Thank you, Lamia. I applied for the Rhodes scholarship and was shortlisted. I’m from the West Africa constituency, so I guess it’s a bit different from yours. Out of about over 400+ applicants, they shortlisted 27 applicants for which I was a part and then they had a virtual interview just two days ago to reduce that number to 15 (still waiting the results).. those will then travel to Ghana or Nigeria for the dinner and final interview. It’s quite competitive for us, because they only offer 3 scholarships for West Africa (18 countries).
This is great news, Amos! I know how competitive the West Africa constituency is (in fact, I mentioned that I’d increase the number of scholarships in that constituency on my ‘Changes I’d make to the Rhodes Scholarship’ video. What if we have a GPA of 3.69. would we be eligible then? Also, do you know about the CGPA thing? If we have 3.7 GPA in our semesters but the CGPA is 3.69, what's the criteria then?

Hi Reem, your GPA is definitely the criteria you'll be assessed on primarily, but if you feel that your leadership skills, commitment to service and your other extra-curricular activities are up to Rhodes' standards, I would encourage you to go forward with your application, because either way, you'll win!
