@@juanmontull8550 I completely agree. There just isn't much interest or funding that would make raising platforms possible. The other issue is that we have multiple door heights here in the Quebec-Windsor Corridor thanks to Metrolinx so the issue gets more complex.
Would you happen to know if the limit on VIA's own infrastructure on both sides of Ottawa is the same? I know they go pretty quick on their own tracks, but not the exact speed.
Why are there many VIA rail trains with a locomotive in the middle of the consist as if one train is towing another? Im from the US thats strange to see. Please educate me :-)
They stop at Brockville to divide/split trains, one trainset will go to Ottawa and one goes to Montreal. They don’t really connect back, going reverse. This is common in germany for Intercity and High speed trains.
2:53 made me jump! That's why you always check for a second train when on the road
That's why low-level platforms are so dangerous, I don't know why you have those all over the place in Canada and the U.S., is just absurd.

@@juanmontull8550unless you’re allowed to cross between the platforms, I don’t see how it’s a big deal having low level platforms.
Nice Catches!
Cheers

AWESOME video and catches while trackside. Enjoyed watching this compilation video. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend.(Steve)
The speed limit at most of these locations is 95 mph (153 km/h) in case anyone's wondering

How do you know that's what the speed limit is?
Awesome Catches
Amazing video, hope to film in that area someday
Idk if its the echo because of the geography, but these horns sound MEATY. Also abit ethereal
Awesome catches, your in my part of the country now :D
Absolutely amazing comp on the Kingston sub!

F40PHR'S doing 95! Sweet!
Nice catches dude. Where are you planning to film next?
Great Footage, What Equipment do you record with?
You know what I’ve noticed about Via Rail compared to Amtrak, is that Via don’t flash their ditch lights like how Amtrak does
Where did you film the freight trains? Cross streets? Thx
J train splits right? Ottawa and Montreal?

13:44 If my eyes are correct, is that a westbound j train?
Is the CPKC line the Belleville sub
Yes, it parallels the CN Kingston sub

"high speed" trains.... 😂😂😂. canada has such low standards when it comes to rail speeds.
Sadly your not wrong and idk if that's gonna change anytime soon
