ghost trick theme is my favorite of carlos's, I'm so glad y'all played it! seriously I've listened to that track at least 50 times, and I always catch myself humming it
Thanks for sharing this video! It was great to see this lineup performing live music in front of VGM fans. Brian Sheu in particular was really killing it on all of his guitar solos during this live performance.
Your bramble blast is fucking beautiful man. OMG. Really felt like you guys were loving it and absorbing the love in the crowd. I just started following you guys and my wife is starting to love it too. Supa jel of your talent and love for jazz and viggy games. Awesome flow on bramble blast guys! The guitar is sick on that one too all around fucking awesome, can't say anymore to describe it.
Wooaaaaa this is an amazing performance! Thanks MAG for tunrnin me on to insaneintherain. He's gud! And of course, SSB is as awesome as always! Great collab. guys, hope you do more!
39:36 Carlos mentions Hugo Junstrand (YT channel name: Toxodentrail ), he's a guy from Sweden who creates amazing ANIMATED video game music covers. Check out his stuff, it's really good. I'm kind of his patreon patron, so i know :D
UPD: I asked both Toxodentrail and Insaneintherain about this, and it turns out that Carlos has accidentally mispronounced the name! He meant to mention his other friend, who's name also happens to be Hugo, Hugo Hidemark (YT channel: Drodash II) He's the guy responsible for the arrangement of Dire Dire Docks :)
Seems like Toxodentrail and Drodash II know each other and apparently they even collaborated on a project before. wow. I'll just assume that all vgm arrangers on RUclips are friends with each other :0
Major missed opportunity to say "Too bad! Waluigi Time!" at 27:44! Still great set and really happy to see InsaneintheRain get recognition on the grand stage of Magfest!
Oho! =D The benefit of the internet in getting to virtually meet your heroes. Just wanted to say thanks for all the hours of enjoyable music you've produced that's helped me chill out and study many times.
If any of the guys who performed here could answer this, how long did you practice, individually and as a band, to put this set together? Just curious, thanks.
I practiced these charts for about 2 weeks to fully memorize all of em, and I know the Soul Bros had been reading my arrangements for about a month to a month and a half before this show. Their rehearsals are available as Twitch VODs if you really want to get into it!
Cool, thanks. I was curious because I'm going to college in the fall and I'd like to start looking for performance opportunities (kind of like this) outside of school because I'm not majoring in music. Just needed to know how much I have to step up my game.
what song at 40:09? I heard them performing in the lobby Friday night and performing something like this in the lobby in the evening. Gorgeous gorgeous!!!
When you realize infinity war is no longer the most ambitious crossover event in history

One of my favorite tunes we played that night!
Wow! It's such an amazing honor to hear my Dire Dire Docks arrangement being played at MAGFest! You did an awesome job!
So glad you liked it man! And I'm SO SORRY I SCREWED UP THE NAME THING! Hope you understand!!!
Loved playing this arrangement, great stuff man!
when are you coming back
Years later and I keep coming back for Brian Sheu’s solo on bramble blast
Every time I watch Brian play, I need to go practice... He's so good!
I'm so glad I witness this live, front row and center. It was so fucking good!
I like how much the earthbound arrangement sounds like jackson 5
1:19:24 - This is how wild saxophonists assert dominance.
ngl, that ssbb bramble blast healed my inner child’s soul. Thank you!
Bill's solo on Blue Resort is so fire
I already know this will be amazing
-EDIT: here from carlos’ community post
I didn't know about this! This would make a legendary live album.
God damn that fucking Waluigi Pinball, Nintendo wishes they did that with DS Wario Stadium.
damn the body and soul that SSB brings to these arrangements really highlights how talented insaneintherain is
I liked that little megalovania
part in the piano solo of ghost trick theme
These guys were amazing all weekend long.
can't believe you guys played some bomberman 64! one of the first games I remember from my childhood, such an amazing soundtrack
ghost trick theme is my favorite of carlos's, I'm so glad y'all played it! seriously I've listened to that track at least 50 times, and I always catch myself humming it

One of my many highlights from the fest hope SSb and insaneintherain colab more often this was bliss to listen too in person
Yeeeeeee
Something about the drinking water chords seem nostalgic
Definetly deserves a lot more views!

This is just incredible in so many ways.

This is dope!
The squeak at 28:26 is great xD
AW YES
at around 3:30, what's that funky ligature the Super Souls Bros sax player is using?
Anakin Dey not sure. looks similar to the Francois-Louis Ligature that insaneintherain uses, though. I think it's a birdcage ligature.

Cool 😎
I'm Japanese but I love the jazz funk!!!!
Not at all surprising. Anime has some excellent jazz. Jazz funk would be like lighting fireworks.
what song at 40:09? I heard them performing in the lobby Friday night and performing something like this in the lobby in the evening. Gorgeous gorgeous!!!
That was Dire Dire Docks! I love that song.
34:14 did he say ZOOT SUIT RIOT
WHO'S THAT WHISPERING IN THE TREES
5:47 This could be taken out of context
Are y’all gonna upload them playing in the bar area from Saturday?
One of the roaming videographers on our team recorder their Lobby Bar Set. We'll have it online once they have edited it.
YEE
What is magfest and how do u perform in if?? 😃
*Brian Shoe*
Why does his guitar have no head!?
I've looked it up now and wow those look awesome. Also this is some amazing playing!
Is there a way someone can put timestamps and names of the songs?
