"hello....what have we here" Yessssssss,Lando is in the house! Just received mine yesterday and i love the figure, the head sculpt is fantastic, much better than what i was expecting.Quite a simple figure but i think Hot Toys executed it very well but i do agree the way the cape attaches,Hot Toys should of used magnets but it's saving grace is the beautiful fabric they used.Quality review Justin, thank you😎

Great review! I'm looking forward to getting him in my collection. The cape does appear to be accurate, including the occasional flare out collar. When looking at some of the pictures from Empire Strikes Back, it does appear that Lando also used straps with the cape. It seems like Hot Toys wanted to continue the trend of trying to make things close to screen accurate as possible.

Mark my words,in two three years this will become a grail,it would be impossible to found him below 800-900 bucks on the second market..just like Han Solo ....
people tend to forget how iconic and important Lando is in the Star Wars saga!
I picked mine and he is stunning,one of the best headsculpt i ve seen,the bespin backdrop is just the icing on the cake!

I love Lando and this figure from the previews looked amazing. Honestly I don’t know another character like Lando in the Star Wars universe. He doesn’t have any special powers and has the wit and charm of a Casanova while being a leader. I love that cool retro look on the box from the original figures.
Certainly Lando played by Billy Dee is a very handsome man and looking at the figure the headsculpt does it justice. In particular the shade of his skin tone and the expression of his face has so much joy in it that I think this character captures the hope that the rebels had to overcome the oppression of empire. The figures body also looks like the character and it feels like you’re literally looking at Lando.
His outfit is iconic and it looks amazing, it creates so much of his swag and this is truly a great rendition Billy Dee.
Even the hair looks perfect and adds to the appeal of this character’s look and completes the feel of authenticity.
It’s the perfect color on Lando, it complements him and brings out the best in his skin tone.
I give this figure a 10 even if the cape attachment isn’t perfect.
Lando wears so many hates and this figure captures the impact he had when he took Leias hand in TESB.

Just received mine today and I LOVE him! I have lots of Luke’s, , Leias, Darth Vader’s, storm troopers, and Boba Fetts…... But never Lando! Finally….One of the coolest characters with his classic outfit! It may sound crazy, but this is one of my favorite releases of the year! (And I buy almost as many as you do! Ha ha!)

I'm glad the cape is screen-accurate. That's exactly how BDW wore it in Empire, and you can even see the straps in some scenes. I don't think it's stupid for them to do it accurately.
Not what I’m saying. This is a figure so if something is to the detriment of the figure and can be done better then so be it. I assume Adam Driver’s cape didn’t attach with magnets on set but they did it for the figure because it works best. Whenever you move Lando’s arms up boom there are the black straps!
@justin Not a fair comparison, not including Landos straps would be inaccurate to the film - it’s part of the costume. Whereas Kylos cape connector is not visible.
@@JustinsCollection Just like the actual on-screen costume. Take Vader’s cape for example. They could have magnetised that, but in the film there’s a chain around his neck, and so on his figures it’s there too. It’s the same principle. Screen accuracy always.
so there are people that actually complained that there was too much blue? that makes no sense since that is how Lando looked in the movie. Some people have to complain about something all the time don't they? This figure looks great from his stacked heels to his poofy hair, thanks Justin!

Never was on any fence when this was announced! Lando was always one I wanted the head sculpt is on point Justin! The Cape attachment is not good! As you said 🧲 should have been use. But i am beyond excited to get this will have to wait a little bit . great review as always! And for those of you who going to sleep on this you'll be sorry!

Looks great! And yes, that portrait is really well done. One thing I noticed, especially in your well-lit review is NO MOLD/FLASH seam across the top of the head. The lack of it really adds to the classy look. Saw a behind the scenes image recently showing those support straps on the cape are actually accurate to some version of the film costume...probably the "action" version where he needed to move quickly while wearing it and not have it fall off during a take. Agreed that it looks tacky and probably isn't necessary. Heck, the Sideshow version featured wire on the neck area to help keep it in place. Glad the hem is wired to help get some good pleats in it like you've done.
Very excited to eventually receive this one although it's looking like my retailer isn't shipping it until after the first of the year.

Hot Toys lists Boba Fett ESB at 11.81 inches and Lando at an even 12 inches. Cape collar flairs out..hmmm...how about some kind of glue and held down with clothes pins with cloth in between it and the collar. Beautiful figure, enjoy.

I actually thought the body seemed too buff in the promo pics, as Lando was quite slim in the movie. But seems like it works pretty well in your review, so that's nice to see.

The cape straps were shown in the promo pictures, so it doesn't bother me that much.

Great headsculpt, not got in hand yet, so cannot say more. I have the Rex and that is glorious, figure of the year for me, so far! However, think the Boba two pack is gonna drop, I can feel it in the Force! lol

Lando just looks awesome, he's definitely on my list. He just looks so cool! I already have the DX Luke set, I wonder when they'll release the reissue figure...I might get it just because it's another Bespin Luke that I can use for my Yoda's Hut diorama.

This is an amazing looking figure and I am trying to stick to ESB and Mando for Star Wars, but I have no idea how this figure would fit into my collection. Maybe I could pair it with Fett and Carbonite Han? Might have to pass on it (And likely regret it later)

Going back and looking at some promo shots from Lando, it seems the OG cape does have some sort of strap that goes under his arm. I don't think the OG was as pronounced as this one is though.
