This song humbles me a lot as a guitarist. I know HOW to play it and where to put my fingers but over the past year that I've been practicing this I still can't quite get it at full speed. I feel very sloppy. Jun is a very gifted man and for sure one of my guitar heroes. Extremely underrated outside of the sonic community. Edit: it's been a few months and I can play everything perfectly aside from the solo. Still a case of "know what to do but not fast enough." I'll get there.

I find it really impressive that, every time I hear a different version of this song - the original, a new mix, a live version or even just this demonstration - you have fun with the rhythm and melody and always play something new. I think it really demonstrates a lot of skill, as opposed to most people who will play back the same thing idenitcally each time. Really awesome stuff.

this style of rhythm guitar is pretty hard to learn (power chords mixed with open chords/voicings & single note melodies). learning some van halen songs will help
+Shadow Fan About a month after my original comment I got an acoustic guitar, and then got an electric guitar in January 2015. It took time and dedication and most of the skills came with practice and time. To be able to learn to play Live & Learn it took me a while, but to learn to play guitar it took a few months. I haven't gone to any lessons so if you plan to do that it could possibly speed up the process. Everyone is different though. Guitar is a lot of fun and if you have the time I would really recommend learning :D

Actually The guitar was from a deal sega got with ESP and the still peridoically produced these things for sale. Japanese custom shop only, so importing is the only way to get your hands on one

I had little interest in music for the first ten years of my life. But all of that changed when my friend introduced me to Sonic Adventure 2. I fell in love with the soundtrack, especially Live and Learn. The solo completely blew me away. It was life changing. I wouldn't be playing guitar now if it weren't for you, Mr. Senoue.
