Hi. I'm using the same machine as yours but its the previous version 5335. I am having issue in sewing straight line in canvas. All the stitches seems crooked especially when sewing the handle folded in 4 layers. And sometimes the needle hit the plate. I'm using needle 16 size, tension 7, heavy duty thread. I don't know what seems to go wrong. And my machine is newly bought. I'm so stressful now. 😫
Sometimes when sewing fabrics with a very thick layer. We should sew slowly and at the same time, using your hand to push the fabric move through the presser foot will help make sewing easier.

Word of caution... I tried to change the size of the bag and the size of the flat bottom. BIG FAIL! I love the bag in the video. Next time I will just go with the size in the video. I worked really hard to figure out how to do a flat bottom of a different size. I worked so hard, I forgot to allow for the seam allowance. Ugh. Wondering how to figure out the dimensions of the rectangle you cut out to make the gusset for the flat bottom if you want a wider/narrower bag.
