I think I was so hyped seeing this in my Twitter timeline that I almost fell rushing to the computer to open the link. Not to mention Prison Lane is one of my favorite tracks from the Hero side of the game!! You've nailed it so perfectly I'm in tears, and the lighting in the vid kicks major ass, too! Thank you so, so much for this!! I'll definitely be welcoming more SA2 covers, ehe.
SA2 was and remains in my top 5 list of video game OST because all that power rock goodness.

say what you will about the game itself, but you cannot deny that sonic adventure 2 has an absolutely kickass soundtrack.

Couldn’t that apply to practically any sonic games ever though? Like even when the gameplay and story suck ass(which I do not think either version of sa2 does) the soundtrack is practically always fucking incredible. At worst there’s only a few bad tracks but the bad tracks are in my experience at least not all that terrible just not all that great either y’know they just don’t sound as great as the others. For some reason Sonic games have the tendency to deliver when it comes to the soundtrack basically.

shadow also had a rather bland soundtrack.
pretty forgettable honestly.
Shadow has a handful of tracks I like even if they're not very memorable, but I'm yet to play the game.

I thought that the tracks fit the tone of the game and the themes of the levels very well. If you still dislike them, then your problem is most likely with the game itself.
In any case SEGA hired Magna Fi to write "Chosen One," "All Hail Shadow," and "Never Turn Back" for this game. They even roped in Rob Zombie's brother to write "Almost Dead" for the evil ending, so in my opinion the music is incredible.
I've played 3 routes of that garbage now, the music is not good at all really aside from the few good vocal themes. They're all really generic.

Prison Lane... I can’t tell you how surprised I am to hear this, so many people hate all of the Tails stages but this is the one I easily spend the most time in collecting Chaos Drives. So hearing this is a very refreshing take on a song I hear wayyy to much heheh
