The absolute best part of this was the intro to Metal Harbor because everyone was hella confused at first but once that familiar intro chord played everyone immediately lost their shit. Metal Harbor is one of my absolute favorite themes, bar fuckin none.
The song transitions were amazing because everyone was thinking "is this that one song....it is....YOOOOOOO IT IS!" Metal Harbor and the snowboarding theme was the hypest.
Soooo cool!!! Loved seeing Jun shredding it! And the other members were awesome! They should perform together more. How cool this would’ve been to see it live.

Sonic may not always get it right in terms of gameplay and story... But you can't deny that the music for Sonic is ALWAYS SO GOOD!! Crush 40 is AMAZING! The energy of this music makes soooo much sense for the crazy, insane speed of Sonic!

Hello, allow me to answer you several months later :) Jun Senoue used to play on a SOLDANO amp (SLO-100 to be accurate) which has a very warm and comfy tone, but with a good cutting-edge range in the mids (it's pretty close to a PEAVEY 5150), combined with his pedals it gave him that nice round and warm tone we love. In this video, we can see that he's playing on a MESA BOOGIE Rectifier, which has more of a "dirty", heavily boost sound, and he keeps tweaking it during the live, as if he wasn't totally satisfied with the sound. So, I guess that's the main reason. We can't really blame the pedals in my opinion, because he used the same pedalboard (90%) for the past 20 years. I can't be 100% sure of what I'm saying, but I think it's close to reality. Hope I helped to clafiry, and sorry for my broken english :)
