For the final line - This video is from their first few years, when they were rising like fireworks into the sky. The words were: "We're bigger than we've ever dreamed." It was how they were feeling about their first few years, and their singing that as they did is of my favorite lines from anything they have ever done.

They are tour right now. Yes the last line was a nod to how far they've come. Especially when the recording studio dropped them after winning the Sing Off. BTW Mitch' is a contra tenor
Not a fan of the original, but I am a fan of this version. Thanks for another PTX reaction. Kevin and Avi were so good. If you haven't seen it already, you need to see Kevin Olusola's solo covers of Down and Sign of the Times. His cello-boxing is amazing! Yes, they are still touring. They just did a Christmas tour and will be going on a worldwide tour soon. They sell out arenas! By the way, Mitch is a counter tenor. Avi also has a lot of solo work out now. Genre is very different than his PTX songs, but he is amazing. You should check his work out as well. Change on the Rise is one of Avi's originals if you wanted one to start with. Again, you should check out Kevin's solo stuff- you won't be disappointed!

I mean, let's be honest here, Mitch sounds more like Lorde than Lorde does. And Kevin and Avi just drive the whole song. And I will NEVER get tired of that sassy little "I'm in love with being queen" Mitch almost whispers. Kevin and Avi just drive the whole song. And I'm completely sure none of them knew just how accurate this song would be for them. I just love these guys so much! And this cover is worlds better than the original.
The song is all about living in their fantasy world. The ordinary clothes in the end shows their reality.
They just finished their holiday tour that earned them Billboard’s top holiday act of 2022. They have a world tour this March and May.

I love the ending. I think they were showing where they were versus where they are now. Bigger than they dreamed. They were dropped by their label and basically doing it on their own and it was working for them. Mitch is a counter-tenor.

When they released this, they were just getting big on RUclips, possibly around the time they got their first Grammy.
This was 1st PTX song I listened to with headphones. This is when I realized why everyone luved Avi.

Oh yeah, they are active on tour! Saw them this past December in Connecticut. Fantastic show!!! They are just simply amazing! They are heading over to Europe in March so, yep, still touring!

That's Avi Kaplan, who left the group in September 2017 and now has a flourishing solo career, with 3 EP's and a recent 11-song, all-original album under his belt. So that you can see what he does on his own, check out this live version of his original song "When I'm a Fool", recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in LA, with some of the best studio musicians in that area (and the album's producer, Shooter Jennings on the black Gibson SG) backing him up (and no, he's no longer ding a cappella). It never ceases to amaze me how big and full five harmonizing voices can sound. Each one blending their own contribution to perfection. Nobody trying to outshine the others. Yes, they still tour. The last time they toured Europe in 2020 covid hit and they had to come home. That tour has been rescheduled twice now, hopefully this one sticks. Mitch is a counter tenor, the highest range male voice. Scott has a beautiful baritone we don't get to hear often enough and covers the bass when needed. And I love the last line of this song (back in their street clothes), "we're bigger than we ever dreamed". Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy! Not a fan of this song either but they did a great job making it fun and I thought it was a really cleverly choreographed video.

Yes it was at the end. Them saying that they can't believe how big they have become in such a short period of time. It is an old cover.
So perfect an analysis of this. The original song was played so much on the radio, I remember it too well. Furthermore, the history of the song had to do with the Kansas City Royals, a baseball team. Living in Kansas I get the irony. Thanks for a great reaction!!! 😁😁😎
You should definitely get into some of their originals at some point. You can listen three of them and watch them SLAY live in their "Pentatonix popspring performance 2016".
In the original Lorde video, the band was dressed in normal scruffy clothes as they acted out the words of the song. (tearing up the hotel room fighting, etc.) At the end, they were all dressed up. Pentatonix TOTALLY REVERSED the theme and dressed as "royalty" all through the song. In their conclusion, PTX dressed in their normal street clothes..

This is the very first song I heard Pentatonix do. I was hooked all those years ago, and I haven't looked back. Pentatonix is the very best at doing upgrades, not covers. They never disappont. Sean, I came to your channel because you were reacting to Pentatonix. But, let me tell you, I subscribed because I listened to some of YOUR original work. Sean. Boy, you absolutely ROCK! Undertow hit me right in my heart. Smoke had me bopping. Better than Yesterday has been on rotation for a bit. You have some serious talent. I'm working my way through your catalog. So far, I have not been disappointed.

They’re singing the national anthem tonight, btw, at the college football championship game. This one was very early on indeed. This version makes me want to listen to the original. I feel like Lorde's simplicity is what makes it so good. I can understand why people like this but in my opinion I prefer the original.

This might be the only PTX video that I don’t really like because I don’t care for the song. But I’m still glad you reacted to it because you never know what you’ll like until you check it out. Definitely one of their really early performances.
