I kept seeing people asking about it over and over on Reddit, and people saying it's not worth getting lace-ups because you need to have someone to help you. Maybe it's just because I've gotten used to it, but this is easier than messing around with velcro, and no one is getting scraped up when they clinch with me. I wish more people would use lace-ups, honestly. I hate velcro rash.
The point is this is great for sparring, yes properly tied is superior but youd have someone there to tie you for a fivht and sparring and training with reps this is perfect
Accurate. 🍻 I think a lot of people seem to have the misconception that you need to have the tightest gloves you can get, then throw full power as fast as you can 100% of the time, and that’s definitely not what most of the work you put in should be. There’s definitely a time and place for it, but it shouldn’t be the bulk of what you do. Even just throwing gloves on and getting in a consistent 20 minutes every day of technical work, conditioning, or just light and speed-focused will help a ton if you don’t have the schedule to do more. And waiting around in the gym for someone to lace you up when you could already be warming up on the bag is a huge waste of time. This will help the people who understand that, hopefully.
I definitely feel like they fit better and are more comfortable than velcro. I still have one pair of gloves that’s velcro, but my other pairs are lace-ups
No problems! Just a nice shortcut to still be able to toss them on for bag work, drills, or light sparring without having to bug someone to else to tie them all the time.
It's not as snug, but if you pull the laces tighter in the wrist area and bring enough lace into the glove, they stay pretty secure. It mostly just takes some getting used to, and figuring out where you grab your laces before you wrap them around your hand (just make sure you don't wrap them around your fingers too tight, or take the gloves off and adjust if anything feels weird). I actually pull in enough lace that the last set of eyelets kind of pull and fold inward a bit, but keep the laces around my fingers loose. And I tend to wrap my wrists more than my knuckles with my hand wraps, so I still feel like I get a good amount of support. But if you're going to throw all out, would be best if you can get someone to tie your gloves for you. I just feel like lace-ups give me better wrist support over most velcro gloves I've tried (not that I've tried anywhere near all kinds or anything, though). I have a lot of issues from mountain bike and bmx crashes, plus training injuries, so I basically stick to lace-ups (aside from my open-thumb heavy bag gloves, because they're only 7oz). Totally a preference thing, though. Everyone is built differently and finds different things comfortable.
You could, but doing it this way allows you to tighten them up as you pull your hand in, getting them pretty snug. I’m not sure if you could get them as tight by pre-tying (with enough slack to still slide your hands in), though I’ve never tried, as my hands are kind of wide relative to my chicken leg wrists, and wouldn’t be able to pass my hands through if tied.
When you get the hang of it, you can pull the laces tight-ish when you put your hand in-but not the same as someone tying them up for you. So not really meant for times where you’re going to be wailing on the bag super hard. But I wear them like this in sparring, and do a good deal of clinch work, and don’t usually have problems with it.
@@phurailatpammirabai7284 if you have velcro, this wouldn’t apply to how you put your gloves on. And if you’re having those issues while doing a bit of bag work, focusing on form and wrist conditioning should be higher priority than power.
Crazy how many people don't realize you can use lace ups without needing someone else to lace you up!

@@RVJornalesfor boxing you definitely need to lace them up I don’t know how you don’t break your wrist doing this bro 😂😂
@@alexis808_ focus on proper form and actually do wrist strengthening exercises. I've done this for years and had no issues.
Dude this is trash people use lace for the wrist support benefits this don’t protect the wrist
oh!! that's how its done. thanks! now I don't have to awkwardly ask someone to do it before training
I still do that if it’s not too busy in the gym, but definitely cuts down on it, lol

Love this song!
Got my first pair of lace ups & wish I had done it sooner

@@RVJornales I just never got lace ups bc I didn’t wanna have to depend on anybody but now that I found lace n loops it don’t even matter
Thanks for the tutorial 👍

Doesn’t it make it weaker on ur liek wrist is that big of a difference or nah

Yes, it’s not the ideal was to use lace ups
Your the best

When you throw punches do you have to bald your fist. I don’t think you can bald your fist in those gloves
Bald?
What about pre-tying them?

does this still keep the wrist secure when you do it yourself?

ok thanks!@@RVJornales
This just cancels the use of lace ups. Extra wrist support
Please post your video of how you tie your lace-ups when you don't have someone else there to tie them for you. Thanks in advance.
Bro no hate, but get a velcro cause without someone your wrist will definitely get a sprain like me or even break

Been doing this trick for year’s perfect for bag work but when sparring u need someone to lace u up
No bro...
I'm all ears on your better solution for throwing on lace-ups when you don't have someone to tie them for you.

Converters are better.
But would be extremely difficult to use if you didn't have them.
Get converters they are awesome
