of creative drive is what sets them apart. They keep raising the bar everytime they come with a another song. If you really want to hear a super mashup "90's Dance Medley" "Butter Dynamite" and "New Rules x Are you that Somebody"

If you haven't already, Pentatonix performing the song "Love Again" has a similar vibe to their "Daft Punk" medly. There are others, but those came immediately to mind.
